Chapter 7 Rejected

Gabriella's POV

"What message?"

"Please kindly inform your Alpha that I was the one with him that night at the mask party. I am his mate, and he has mistaken me for my sister," I said to the Beta, but he burst into serious laughter.

"Why are you laughing?" I questioned and lost my boldness, looking down.

"You can't just walk in here and claim to be the Alpha's mate."

"You have to believe me. I am not pretending at all. Everything I am saying is the truth. What would I gain from lying?" I questioned him politely.

He took a deep breath and looked at me again. "Okay, fine. Sit here and wait while I inform the Alpha."

"Thank you so much. I truly appreciate it."

"Don't thank me yet," he said and headed into the main building.

I looked around, and wow, his home is so beautiful and spacious. I guess life here will be great, and I won't be ridiculed by his people.

I thought about Tracy. What if she comes in here and meets me? Wouldn't she be offended? I hope she doesn't come, and when I get home after meeting the Alpha, I am going to explain things to her. It's that simple.

Jane sent a message via WhatsApp, "Hi Gabby, I miss you already."

"I miss you too. How is Steve? Hope you both are having a good time?" I replied to her, a smile written all over my face.

I guess Jane will be even happier when I tell her the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack is actually my mate, and we had a connection. Nah, I will exclude the intimate part.

I got engaged in the conversation, and when the Beta returned, I put my phone back in my bag and stood up with high expectations.

"Sorry for keeping you waiting, Miss," he said to me.

"It's all good. Can I meet with him now? Where is he?" I questioned with a brief smile.

"I'm afraid you are not allowed to meet the Alpha."

"What? If I may ask, why?"

"You dare ask why? When you came here lying and pretending to be his mate, why would you take such a move against your sister?"

"Please, this is just a little misunderstanding, and I promise you, I am not lying at all. Just let me see him. I wouldn't dare hurt my sister; I love her."

"I don't need your explanation, Miss. Leave now, and a warning, you are not allowed to come here again."

"Please, you have to believe me. I am not pretending. Everything I am saying is the truth."

"You are hurting me." I was kicked out of the house. I know I have been humiliated several times, but being kicked out like trash is even more painful.

I don't believe the sweet Alpha I met that night would do such a thing to me. He can't chase his mate out without even seeing me. I will clear up this misunderstanding by all means.

I can't give up just yet. I need to find a way to get in and avoid being stopped by the Beta again. But this gate is just a barrier I need to break to get in. What will I do now?

Luckily, I saw five cars about to enter the building, but they stopped the car and got out, approaching the gate. The same guy who opened up for me also opened the gate for them.

After a few minutes, I realized they were allowed to go in after their cars were searched.

This might be my only chance to get in; it seems the Moon Goddess must be on my side. I moved discreetly and slipped into the backseat of the last car. I just hope I won't end up dead in there. I heard footsteps close to the car I had entered. Closing my eyes in fear, I thought I would surely be discovered.

If news of this reaches my father, he might disown me. Fortunately, though, the people got into the car and drove it into the building's parking slot. Finally, I made it into the building without being seen. If a soothsayer were to tell me I'd have the audacity to do this, I definitely wouldn't believe it.

I waited for a few minutes, looking left and right to ensure no one was around. Once it was clear, I emerged and silently closed the car door. I entered the house and overheard the maids talking, "The meeting is still going on; it's time to serve those drinks."

Perfect timing. I suppose the Moon Goddess is still favoring me. Thank you so much, Moon Goddess. I blended in as a maid and joined them in the hall to serve drinks, standing by and waiting.

I couldn't keep my eyes off the Alpha. He was tall with blue eyes that lacked warmth. When he looked at me, I couldn't help but shiver. Glancing at his lips, I felt weird again, remembering the kiss. Why is my heart racing like this?

We served drinks to those present, and I personally served the Alpha his drink. My body shook with fear as I recalled rumors of him killing his father for power. What if this is a wrong move, and I end up dead?

"You, stay. Others, leave," he ordered, and the others departed.

"Who are you?" he inquired, leaving me frightened. I needed to calm down, to breathe. I can do this, I believe I can.

"My name is Gabriella, Alpha Aiden's daughter of the Silver Moon Pack," I replied, my eyes fixed on the ground, fingers tightly squeezed.

"You must be the girl pretending to be my mate, right? I thought I gave strict orders to my Beta to remove you."

"I can't leave without meeting you in person to correct this mistake. I was the girl with you at the masked party, your mate. We were both drunk, and you mistook me for my sister," I answered politely, hoping it would help my case.

"You are not my mate. Stop pretending and get out of here before I have you removed again," he said, his tone different from that night.

"...You know the truth. You can smell me. I am your mate," I tried to convince him, but he shattered my heart.

"Even if you were my mate, I wouldn't accept a useless omega as my Luna. I would reject you immediately," he declared, lazily toying with the glass in his hand.

I couldn't believe my mate would join in ridiculing me. My heart felt like it would stop. Struggling to make a sound, even a weak one, I managed to say, 'So you're rejecting me...'

"Yes, I, Nicklaus, Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, reject you." As he spoke these words, his blue eyes locked onto mine, impatience evident in his gaze.

I stood dumbfounded, unable to reconcile the man before me with the one from that night.

Tears streamed down my face as I left immediately, realizing it was already dark outside, and thunder rumbled, intensifying my fear. I loathed lightning. I needed to find shelter before the rain began. Going to the Blood Moon Pack was pointless; they had already warned me twice. I suppose I'll stay on the street until— Damn it. A heavy downpour started, drenching me. But as I thought about the Alpha's words, my heartbreak deepened.

Why does everyone despise me? What have I done to deserve this treatment? All I want is love and care, but instead, I'm met with hatred, rebukes, and insults from everyone.

I should be worthy of being called a Luna. That jerk—lucky for him I'm not as powerful. I would've punched him hard in the face. I wish I could go back and stop myself from attending his birthday party, avoid getting drunk, and steer clear of sleeping with him.

Lightning struck again, and in my fear, I stumbled and fell, crying out as I twisted my ankle.

I wandered in the rain for hours, but there was no sign of a taxi, vehicle, or even a person. The rain washed away my tears, but I caught a cold instantly. Shivering and weakened, my legs gave out. I collapsed to the ground, his words echoing loudly, "Even if you are my mate, I will not accept a useless omega to be my Luna. I will reject you at once."
