01~ One Hell of A Night
Hailee’s POV
Thick, hot liquid ran down my veins. Blood, anger, all at the same time. As the hairs on my neck stood from just staring at the scene before me. My head screamed at me to turn and run back in the direction I had come from, but for some reason, I just stood there staring at the terrific scene before me.
My supposed boyfriend, balls-deep, fully wrapped in the embrace of a stranger in bed. One whose face I’d never seen before.
The smell of the filthy sex they were both having, stings my nose, forcing me to clamp a grimy hand over my purse to stop a tear from slipping out, as I stood there dumbfounded not knowing what to say either.
I returned my hand to the filthy wall of Richard’s bedroom, my back pressed against the interior, and my feet planted opposite me as I tried holding back a tear from falling. After taking a deep breath that nearly had me choking on my thoughts, with eyes burning almost as much as the anger inside, I forced my legs to back away from the scene before me.
Walking into my supposed boyfriend balls-deep in a stranger wasn’t exactly how I’d expected I would be spending my evening. But then here I was anyway.
“Hailee,” His deep baritone interrupted my thoughts as my eyes rose to his.
“It’s not what you think it is,” He added, bringing my face up to meet him.
“Get your filthy hands off me!” I scowled, extricating myself from his strong grasp and then I slid past him, my breast brushing his arm as I approached the naked female who’d been in bed with him a while ago.
“Hailee please wait!” He called out, despite being right next to me he still couldn’t manage to move faster than my right fist to his jaw when he stood in front of me. Trying to block me off from taking further steps to the girl in bed.
“I’m glad she finally got to find out herself Richard,” The girl in bed said, looking so unbothered that she’d been caught and instead rose to her feet smiling back at me.
“Claire don’t!” Richard yelled from behind me.
“Let me speak, Richard!” She continued. And just when she did, I stood comfortably staring at her with my arms now wrapped over my chest. Watching her lips move.
“She was going to find out anyway,” Claire yelled.
“What is she talking about Richard?” Confusion filled the void in my head when I asked. Silence fell heavy in the room almost immediately after I’d said that as my eyes darted to Richard by the door and then back at her.
“Richard!” I grimaced.
“Oh I can see, he hasn’t told you yet,” Claire began, cutting me off from whatever it was I had to say.
“Well, Richard and I have been dating for a couple of months now, Hailee Steinfield,” She added, smiling like she’d been awarded a prize for letting the cat out of the bag.
“W-what?” Fresh terror stabbed at me as I backed away for a bit. And then tears came; streaming down my face in rivets.
“She isn’t just some stranger, but a girl you have been having an affair with for months now. Wow,” I responded.
“I have always loved you, Hailee, but I love Claire the most, she’s given more than you could in years,” Richard began.
“It’s been you and I for the last couple of years and this is all I get for being loyal and honest,” I screamed, with my fist clenched trying to hold back the tears welling up in my eyes.
“You’re wrong on that,” Richard cuts in, moving away from me, and in seconds had his arms wrapped around Claire. Right in front of me.
“She’s different and you’re not,” He added. I felt another wave of anger and hurt rush through me as I just stood there staring at Richard.
“I get it all now, I guess that happened to be the main reason you had said you wanted the week to yourself,” I continued.
“He said that just so he could spend time with me, dummy!” Claire cuts in, and then right there in front of me they both kiss.
I felt a sharp throbbing ache in my chest, as I took my gaze off both of them stepping away from what was happening in front of me. I nodded my head at them, moving away instead, with my hands wrapped tightly around my purse.
I laughed amidst my tears and we all remained in that position for a moment until I parted my lips to speak but then nothing came out.
“I see what you’re trying to do here, but one thing is for sure Richard, you’re going to regret this. I promise!” I scowled.
“Are you threatening us, Hailee?” Claire asked, her expression spoke of anger but I wasn’t bothered either.
I take in a deep breath with my arms now wrapped against my chest, and a smirk twitched to the corners of my lips.
“Now, you stay out of this young lady and keep my name out of your fucking damn mouth!” I grimaced.
Masking my once-annoyed face with a smile I said. “And as for you, Richard, we’re done!”
“When I say done, I mean done!” I yelled through gritted teeth, wishing I’d never been here in the first place.
“I’m breaking up with you!” I continued.
Instead, he stayed mute staring back at me without a word like he’d suddenly lost his speech and for some reason didn’t find it necessary to respond.
“You’ve been a fucking liar, all along!” I snarled bitterly.
“Good, you can run off to the streets because that’s where you belong,” Richard shot at me but still unable to meet my eyes.
“To the streets Hailee!” He added.
“Don’t make me walk you out of my house, you’re starting to become a nuisance here and I’d appreciate it if you leave!” Richard responded.
“I’ll leave, but mark my words, you’re going to regret this which you’ve done, I tell you!” I yelled.
