Chapter 2

Livia

My mating ceremony with Rick was a few days away and we were both full of preparation.

I was even more excited.

I had always had a thing for Rick since we were kids.

He was four years older than me and I was the weak omega in the pack but he didn't mind.

He was always there for me, training with me.

Since we've been together, I always prayed that the moon goddess matched us together. And my dreams came true the night we got mated.

" Rick, what do you think about these dresses? Stella asked while hiding a mini gown in hand.

" I think they're good ." I answered.

" No, I was talking to Rick ."

" Oh, they'll look hot on you. "

" Of course. " She giggled before walking off.

When she left, Rick tuned to me. I was Sure he could see the look of annoyance on my face.

" What's the problem now, Livia? "

" The problem is I honestly don't understand this sudden familiarity that you have with my sister

all of a sudden ."

" Livia, Stella is just trying to be nice to me. You know we've had our rough times before and now she's trying to make it up to us for how she's treated us in the past. Especially you. "

" You're the one who.She's being nice to ."

" Come on, livia don't be like that now. I love you so there's nothing to worry about. "

" If you say so ."

I sigh. Just as I rested back on his shoulder, a cry came in from downstairs.

" Rogues!!! "

Rick and I spring up instantly and the entire house was thrown into a chaotic space as wolves ran up and down.

The rogues bursted in right on us, snarling and biting.

I didn't wait to be instructed as I did what everyone else did; shifting.

As soon as I shifted into my wolf, I was attached and I fought back intensely.

No sooner had I begun had a rogue jumped on me and bit at my feet.

I retaliated by pushing back till I hit his back on the wall before taking the back of his neck in my mouth in attempt to snap his neck. But my jaw wasn't right around him and he got off.

Eventually, I was able to win the tussle by aiming fully at his neck one last time before snapping.

The rogues were outnumbered so we were able to fight them off at once.

I was left with a leg bleeding across the floor. " Rick!" I screamed in panic.

" Livia, are you alright? " He asks while approaching me.

" Help! Help !" Stella's cries are heard from downstairs.

Immediately, Rick makes a sharp U-turn

and heads down the stairs while I follow him in disbelief.

Was he seriously leaving me to go attend to Stella?"

Oh my, it hurts so much!

Stella cried from where she sat with others behind her.

Clearly she had refused help from them because she wanted the alpha's attention.

" What happened? "

Rick squatted beside her. I had never seen him so worried.

" I broke my leg while fighting. It hurts so much ."

She cried. Her leg looked perfectly fine to me.

Immediately, Rick lifted her into his arms and headed for the door.

" We'll need to get to town to see the healers. "

He yells as he reaches for the door with her still tucked in his arms.

He carried a worry in his face. He hadn't even looked this worried when he saw me bleeding over my leg.

" Livia, you okay too? " Someone asked.

" I'm fine ."

I walked back up the stairs with my painful leg in full annoyance.

Even my wolf was radiating with fury inside me.

She was rumbling inside me.

I waited at the door till they returned from the healers.

When we were alone, I confronted Rick about it.

" I'm serious, Rick. You're giving Stella too much attention. More than you're even giving me ."

" How can you even say that? I am the alpha now and every member of this pack is my responsibility. I have to be responsible. You don't expect me to neglect her ."

" I'm not asking you to neglect anyone but can't you see she's deliberately trying to draw your attention? She's faking things because she knows you'll give her attention immediately ."

" I can't believe you're saying this. You don't have to be jealous of Stella now. "

" I'm not jealous of her! "

" Then quit whining and let me do my job as the alpha by being attentive to my pack. You've been so paranoid ever since you got back ."

" Excuse me? "

He sighs. " Look ." He calls calmly. "

There's nothing you need to worry about ok? You're my mate and I love you.

But I also have to look out for the pack and be there for everyone ."

He holds my chin and brings up my face so I can see his green eyes.

" Okay? "

I nod and he smiles.

" Are you hurt anywhere? "

I wanted to remind him that my leg had been scratched earlier but I changed my mind. I had already taken care of it anyway.

" I'm good. " I whisper before wishing him good night.

The victory of the rogue attack was celebrated the next night with a feast and party. But I not feeling so good anyway so I didn't drink too much.

I was watching Stella and realized she wasn't attached herself to my mate as she had been doing.

While the alpha was having this time with the other members, I retired to my room to rest.

But I was woken up by the noise from the party downstairs. I checked my wristwatch to see that I slept for only two hours.

When I went back downstairs, I didn't find Rick there so I came back up.

When I neared his door, I was confused to hear moaning sounds from his room. Immediately I swung the door open to meet him and Stella together in bed.

I stayed glued to the door as I watched the shocked expression on their faces. But I was certain I was more shocked.
