Summary
Our protagonists, Jason and Kimberly, knew each other from a previous novel, The Night You Became the Mother of My Children. They have opposite personalities. Jason is cold, inflexible, and very capable. She is like an erupting volcano: unpredictable, wild, and full of passion. Together, they break all the rules of passion until they consume each other. In this story, they explore their fear of commitment and love as they try to survive an attraction and desire stronger than the sun's pull on the planets. They struggle to fulfill the promise they made to each other. Their pasts will test them, unexpected dangers will appear in their lives, and uncontrollable passions will lead them into situations for which neither will be prepared. Will they survive each other and their fears? Are their feelings as strong as their attraction? An unbreakable promise unites them. An uncontrollable desire attracts them. A sad past conditions them. ** Author's Note: Background to the Story**
Hello, readers! I'm glad you decided to read this novel. To better understand it, I will give you a brief overview of our protagonists. However, I think you will follow their story better if you read my previous novel, The Night You Became the Mother of My Children, first. In it, Kimberly Peterson and Jason Blake meet and embark on a personal war, a unique bet taking them down paths they never imagined and for which they are unprepared.
Both characters have distinct personalities. Jason is cold, calm, and effective in everything he does. Before meeting Kimberly, he was a hopeless womanizer who, due to his past, despised romantic relationships. He decided long ago that he did not want to get married. However, a certain model made him change his mind. He still does not know if it is because of the bet they share or if it is something deeper that he does not dare bring to light.
Kimberly, on the other hand, is pure fire: a wild, unpredictable Amazon warrior who never backs down from a confrontation and hates to lose. Her past has also affected her personal relationships. Although she wants a partner, she unconsciously runs from anything involving commitment and feelings. This is why she is known as the Ice Queen in her modeling career. The only people who have broken through that barrier are Yvaine's twins, and that's because Kimberly spent almost all of Yvaine's pregnancy with her. Kim met Yvaine when she helped her after she fainted in front of her apartment due to low blood pressure; they were neighbors. Kim was also present when Alisan and Roy were born, capturing the heart of our fierce warrior in the process.
Something unexpected arises between them, orchestrated by Yvaine Miller, Kim's best friend and Jason's boss's wife. This is all intensified by a passion they cannot control, leading them down paths where passion, love, and secrets from the past mix with funny and intriguing situations and a lot of inner struggle. This immerses us in their lives as we enjoy their personal war.
