Chapter 2

It was a good day in the parlour Irene worked in. People complimented her work and her face. All in all, it was supposed to be a good day for Irene. She was almost going to be promoted too, and maybe her manager would give her a good raise in her salary.
The parlour, named 'STYLR', was popular in Seoul. It was affordable and the workers were very talented. The bell rang as the door opened and Irene smiled at the two familiar faces.
"Seulgi!" Irene smiled, at the blonde haired girl, "Are you here to dye it orange?" She asked, and Seulgi nodded. "And hey Wendy, that hair looks super hot." She winked and Wendy laughed.
"Thanks, Irene unnie. Your purple hair looks nice, too." She said as she sat on the couch, and Seulgi was being prepared by Irene for her hair dye. "Why did I let this woman drag me hear?" Wendy yawned as she brought out her phone and plugged in her headphones. "Tell me when she's done."
Irene chuckled as she sprayed Seulgi's hair with water.
"She's so extra." Seulgi smiled, as she closed her eyes. Irene untangled Seulgi's hair when a idea popped in her mind, "Hey, it's Friday, why don't you two come over and we can have a sleep over? How does that sound?"
"I'm fine with it, and Wendy probably will be, too." Seulgi said with closed eyes.
Irene smiled; it would be a good night.
Would be.
Maybe.
▬
The sun went down, and the moon came up. It was a clear sky that night. Irene had baked cookies and picked out loads of movies. Around 11 PM, the there was a bell, signalling that Seulgi and Wendy had arrived. When they did, they were all smiles and changed into their night pyjamas.
The first movie they watched was the newly released 'Suicide Squad', then they watched 'Train to Busan', and it was late at night when the girls had, had enough of movies. They crashed into their beds and laughed about the funny things, also discussed how things could've been different.
"I find Harley Quinn and Joker cute, though." Seulgi said, "I know, I know, it's abusive but I just ship it, okay?"
"Messed up." Wendy grumbled, as she turned over to her side. "If I was in a obsessive relationship, I'd want to get the fuck out."
Irene laughed, "Same." She twirled her purple hair, "Except, I think I'm a little bit obsessive. That's why my husband left me."
Wendy jumps, "You were engaged?"
Irene smiled, "Yeah. He was so charming. He left because I didn't sleep with him, though. Yet, I still love him."
Wendy sighed, "Yeah. Same with my Ex. I miss him a lot." She smiled at her phone, probably because she was looking at their photos.
Seulgi scoffed, her feelings getting the better of her. During Irene and Wendy's conversation, she'd kept quiet because she always felt betrayed but she brought it upon herself, this situation. "You broke up with him."
Wendy was surprised by Seulgi's mean voice, "Y-Yeah, I mean I did, but when I realised I wanted him back, he was nowhere to be found."
"Is there something wrong?" Irene asked curiously, seeing that both of the girls had become eerily awkward.
"No--" Wendy quickly said, but Seulgi beat her to it.
"Yes. Everything. She was dating my ex. Someone who I still loved and love." She said, angrily.
Wendy was taken aback, "Excuse me? I asked you if you were okay with it. You said that you were."
Seulgi laughed, "Oh, c'mon Wendy, stop being pretentious. Would you break up with him just because I told you so?"
Wendy's mouth shut. She probably wouldn't, she really loved him. Irene, now scared, quietly asked, "Can I see his picture? Let me see the man who broke two hearts."
But she was wrong.
He broke three.
When Wendy showed his picture to Irene, her heart stopped. Her breath caught in her throat. Irene felt sick. It couldn't be...
"Irene unnie?" Seulgi whispered, "Is everything okay?"
No, it wasn't. "It's... It's..." She was at a loss for words. "That's my ex-husband." Now the room went quiet. Seulgi finally realised that she, Irene, was the man's ex-wife who he called crazy and obsessive. Wendy was astonished and scared, remembering that Irene had clearly said, she still loved him.
"You... Both dated him?" Irene asked, voice close to breaking, "Did... Did you kiss him?"
Wendy and Seulgi both looked at each other, scared. It was obvious as a couple, they would... "Y-Yeah, we did." Wendy said quietly.
Irene's blood boiled. She was angry. "Oh okay. It's okay." She gave a fake smile, and the girls knew it was fake, but it was almost 5 AM, and they needed to sleep. "Sleep, guys. It's alright." Irene said, trying not to scream at them.
The lights were turned off and three off the girls could not sleep. At all. As soon as the sun rose, Wendy left, quietly, thinking the other two were asleep. Then at 8 AM, Seulgi left and Irene finally got a little bit of sleep.
When she woke up, she was still angry as before. And she wanted those two dead. Just thinking about them touching her man made her skin crawl. She hissed at herself, as she felt her anger rise up. But sadly, before she killed those two, she needed to know where here man was. And who he was with.
And she had a way to do just that.
▬
Seulgi wanted to kill both Wendy and Irene. Thinking about them made her sick, and she wanted her man back.
She planned on dealing with Irene first, acting all apologetic and she knew Irene would fall for it. Then when she would sleep, Seulgi would kill her. Not very far-fetched but as Seulgi's motto went on, 'Less is more.'
