Chapter 3
Livia
I was struck with a strange headache as I struggled to locate my way back to my room. It was as if I couldn't see anymore and the sight of Rick and Stella together just messed up my head
badly.
I locked the door and retired to my bed quietly. Now I realized the expression heartbreak was literal because I could feel my heart shredding into a lot of pieces with severe pain passing through. How could my own mate betray me like this?
A hear the doorknob twisting before a knock follows. "Livia." I hear Rick's voice behind the door.
"Livia. Please open the door."
I had been fighting hard to hold the tears back together but hearing his voice now made me even weaker. My tears rushed down till it soaked my pillow.
He kept knocking on the door and calling me but I didn't respond. I didn't want to see him. I hated him.

The chirping of the birds woke me up and the first thing I thought of was my mate cheating on me with my sister. I had been a fool to not have seen it coming. As soon as I opened my door, I was faced with Rick seated on the floor. As soon as he saw me, he got up. I wanted to close it
back but he held the door open and he forced himself in.
"Get out."
"Livia, I can explain."
"Explain what?"
"Livia, I was drunk. I swear by the moon goddess I was drunk. I didn't plan it."
"You think I'm going to believe you with all the acts you two have been putting up in my face?"
"Stella forced herself on me. I was just so drunk. Livia, I was heading to your room then she showed up."
"And you ended up sleeping with her!"
"I'm so sorry Livia. Believe me, I'm sorry."
"Just go." I raise my eyes to avoid shedding tears.
"I love you, Livia believes me. I swear, I was drunk."
Even right now he still reeked of booze. Maybe he was telling the truth but it didn't change the fact that he had slept with my sister while I was around. My own mate! Our ceremony is just in a week.
"Just leave. I'll let you know when I want to talk to you." I open the door for him to leave.
"I'm sorry, Livia. Believe me. I'd never do anything to hurt you."
I slammed my door and slid my back down in fresh tears.
I skipped training that day and remained on my bed dwelling over Rick's words. I knew he was sorry. I believed him. He'd never do anything to hurt me.
All of a sudden I felt Liam trying to mind link. He had to be in this territory again.
Immediately, my phone starts ringing beside me. It's an unknown number. As soon as I picked it up, I recognized the voice.
"Livia."
"What do you want now, alpha Liam?"
"Just thought I'd remind you of the Special force and healer's training at my pack."
"I told you I'm not interested."
"You should try it. A lot of omegas are signed for it."
I frowned. "So just because I'm an Omega, you want to subject me to some activities for the inferiors? Is that it?"
"I'm signing up as well."
"But ... you're the alpha."
"So what?"
All the anger that was gathering suddenly dies down at once. "Thanks but I can't come."
"Why not?"
"My mating ceremony with Rick is in a few days. I'm still preparing."
I hear a soft sigh from him. "Yeah right. Lemme know if you change your mind after the ceremony."
"Sure."
Even I was impressed by my own pessimism. How I still had the strength to believe that all this was going to end up the way I wanted it to.
My discovery was beginning to put a lot of doubt in me. I wasn't really certain sure, I could, about his genuine love for me. I just didn't understand how he could suddenly change.
Rick always had a lot of girls in the pack after him but I was aware that he always shooed them off kindly because he only had eyes for me. But right now I was devastated by what I had witnessed. Anyway he had explained that he was drunk, maybe the person I needed to talk to was Stella.
Stella on the other side didn't show any form of remorse. She never mentioned it or tried to apologize.
I walked up to her and confronted her and she didn't show any form of regret for what she did.
"Rick is my mate! My partner, so you stay away from him because he loves me."
"How long do you think that is gonna continue?" She tucks a strand of her blond hair behind her ear.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Come on, Livia. Don't act so naive. Rick may be in love with you but we all know that love isn't gonna be enough. He's an alpha. Do you really think he'll agree to be on the throne with an omega as his mate? He's gonna need someone stronger to rule beside him. Not you."
I couldn't bring myself to put together what she just said. It went into my head and it stuck but I wasn't't gonna have it. I won't let her get in my head.
"And that person is you?"
"What do you think?"
I disliked Stella but I can't help but admit that she is one of the strong werewolves in the pack.
Her fighting skills were way better than mine. But that didn't mean Rick would choose her over me.
"I think you're out of your mind."
"Watch your mouth, Livia."
"Stay away from my mate!" I said before walking out on her.
I couldn't believe a word from her. She was just lying, trying to get in my head.
Maybe what I really needed was to hear from the horse's mouth. But Rick was off on a pack meeting and would be back in two days. Was there even a need, what happened between the both of them were a mistake and it was clear.
Rick brought the pack house back to life as he drove in with the others. An idea came into my mind overnight.
I could tell from his expression that he was glad with the way I welcomed him like I had completely forgiven him for what had happened.
"There's something I have been thinking about, Rick."
"What's that?"
"Let's hasten up our mating ceremony"
"What?" His eyes are narrow in confusion.
"Let's do it tomorrow....”
