Chapter Five
“You didn’t strike me as the quiet type of person when we met earlier.” Gwaine said beside me and I fought the urge to snicker.
It would take a while before I could get used to not behaving like a nuisance. I really didn’t want to offend the Alpha but that might be hard.
‘Well you also didn’t strike me as the king type of person when we met earlier.’ I thought to myself but kept it in, shrugging in response to his words instead.
He hummed underneath his breath and for some reason I found the small, useless action attractive.
Truth was, there was not a part of this man that I didn’t find attractive and that scared me beyond anything I could explain.
This was Alpha Gwaine Stone. Supreme leader of the werewolves, rumors went around that he had been chosen by the Moon Goddess her self to rule over us all as the Alpha King.
I mean, not that I believed the rumor personally, I still very much think that he might have been elected by a group of other Alphas, or he might have won a great challenge to secure the position as king, either way, it didn’t change the fact that he was important, very important.
And here I was, sharing a ride with him to his home.
Me, Cat, the lowly, undeserving, latent omega. It was hard to believe.
As we rode together in the back seat of his luxurious car I couldn’t help the thoughts that filled my mind.
I had no idea how this would go? Why did he purchase me? Was this a question I could ask him? What was acceptable and what wasn’t?
I had lived most of my life as a trouble maker. It was all I knew, it was the way that I survived . I didn’t understand the rules of proper decorum, hospitality or the social protocols that his life demanded. How the hell was I supposed to blend into his world without having my head taken at some point?
The journey to his home was surprisingly smooth and uneventful, after the first couple exchange of words, it had remained quiet between us and that bothered me more than it eased me. I wasn’t used to being this silence on purpose.
Finally the car was pulling into a sprawling countryside mansion and all the breath left my lungs at the elegance of the place. It was beautiful, the kind of place I never though I'd ever see in my life.
Gwaine didn’t give me the two seconds I needed to appreciate the beauty of the architecture around me. Instead he took giant strides to get to the front door and my short legs struggled to catch up with him not wanting to be left behind.
The moment he pulled open the doors to the house, my breath seized in my throat at the interior of the place, but I didn’t get a moment to even look around as I was immediately been pulled towards the grand stairs that sat opposite the entry way.
“She will join me for dinner.” Gwaine’s voice said behind me, but I couldn’t even look behind at him because the hands on me continued to pull me almost painfully in the direction they wanted me to go.
“L-let go of me. What is your problem? All you have to do is ask me to come with you, why do you have to pull me with you like some sort of dog?” I berated the four girls that I could see that had a hold on me.
But my words were ineffective, I was pushed into a room and current clothes were literally ripped off my body, leaving me to shiver from the cold gust of air that kissed my skin as it was exposed.
“What is wrong wit-“ I had begun to say again in annoyance when one of the girls hissed at me.
“Shut up. If you complain this much, you’ll find yourself in a lot of trouble with the Master.” She said.
Eww. The Master? How cringe. Was that what they called him? Why?
I didn’t get the opportunity to ask anymore questions because I was pulled into the large and forced into the large tub in the center of the space that could comfortably fit five people.
The girls began scrubbing and washing every inch of my body. One of them began washing and untangling my long hair, while the rest focused on washing the rest my body. Like all werewolves, I didn’t hold any sort of shyness when it came to my naked body, but I felt conscious having these strangers run their hands through my body against my wish.
It would have been relaxing and enjoyable if I had actually had a say in what they were doing but considering that I couldn’t even understand why they had decided to bath me from head to toe in the first place, I was confused and upset with the situation.
Once they were done, a towel was wrapped around my head and body and I was led back into the room were after drying me off, they began oiling me thoroughly, after which I was forced into a dress.
“Ten more minutes.” The girl that had hissed at me when I asked the first question said, and the rest of the girls nodded robotically at her words.
My hair was quickly dried and style and a gloss was added to my lip, before a set of beautiful sandals were strapped to my ankle.