Then she would just confront Wendy and do something about it. After all, they were friends at some point.
▬
Wendy, ironically, wanted to meet both girls and sort it out. But if they weren't going to go along with the easy plan, she'd go difficult on them.
She wanted to talk and make them let go, if not herself. She needed that closure, before as much as she hated Seulgi and Irene, she wasn't the type of person of person to kill that easily.
So she waited, and then she would decide based on how they reacted.
▬
The same afternoon, Irene had managed to find him. Her ex. In her eyes, he had grown more handsome and charming. He was sitting alone in a cafe, and she thought about approaching him when she was stopped by two girls arriving before her.
But she knew them.
It was the two girls who lived below her, in the same building.
Irene was angrier now. Beyond angry. But then an idea hit her. She slowly waited in the corner of the cafe for her ex to leave, and when he did, after what seemed like hours, he didn't leave without kissing the taller girl which made Irene's blood boil with anger.
She acted as if she was not looking and bumped into the girl, who let out a squeal and Irene looked at her with a fake surprised face. "Oh... Sorry-- wait, Joy?"
Joy smiled, "Irene unnie! Nice to see you here."
She grinned, "You too. And hey, Yeri."
Yeri smiled, "Hi, unnie. You look pretty. Were you on a date?"
Irene sighed, "Oh dear, I wish. I was just bored. And I still am. It's a good thing I ran into you two. would you mind helping a bored soul by having a sleepover with her?"
Joy and Yeri looked at each other and then Joy spoke, "Only if she does our hair!"
Irene smiled. She was done with 2/4 of her plan, because she knew Yeri liked him too by seeing her body language.
"Then it's settled! Next week on Friday. I must run along now, I have something important to do at the Parlour." She smiled sadly.
"Bye, unnie!" The two girls waved and went their separate ways happily.
▬
Friday rolled around in a blink and all three girl's were getting ready for their plans. Seulgi planned on killing, Wendy planned on talking and Irene considered threatening or killing. Because in their eyes, and minds, the man was theirs.
There was a knock on Irene's door at 10 PM, and she skipped there, thinking it was Joy and Yeri, whereas it actually was actually Seulgi. Irene was surprised.
"S-Seulgi?"
"Hey, unnie. I'm sorry for last week. I came here to apologise." She smiled and Irene nodded. Seulgi's planned had succeeded for a while, because not even in five minutes, there was another knock, and this time it was Wendy.
Everyone was surprised and their plans had backfired. Badly. But they played along, even with lies such as Irene telling Wendy that she invited Seulgi to the sleepover too as well as Seulgi herself. They all acted as if they knew from before or that it happened in the spur of moment.
Around 12 PM, there was another knock that broke the awkward silence. This time it was Joy and Yeri, and they were politely introduced to Seulgi, and Wendy who were all smiles. "So, want to watch a movie, everyone?"
Everyone quickly nodded to get out of the awkwardness. They settled in with their blankets and chips and the movie had started playing. Five minutes into the movie, there was a blast. And the entire neighbour turned black.
The girls gasped and Yeri sighed, "A blackout. Great."
Great, indeed. After 30 minutes of talking after the blackout, Irene had a fantastic idea. She lit a candle and brought a round table to the movie room. "Let's share secrets and talk."
The girl's were unsure of what they would say. They all gathered in a circle. Irene was all smiles. "First secret. Take out your phone and show us your lover." Seulgi, Wendy and Yeri were surprised by her request. They were questioning what that even meant.
"What?" Wendy spluttered.
"Show us your lover." Irene grinned, as if she didn't know what she was going for.
"Okay!" Joy laughed, as she had no idea what was going on. "Here."
She showed her photo of her with her lover and Wendy and Seulgi gasped. "It's- it's," Seulgi gasped.
Joy was confused. "What?"
Irene slowly released her phone onto the table, showing her photo with her lover. "That's my ex-husband. My lover."
Joy was shocked. She was speechless. And it didn't stop there. Seulgi and Wendy both showed their photos with the same man. "Yeri?" Irene smiled.
"S- She- she doesn't have one." Joy said, but her words were taken back when Yeri showed them a photo of him, not with her, but just him. And that was it for Joy and the remaining two girls, excluding Irene. "You? I knew you did! Bitch, he's mine!"
Yeri glared at her, "What do you--"
Irene hummed, "He's mine."
It was petty but they couldn't help it. "He's mine!" Wendy shouted.
"How can you say so?" Seulgi looked at her.
"Because I said so!" She shouted louder. "He has to belong to someone."
"He isn't an animal or an item," Yeri whispered.
"Shut up, you underage idiot." Irene said, scarily this time, her kind smile replaced by a evil one. "We can decide who he belongs to."
All the girl's stayed still, ushering her to continue, "The one who survives is the person he belongs to."
"Survives?" Joy asked, confused.
Irene grinned, "Yes, Joy." Under the table cloth, she brought out a gun with a silencer, and placed five bullets beside it. "We're going to play the notorious game called Russian Roulette and the person who survives can have our lover."
