“What the hell was that for?”

I cried out when I finally got myself back. My face stung and tears threatened to fall from my eyes but I held back because I refused to cry in front of them.

The weak helpless girl they know is gone and will never come back.

“How could you be so heartless! We told you not to do anything! We told you not to speak to the press about what happened but you didn’t listen! Now our whole pack will be mocked!”

I stared at her in confusion because I had no idea what she was talking about.

I have never spoken to the press, not even when I returned safely. No one even knows that I am the real daughter of the family! Everyone thinks that I was adopted after some rogues abandoned me.

That’s the lie that my supposed family sold to people.

“What has she done this time?”

The father asked. He spoke as if I were a troublemaker who always causes trouble.

“What has she not done? How dare you show your face here after what you did?”

The mother asked.

“I haven’t done anything and I don’t even want to be here! I just came for my real amulet! Give it to me and I will be gone!”

I declared in anger. If not that she birthed me, I would have returned the slap she gave me.

“What amulet are you talking about and don’t even lie because I know you spoke to the press!”

I sighed deeply. She doesn’t even know about the amulet even though it’s very important to me. Even though I had worn it every day before I was kidnapped

What a joke. She never cared for me. She carried me in her womb but I mean nothing to her just because I was unfortunate enough to be kidnapped.

As if it was my fault that I got kidnapped by the rogues.

If they had cared for me, it wouldn't have happened.

“What press are you talking about?”

Felix, the oldest brother asked.

“Check your phone! The headlines are everywhere. She told them that she is the real daughter of the family.”

My eyes widened at her words. I didn’t tell anyone that.

“Did you really do that? Did you really expose the secret?”

Sasha asked in her fake sad voice. I stared in her direction. Ryan had his arms around her and she was resting on him.

I had to look away because seeing my mate do that with my sister hurt me so much.

“After how I treated you. I was kind to you. Why do you choose to be so mean to me? How do you want me to face everyone?”

Sasha continued while sobbing. Only I knew that her sobs were fake. Everyone else was taken by her and they all gathered around her to console her.

I used their distraction to check my new phone to see what the mother was talking about. The headlines shocked me.

“TROUBLE IN THE DARK MOON PACK AS ALPHA DAUGHTER TURNED OUT TO BE FAKE! WHO IS THE REAL DAUGHTER?

One of the headlines read. When I looked up again, they were all looking at me.

“It’s not me!”

I defended myself but I knew they wouldn't believe me.

“Liar! It’s you! Who else would expose the secret? Is this your revenge for being banished?”

Mother let out in anger.

“My revenge? Why would that be my revenge? It’s not me! Maybe there’s a traitor amongst you all!”

I pointed it out but no one believed me.

“You are the traitor and I want you out of this house right now! Don’t ever return to this pack!”

The father yelled at me.

“That’s not going to happen until you give me my amulet!”

I yelled right back at him.

“Don’t be so disrespectful!”

Edward scolded me but I ignored him.

“What do you expect from someone raised by rogues?”

Raymond chipped in. He had a disgusted expression. He is the one who hurt Jace’s sister. What do I expect from him? Nothing!

“Being raised by rogues is a lot better than being raised in this family! Look how you turned out to be!”

I lashed out at him and turned to the mother.

“If you want me out of your house and pack then tell him to give me back my amulet! I will leave once I get it!”

I told her. She looked at her mate who growled in anger.

“I won’t give it to you and you are going to be thrown out. Get two deltas to throw her out!”

He told brother Edward who immediately left to get the deltas.

I knew what was coming but I didn’t want to leave without the amulet. I looked around and suddenly spotted something on the father’s reading table.

“My amulet.”

I whispered to myself and raced for it immediately. Before they could realize it, I grabbed it.

I felt a sense of completeness that only the real amulet could give me. I immediately wore it. I missed it so much and should never have given it to the father.

“Give that back!”

The father said and tried to grab it from my neck but his hands just passed through it. My eyes widened in shock and so did his.

I didn’t know that could happen.

“Take it off and give it to me! Only you can give it to me. Do it now!”

He roared but I refused. I had no idea that the amulet had powers. So, if I don’t give it to him of my own will, he can’t take it from me? No wonder he swapped it.

No wonder he asked for it when I was brought back to the pack.

He knew the amulet had powers. That’s why he decided to steal it.

“I won’t give it! Now that I have my amulet back! I will leave and you won’t see me anywhere near this pack ever again.”

I declared and just before I turned to leave, I looked at Sasha one last time.

“As for you, one day, you will get tired of pretending to be good and then they will know just how terrible you really are!”

I told her and with that, I walked out of the room ignoring all their shouts for me to come back. I heard the father telling the delta to not let me leave the pack with the amulet and that’s when I decided to call Jace.

“Do you want me to come to you?”

He asked as soon as he took the call on the first ring as if he had been waiting for me to call him.

“Yes please. Hurry!”
