Chapter 4

Kian’s POV

I looked at all the decorations and cake that she prepared for this very day. And what a surprise I received for loving someone whom people of my class and status consider as not eligible for marriage. I was never one of those shallow and narrow-minded people, neither was my family that way. Everyone loved her, except for my Mother. But slowly she also accepted the fact I love this girl. My brother, Richard considered her as his sister. My sister, Amelia used to have that BFF bonding with my wife.

“How will say them all this? It’s too shameful for me to convey them that my wife cheated on me!” I muttered and called the bodyguard whom I sent behind her.

“Hello Sir.” He said reluctantly and I knew he has some bad news.

“She met Liam, didn’t she?” I asked mocking myself for even caring for her.

“Yes Sir.” He muttered to which I nodded.

“No need to follow her anymore. Go do your work.” I said and ended the call. Going inside the room, I sat quietly on the bed while contemplating what needs to be done now. And just then a phone rang, but it was not mine. I looked around to see her phone lying on the bed. I picked it up after seeing my sister’s name appearing on screen.

“Hello! I know I am disturbing both of you but…” She said as soon as I picked the call.

“No, you are not disturbing anyone. I am coming home in fifteen minutes, we need to talk.” I said and ended the call. This penthouse is so suffocating for me to stay. We have spent too much time here when in need of privacy that it is just giving me painful vibes. After calling the housekeeping department to clean each and everything that belongs to her. I gave one last glance to this penthouse where I will never set a foot again and left from there.

After blowing out the nervousness, I sat inside my car and drove to Martin Mansion.

“Kian! Happy birthday darling.” My mom came and greeted with a kiss. I smiled slightly at her and then she looked behind.

“Where is Lexi?” She asked after not seeing us together. I stayed silent waiting for everyone to come here.

“Lia said you wanted to talk. I said her that maybe you both are planning to give us some good news. Lexi must be planning how she will disclose everything.” Mom wiggled her eyebrows playfully making my heart twist in pain. How am I say that she is not going to get this happiness anytime soon.

“Mom, let everyone come.” I said and sat on the couch.

“What happened? Why are we summoned for the meeting?” Richard asked as soon as he came in the living room with Dad and Lia tailing behind him.

“Because… I need to convey something.” I said and looked at them while they were looking at me expectantly. Only their expectations did not match with what I am going to say.

“I have divorced Lexi.” I said making them look at me in shock.

“What!” Mom said as her face paled in shock.

“Mom, she… she was cheating on me.” I said as a tear escaped my eye that I tried hard to hold.

“What are you saying? Why will she cheat on you?” She asked.

“She cheated on me with Liam.” I said.

“What? Liam?” Lia said in shock and her expressions were even more pale.

“How do you know?” Lia asked.

“I have photos of them being together. I did try my best to avoid and not believing what those pictures were trying to convey. But today I saw them! I saw them in the hotel and they kissed each other! She was acting so demurely while preparing for my birthday when just this afternoon I saw her with Liam!” I said and cried. Dad and Richie came and hugged me. Lia ran inside without any further words

“Are you sure that she cheated?” Dad asked.

“Yes Dad. I have all the photos.” I took out the photos from my pocket and showed him. He looked at each photo and got more furious.

“Are the photos real?” Richie asked while looking at the pictures.

“Yes. They are not photo-shopped, I got these checked.” I said while clenching my fist.

“I don’t believe it! She can’t cheat on you… She loves you so much. I can see it in her eyes. I think you are being framed darling. Have you showed these to Lexi?” Mom asked.

“Mom, I saw them! What do you thing she will do? Will she accept that she cheated?” I asked her. Unbelievable! She thinks that Lexi is right after all this?

“Kian, you should have talked to her. She would have explained everything.” Mom said and looked sad and disappointed in me.

“Mom, you think that she didn’t cheat?” Richie asked after showing her the photos.

“I can’t see her face in these photos. And to answer your question, I know she didn’t cheat.” She said and gave the photos back to Richie.

“Let me remind you, you were the one against her when Kian confessed that he wants to marry her. How come you started loving her?” Dad asked her.

“I was against them marrying in haste. And yes, I did taunt her at first, tested her but later it became just a playful game for both of us to taunt each other. She was pregnant and she called me! I was the first one to know about it. And Kian, you left her at this stage of her life. Mind you darling, she will never forget this. Forgive maybe but never will she forget that you left her during this crucial stage.” Mom said and left.

“Dad, you also feel that I did wrong?” I asked him to which he shook his head.

“I swear Dad. If she would have confessed everything and told truth, I would have accepted the baby as mine. How much ever painful would it have been, I would have still accepted it wholeheartedly and loved the baby as my own. But she only lied on face and denied everything. I just couldn’t stand seeing her, after she denied cheating on me.” I said and hugged him.

“Don’t worry, Mom will understand that you are correct.” Richie said and gave the photos back to me.

“Hello.” Suddenly Liam entered making me angry.

“How dare you!” I went ahead to punch him but he stopped me.

“I am sorry Kian. I had to do this to show you that Lexi is not the right choice for you.” Liam said and looked ashamed of what he has done.

“I saw her once… and I had show you her true colors. So I planned everything sent you the pictures.” He said looking seriously guilty.

“You could have said that to me directly. What was the need of doing this! You ruined my trust, our friendship and my life.” I shouted at him while showing the pictures.

“You wouldn’t have believed me. You loved her too much, even after send you these pictures you didn’t believe me. If you wouldn’t have seen us personally today then you would have still denied the pictures.” He said.

“He is right. We all would have believed Lexi over him. Kian, I think he showed you the meaning of true friendship! We needed an eye opener to believe all this.” Richie said. I looked at the pictures that I have been receiving for a month now and nodded.

“Thanks. I think you are right. I would have never believed your words.” I said and went to my room.
