Chapter 1
Pain shot through Selena Riddle's body as she hit the marble floor. Her head throbbed, and her vision was hazy. Angrily, a man's voice cut through the confusion.
"Selena, just die!"
From somewhere nearby, a woman's voice, shaky with fear, interjected, "Dominic, stop it! This is madness! Get him away from her, now!”
Two burly bodyguards hurried over and forcefully removed Dominic's hands from Selena’s hair. A middle-aged woman rushed to her side, helping her to her feet. Selena was pale and trembling, her face and head smeared with blood. “Selena, can you hear me? Are you okay?” the woman asked gently.
Gathering her senses, Selena looked around. She was in a grand hotel lobby, the air filled with hushed whispers and the scent of floral arrangements. Glancing down, she noticed her once pristine wedding dress now marred by a bloodstain over her heart—a tragic sight.
Shock settled over her as she realized she was supposed to be getting married. Her memory was a blur; she couldn't recall how she'd gotten there. The man before her was glaring, his expression one of utter disdain. He threw a stack of photos to the floor, accusing her, "You're a cheat, Selena! And a murderer too, trying to kill your own sister! I would never marry someone like you!"
With that, he ripped the lilies from her attire, tossed them at her feet, and stormed off. The woman who had helped her up called after him, her voice filled with scorn, "You're a real piece of work, Dominic!"
Watching him leave, Selena’s heart sank. Memories began to flood her mind, overwhelming her with confusion and pain. Her legs gave way, and she collapsed, unconscious.
In a nightmarish vision, Selena saw her young, determined friends fall dead one by one as she struggled through darkness, her body weak yet driven by the need to survive. "Go, Missy! You must live to fight another day! Survive and avenge us!" they cried, pushing her onward.
But it was too late for Selena. Betrayed by those she trusted most, she perished in desolation, a bloody sword in her hand as she fell over a pile of bodies, her enemies watching with a mix of caution and regret. The noble and beautiful Miss Riddle was no more.
Yet, in the distant realm of Creephia, another Selena Riddle was born. In a mystical moment, a divine voice asked her, "Would you like to relive your life, to fight once again for your comrades?" Tears streaming down her face, Selena agreed.
She closed her eyes, sorting through the memories of the body she now inhabited. This Selena was about to be wed but was stopped by her envious sister Leah, who had revealed incriminating photos. In a frantic moment, Leah tumbled down the stairs, scattering the photos as she fell.
The groom denounced the wedding publicly, shaming Selena with accusations and mockery. Blinking back confusion, Selena realized she was now merged with this other self, their memories slowly silencing. Grateful for another chance at life, she was determined to redeem her name and seek vengeance.
"You awake yet?"
"It's been two days. Do you think she'll make it?"
"With her history? Cheating on Dominic and messing around with others, not to mention the attempt on her sister's life. She got what she deserved."
"No one’s visited her. Meanwhile, Leah’s room is overflowing with well-wishers. Dominic and the Riddles are all over her. She’s really made a name for herself."
"Why would anyone visit Selena? She’s nothing but trouble. I wish she'd just disappear. This job would be a lot easier without her around."
Glancing up, the nurse spotted a figure in the doorway—a woman in a blue hospital gown, her face pale but her eyes burning with an unsettling intensity.
"Ah!" the nurses exclaimed in unison, startled.
Selena fixed a steady gaze on them. "Could you bring me some makeup remover, and some clothes and shoes too?" Her voice was calm, her stare icy.
The nurses nodded, visibly unnerved by her presence. A slight smile crossed Selena’s face, hinting at her resilience. "I’m not going anywhere just yet."
The nurses shuddered.
"Even if I’ve lost nearly everything, my mother left me twenty percent of the Riddle shares. I still have that fortune."
The nurses’ eyes widened, realizing the implications. Even disgraced, Selena remained a force to reckon with, her wealth a shield against their disdain.
As they sweated under her gaze, one of them said quickly, "We're sorry, Miss Riddle. We'll get what you need right away."
