In love with the same man

After Drying out her clothes , Makanaka threw them into her bucket .

" I will take my leave now Amina " Maka shouted across the other side of the river where Amina stood talking to Godknows , her lover .

" Oky I will catch you up later " shouted Amina back waving .

Makanaka took her leave as she left the river . She shakes her head in disappointment . She wonders how Amina a fearless girl like that could still be together with Godknows a narcissist , a playboy who only thinks of woman in his head . Sometimes she also wonders if Godknows used a love potion on her . The guy continuously keeps cheating on her and she always catches him red handed if it's not the 5 time then she don't know what it is . Godknows would beg and even cry for Amina to take him and gladly she would then cry later again and do it over again . Makanaka is even tied of warning Amina and consoling her during her non stop heart breaks from a guy who doesn't even value her .

Who cheats on you , apologizes then comes back and do the same over and over again ,telling you he loves you and you believe it . Some people are just stupid in love . " I wouldn't want that kind of love , I would leave and never return " Maka said to her grandmother when Gogo said that it's love . Love blinds you from many things , the red flags are just not important to you because you feel that they are green . From all the novels Maka read she wants a man just like Tom from THE WAY WE WARE , oh that man was nothing but every woman's dream husband . His love is not what you get on this planet .

Smiling to herself as she thought about Tom . Her enemy comes In her direction .

It's Massie , the slay queen of the Village of Chihota . She slays with married men's money and has no shame about it . She would literally flirt with your husband infront of you as if you are a ghost . The things woman say they will do when someone does that do them is all lies , you will freeze with shock like a iceblock waiting for the sun to melt it down , words will vanish in your throat together with your silver. And you will feel powerless especially when you man decides to join her .

It's even a miracle and a shock that Massie lives and still walks around the village like she a celebrity .

Walking with her high heels and short black silk dress , Makanaka rolls her eyes and changes route to walk on the other side .

These two have hated each other since the day Massie falsely accused Makanaka of stealing her jewelry just because Massie didn't like her . She dislikes Makanaka because she feels that Maka just wants to act like some Saint and that she is a slut all because of a boy who Massie liked and that boy liked Maka and Maka had no interest in him . So the enmity between them started in high school , 7 years ago .

Focusing on her path , Makanaka did not even bother to look or greet Massie . Crossing each other , Massie took off her shades then laughed out hysterically . makanaka did not bother to stop or look back , instead she kept walking .

" You are still dressing like a granny , huh Makanaka eeh huh no wonder why you are not married . What man would want a granny like you , you didn't even gain weight mxm I forgot no money no food , but you ware the smartest in our class " she laughed again .

Makanaka ignored her and walked on , it was no use fighting with a fool like Massie. Massie can't even fight, she is just a powerless chicken with a big mouth . That is what Amina would always tell her . And Massie would attack you with personal things . There was this time when Massie and Amina had a fight because Amina had been defiant for Maka .

Amina said to Massie

" That is why you sleep with married man because you a slut and you have aids "

Then Massie replied saying

" Of cause I have Aids because your father gave it to me , I slept with him and I saw everything that he has , so small that I had to pretend it was big "

And that was the most disrespectful thing Massie said that angered Amina causing her to beat Massie up .

Since that day Massie has been scared of Amina although she tries to act all tough .

While Hanging her clothes onto the line Uncle Mark arrived holding some plastic bags .

" Maswera cei ( afternoon ) uncle Mark "

" Ndaswera muzukuru wangu ko iwe ( I am fine and you my grandchild) " he asked .

" I am good "

" Is your granny home ? "

" No ! She went to church "

" Ohh eish okay tell her I was here , but please give her these plastic bags "

Makanaka took the plastics and dropped them inside then went back outside to continue hanging her washing .

As Uncle Mark left the compound . Makanaka was left with a question mark .

Why was uncle Mark always visiting her granny? What was going on between them ? They have never been like this before .

" It couldn't be they too old " she muttered to herself .

Wiping the sweat off her forehead . Makanaka raised up to stretch her back , she was tired of bending , watering the vegetables and plugging them out . Working on the plantations has never been an easy job especially for a graduate like her . Hopefully when she gets to SA she will find her dream job as being a cardiothoracic surgeon .

As she rose in a standing position her eyes met something that no human she see . She saw a lady covered in a black long dress , facing her back to Maka. She dropped a black plastic bag into the bushes . Maka immediately bent down to hide so that the lady wouldn't know that she was seen throwing away something in a black plastic that looked heavy .

Makanaka wondered why that lady was dressed in black and had a Veil over her face to disguise herself as being Muslim . It's obvious she is not Muslims . Muslims do not throw things in the bushes , looking around to see if anyone might have seen them . Muslims don't do such things , they too holy .

Maka kept peeping through the grasses to see if the lady had disappeared but then something unexpected happen . The lady took of her veil and threw it on the floor , she did the same with her dress and she was left with a leopard skirt and white top , Still facing her back to Maka .

Maka then felt something walking on her legs , she turned in fear , hoping it was not a snake . But it was a red ant , she gnashed her teeth softly then removed the ant . Going back to the lady story , Maka peeped through the grass and the lady was gone .

" Where did she go "muttered Maka .

" Hello why are you bending like that , what are you looking at " asked a voice that came from behind Maka .

She quivered like a leaf , not knowing whether she should shout or not . Turing around to see who it was her eyelids jumped open and her heart's speed decreased .

It was Amina .

" Yohhh " she sighed with relief

" What is it ?" asked Amina

" I thought you ware somebody else " she said sounding almost nervous .

" Someone like who "

" I don't know but ..."

" Stand up now , why you still bending "

Standing up right , Maka scrutinized the place then turned to look at Amina .

" Where did you come from and how did you know I was here " she asked .

" I came from behind you , i know where to find you when you not home or at the river "

" Ohh oky "

" Why do you sound so nervous ? "

" I just saw a lady , who looked a bit scary throwing something into that bush there " she pointed to the bush opposite from where she was.

" So you ware stalking her is that why you ware bending "

" I was hiding not stalking , she looked seriously scary "

" How so "

" Very so "

" Mxm you crazy , are you done "

" I don't actually understand how that lady could come here , she.... "

" Forget that lady , Get finish here so we can go to my house "

" If I get that job , my life will change " Amina said applying red lipstick .

" I am laughing because , listen my best friend South Africans do not love other Africans , they even consider us to be Foreigners but we are neighbouring countries , they will choose to treat a white man from Europe who's is the actual foreigner better than you . I am telling you , you will come back home crying "

" That doesn't matter , it's not like I am entering their country illegally , and plus Xenophobia ended long time , you just being negative "
