Nothing could have prepared me for what I found when I pushed open the bedroom door.

From the very moment I stepped out of the airport, excitement pulsed through me like a heartbeat.

The countryside road stretched ahead, lined with whispering trees and the golden hue of the evening sun.

Each mile that brought me closer to the pack house filled me with a warmth I hadn’t felt in months.

Only if I hadn't opened that door...

After eight long months. Eight months of calls, texts, and aching loneliness.

I couldn’t wait to see Rick again my mate— to feel his arms around me, to breathe him in, to remind myself that love

like ours was worth every second apart.

But when I eventually got back home I was hit with an immeasurable shock of my life when I opened the door to the bedroom to meet a lady sitting in-between Rick's thighs. Both naked.

That lady was my sister!- My mate and my sister in bed?!

Two days before that incident I was just closing the door while pulling my luggage with me up the stairs.

The pack house was empty. Typical of the evening period at Bloodmoon pack when everyone would be out in the fields working out, training and just having good times.

But since I told Rick that I would be coming, I expected he would be waiting to receive me.

'Where are you?' I texted him when I got to my room.

'We're at the field training. I'll be back soon. Wait for me.'

I smiled.

I could perceive his scent already and my wolf was raveling in curiosity inside me.

We shared the same excitement to see my mate after such a long time.

I wasn't going to wait for him.

Instead, I'll go to the training field to meet him.

Rick just became the pack's alpha barely a year ago so I believed he would be the one training the other wolves.

As I approached the green field, the other werewolves came into view all partaking in different activities.

Finally, I sighted Rick.

He was standing behind the other werewolves as they trained. He was shirtless while wearing loose green pants.

He seemed to have gotten muscular and more attractive as he stood with hands on his waist and a little dirt on his shoulders.

My wolf growled in excitement.

"Rick!"

I called him but he didn't hear.

I started running and walking at the same time.

Just when I was getting closer to him, Stella appeared from nowhere and stood beside him.

Immediately I saw her, the smile on my face disappeared and I slowed down.

If my life was a fairytale, Stella would be my wicked stepsister.

She has always been jealous of me plainly because I was prettier than her.

And she was always very rude to Rick as far as I

could remember.

But seeing them standing together now laughing together while chatting, it had me surprised.

She even had a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey Rick!"

I called with a beam and they both turned around to face me.

" Livia. I thought I asked you to wait. "

" Yeah but I couldn't wait to see you. "

" Hey, Livia, good to see you again ."

" Yeah you too."

I smirk back while holding Rick's hand.

I watch as she waves to Rick before

walking away.

" Alright I gotta continue with the training." Rick said to me with a smile.

" Sure." I watch him as he leaves me.

I was fascinated by the way, Rick just bid me off. He didn't even sound like he was happy to see me.

He was on the phone but now he just walked away a few seconds after seeing me?

Maybe I shouldn't overthink things.

I'm back with him now and that's all I need to be happy.

My doubts were partially cleared when he threw a welcome back party for me later at night.

The pack house was full and lively with music and drinks.

I was super excited to be back home with all the merries and now that Rick was the alpha.

It felt even better.

But I couldn't help but observe how Stella was around him the whole time.

He would bring a drink for him which he'll gladly accept.

And when I got up, I would come back to meet them sitting together which none of them found strange even in my presence.

She kept trying to get his attention and at some point I got sick of it.

I didn't want to sir up unnecessary issues so I didn't say anything.

But I made sure, Rick saw how uncomfortable it

made me.

Eventually I got out of the pack house to get some air.

I had already strolled far from the house when I started hearing another set of footsteps on the dried leaves behind me in the dark.

I paused and looked back in the dark but saw no one.

All I saw was the light from the pack house which was far behind the trees now.

Perhaps I was just hearing things but what about this

scent that I caught now.

When I tuned back to my front, I was almost pushed back in shock on finding a muscular figure in front of me.

" Livia, the beautiful omega."

He whispered from the shadows.

" You frightened me!"

I continued walking and he follows.

" What are you doing out here all alone in the dark?"

" I should be asking you that. "

" Just taking a night stroll as usual. "

" You're trespassing ."

I halted and glared into his hazel eyes under the moonlight.

Liam was the alpha of the silver bay pack which was neighboring to ours.

He was currently not on very good terms with Rick or our pack.

" Well, I'm not causing any trouble am I?" He smirks.

" You still haven't told me why you're here. "

" You said you'd be back from school today so I thought I'd see you. "

He grins mischievously.

"Why aren't you with your mate? "

I blink nervously as he mentions Rick.

" None of your business ."

" He's not denying you attention is he? "

He teased and I looked up at him with a cold frown.

Suddenly a message pops up on my screen and it's from Rick. It read: 'I've been looking for you.

Where are you?'

" Well can you see that? "

I flash the message in his face before heading back to the pack

house.
