Chapter 6

Olivia's POV

I saw him walking away, and I excused myself to follow him, only to realize he wasn’t leaving; rather, he was entering one of the VIP private rooms. Probably, the sub was waiting for him.

Going back to the bar, I met with Sonia, who was serving drinks to some Doms. “Are you okay? You’ve been acting strange ever since you returned from the dance. Did something happen there?” she asked, and I didn’t know how to tell her. How do I tell her that the man who had led the gang that murdered my parents and put my brother in a coma was right here, covered in a mask?

“Oli, you can tell me anything, you know that, right?” she pressed on while I flashed her a weak smile and nodded. “Don’t worry, Sonia, it’s nothing serious,” I assured her. Sonia gave me a worried look before shrugging her shoulders. “If you say so,” she said and went back to work.

Sucking a deep breath, I continued working, but from time to time, I looked around, hoping to see him again. I didn’t want him to just disappear; I wanted to know him. I needed to see his face. I wanted to see the face of the man who ordered the killing of my parents.

Hours passed, and while serving a DOM, I noticed the same sub I had seen with the tattooed man, back in the bar. She ordered a drink from Sonia, and Sonia served her. Staring at the sub, I could see she was so happy, and then two other subs came to her. They began chatting, which got me curious, so I wanted to listen to what she was telling them.

Out of disguise, I moved closer to them and pretended I was arranging some glasses on the shelves, so I could listen to their conversation.

“Girls, he is a good fucker,” the sub giggled to the other subs. “His dick… oh my God.” She moaned, and my frown deepened. “He fucks like a sex god.” She moaned again, and I scoffed angrily.

“And guess what? He paid me hugely,” she said, and the other girls gasped. “You are so lucky. I believe you satisfied him greatly, and he will come for you again and, who knows, make you his personal sub,” the other subs said, and she chuckled. “Oh yes, I know he will come for me again because I just gave him the best fuck of his life, and he confirmed it,” she said proudly while I rolled my eyes. It was a good thing my back was turned to them so they couldn’t see my facial expressions.

“Did he take off his mask?” a sub asked, and my curiosity piqued as I awaited her response.

“Unfortunately, no,” she said, and I sighed inwardly.

“Olivia,” a customer called for my service, and I had to move away from them. While attending to the customer, I noticed the tattoo man making his way out of the club, and I panicked.

“Please excuse me,” I said to the customer and made my way through the back door. Getting out of the club, I noticed he got inside a black Mercedes, and I hid in a corner as I tried looking at the plate number of the car. At least that would help with my search, but I was disappointed when his car had no plate number. “Fuck!” I groaned as I watched him drive away in the black tinted car.

Pain consumed my entire being at my failed attempt.

Sighing deeply, I slumped against the brick wall, the coolness seeping through my thin dress. Rage and frustration bubbled inside me, threatening to spill over, but I forced myself to stay calm. This wasn’t the end.

Taking a moment to compose myself, I straightened up and headed back inside. As I walked back to the bar, Sonia caught my eye. She raised an eyebrow in silent question, but I just shook my head slightly and continued working.

It was 1 a.m., and my shift had ended. After changing, I gave some cash I got from the dance to Sonia and headed home. Luckily, I saw a taxi, and after a ten-minute drive, I arrived at my small apartment, took my bath, switched off the lights, and lay on my bed.

Shutting my eyes, I thought of the tattooed masked man, my parents’ killer, the man who wrecked my life, and my anger boiled. For the past six years, I thought I would never see him; I thought he never existed. But today, after seeing him, my blood boiled for revenge. I need to make him pay for the death of my parents and putting my brother in a coma. I knew I had to make him pay, but how do I do that? Even if I know who he is and what he looks like, what can I do? I can’t even report him to the authorities because that would be a stupid thing to do. Firstly, I don’t have any evidence to claim that he was among the assassins, and also, he seems to be an influential person. Reporting him is like digging my grave because he will make sure to silence me.

Realizing reporting to the authorities was a bad idea, the only way I could get my revenge is by doing it my own way. But how do I do it? What can a helpless girl like me do?

“Don’t give up, Olivia. There is something you can do,” I said to myself. With that, I forced myself to sleep since I had an early morning class at 7 a.m.

Waking up to the loud sound of my alarm, I got down from the bed, took my bath, and got ready for school. Leaving my apartment, I boarded a taxi, and after a few minutes, I arrived at the university.

As I walked through the university gate, I couldn’t shake the previous night’s events from my mind. The campus was buzzing with students, but I felt detached, like I was moving through a fog. My thoughts were consumed by the tattooed masked man. He was here, in the same city, so close yet so out of reach.

Entering the lecture hall, I found a seat at the back, hoping to remain unnoticed. My professor droned on about economic theories, but I barely heard a word. Instead, I scribbled in my notebook, trying to piece together a plan. How could I find him again? What steps could I take to ensure I wouldn’t lose him next time?

My phone buzzed in my pocket, pulling me out of my thoughts. It was a text from Sonia: “Are you okay? You seemed really off last night.”

I glanced around the lecture hall to make sure the professor wasn’t watching before replying: “I’m fine. Just dealing with some stuff. Thanks for checking in.”

“Just let me know if you need anything,” she replied almost instantly.

After class, I headed to the library. I needed to focus on my forthcoming exam, but the more I read, the more my thoughts drifted to the tattooed man.

Frustrated, I slammed my laptop shut and buried my face in my hands. Everything was overwhelming and suffocating. I couldn’t do this alone, but I didn’t know whom to trust. Sonia was my best friend, but involving her could put her in danger. I had to be smart and think things through.

“Here you are, Professor Steven wants you in his office,” a student said to me, and I nodded, packed up my things, and headed to his office, my heart pounding in my chest.

When I arrived, his door was slightly opened. I knocked gently, and he looked up from his desk.

“Come in,” he gestured, and I walked in.

“Good day, sir,” I greeted.

“Take a seat, Olivia,” he offered, and I thanked him before taking the seat across from him.

“You sent for me, sir?” I said with unease.

“Yes, I did.” He took off his glasses and looked up at me. “Congratulations, Olivia. You were picked among those that would be doing their internship program at the prestigious Luciano Group of Companies. If you pass with great scores after your six months of being there, then be certain that an automatic job awaits you after your final exam.” He announced, and my eyes widened. “Really?” I asked with disbelief. “Yes, you were among the lucky three persons picked. I hope you make this department proud,” he said and handed an envelope to me. “You begin from Monday. Get ready,” he said, and tears of joy trickled down my cheek. “Thank you, sir. Thank you so much.”