The image of myself that stared back at me from the mirror wasn’t one that I recognized, I had never seen myself look so glamorous. From head to toe, I looked and felt much better than I knew that I actually was.
Every inch of my skin was glowing and the oil that they had applied gave it the glossy toppings that it needed. The dress looked like it had been made for a princess and it highlighted my eyes. But of course, I wasn’t allowed the time or space to probably admire myself.
“Come on. There’s no time to drool over yourself. Master is downstairs already.” The one girl said again making the others nod in agreement, this time gently pulling me in the direction she wanted me to go.
I wanted to yell at her for treating me like her puppet but a more important question raged through my mind, how did she know that he was waiting already? And what the hell was even going on?
Last I remembered, I had been purchased and I assumed I would have been brought here and used as some sort of maid who had to clean and cook for the man till I had been able to hopefully pay my debt, but here I was being plucked, primed and prodded till I looked like a princess from a damn movie.
“Do not make eye contact with him and keep your questions to yourself, you talk too much for your own food.” The girl said, pushing open a door and gently pushing me inside.
I wanted to cuss her out for assuming I was a talkative. I had only asked some very important and valid questions. That wasn’t enough to be labeled a talkative. I didn’t get the chance to tell her all of this because she closed the door and when I turned around it was to find the Alpha at the end of the table in the most beautiful dining room I ever saw.
“That took long enough. Sit down Catherine.” Gwaine said and I frowned.
I wanted to correct him about my name. I really didn’t enjoy being called by my full name and it seemed like the Alpha had somehow become best friends with that version of my name, I wanted to stop him before he got used to it, but I remembered the warning from the obnoxious girl in time.
And so I bit my tongue and moved towards the seat that he had pointed out for me before settling into it, smiling a bit when I saw the nice array of food with delicious scents.
“The girls did a really good job on you. I don’t even recognize the scrawny version of yourself that I met earlier in the day.” He said.
Conflicting emotions rushed through me. On one hand it seemed like he was complimenting me while on the other hand it sounded more like a degrading insult.
Again, my lack of social skills or respectful skills flashed before my eyes. I cleared my throat and muttered a small ‘thank you.’ It seemed to be the right thing to say because the Alpha hummed in approval.
We ate our meal in silence and I enjoyed every bit of it. Whoever had made it seemed to know what they were doing, everything seemed to be going well and fine but that was until the Alpha decided to speak again.
“You’re probably wondering why I bought you.” He said.
Bought was a really strong word in this situation. I mean, it wasn’t like I was his permanently right? Scratch that, I wasn’t his at all!
“I don’t understand.” I responded honestly.
“What part Catherine?” He said with a slight smirk and that broke the last restraint within me.
“My name is Cat!”
“Well, I bought you so you’ll serve me as a mistress. My own personal sex slave.” He said, his voice calm and sultry, feeling almost like pure silk. He didn’t even sound like he had heard my put outburst in the first place.
I just about got lost in his voice when the words that he had actually spoken rang through clearer in my head.
Did he just say Mistress? Sex slave? The one thing that had gotten me into this mess in the first place?
Hell no!
“What?” I asked to be sure. I could feel myself visibly shaking from the piece of information.
“I’m pretty sure your ears are working right Catherine. I do not like to repeat myself.”
“For Goddess sake, my fucking name is Cat! And you’re probably high on something, if you think that I would ever become a sex slave to you. I thought you were pretty decent when we met but now you’re even worse than the man I thought I was being saved from!”
The way that Gwaine’s eyes darkened at my words should have been enough to make me shut the hell up and sit back down on my seat.
But since when did I ever do as I’m supposed to do?
The door was suddenly pushed open and two really hefty men appeared from nowhere. The next words that left his lips caused me to freeze in my spot.
“The dungeons. Chained and blindfolded. Seems like a brat needs to be taught some good lessons.”
