Chapter 5: Ginger
Danielle felt awkward with their colleagues and her seniors looking at them. She forced a smile and bowed her head. She clipped her loose hairs behind her left ear. She saw that smirk on his face again as she glances at his face.
"Good morning, Mr. Neumann." Reina greeted instead, saving her from another embarrassment.
She looked at Reina who clearly looks so surprised that he knows her. Then Reina’s face turned into a warning, with a You-better-explain-this-to-me-later look on her face. She smiled at her weakly.
The guys Gary and Peter came back with plates of food in their hands. Clearly surprised to see their new boss standing next to them. They bowed slight and greeted the man with respect.
Parker nodded at them before looking at her again. "I'll see you again, Miss Summers." He said and excused himself from the rest.
She watched him walking away. He then left the hall after talking to Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Jacobs before leaving through the exit door with his bodyguard waiting for him.
They bombarded her questions when they're left alone at the table. She explained that it was just a normal encounter with him at the elevator last Friday. She left the other embarrassing encounters to herself.

The interns were asked to be in the conference room after lunch time. Gary and Peter were sitting next to her while the other three interns were seated to the other side of the glass table.
Mrs. Jacobs came in with folders on her hand. They were on their feet, greeting her. She smiled back as she sat on one of the chairs and placing the folders on the table before she clasped her hands. "You all met the new owner of this company Mr. Parker Neumann earlier today. I'm sure you've also heard some rumors about him looking for a personal secretary."
The room is still quiet. Mrs. Jacobs tapped on the folders. "He asked me to send your files for him to review. He wanted an intern to be his personal assistant and personally train you. I will be submitting these to him today and please expect by tomorrow to have a one on one interview with him at his office at the suite floor." She announced referring to the 125th floor of their building.
She swallowed hard. The idea of her meeting him again sends chills on her spine. But her inner slutty muse is all fired up, as if she’s finally heard her calling.
"I expect you all to be your best self tomorrow and focus on the matter at hand. One of you will be helping him manage his time schedule, review contracts and work for him closely. This is your opportunity to learn the business on a different perspective and it is a rare opportunity so grab it and never let it pass."
They all nodded in agreement. The short meeting ended. They left for their tables and started working. Reina immediately went to her table and started asking her about the meeting. She told her that rumors are true about Mr. Neumann hiring a personal assistant from the legal department.
"I will miss you, Danielle." She said with a long face.
"What? Why? What are you talking about?" She asked her, trying her best not to think that she's implying she'll get the job.
"I'm sure you'll get the job." Reina just said the words she's refusing to accept in her head.
"Reina! People would hear you!" Danielle’s eyes wide as she looked around, making sure no one heard Reina.
Reina rolled her eyes, leaned towards her and whispered. "Did you see how he looked at you this morning while doing his speech and joining us for a minute to greet you?"
She looked at her in disbelief, shaking her head. "You're being ridiculous!"
"I'm not! He looks at you like he wants you for himself! He practically made up this secretarial job to be with you!"
"Reina!"
She crossed her arms on her chest. "I think it's because of your hair." Reina concluded.
"What's wrong about my hair?"
"Silly! There's nothing wrong with your hair!" She snorted. "Based on my wide research and rumors on the internet, he likes dating red heads!"
"You're crazy!" She chuckled, dismissing her idea.
"You can google it if you want. You'll see I'm right!" She winked before leaving her table. "Don't forget to invite me on your wedding!"
She hushed her from across the table and Reina just giggled.
That can’t be true! There’s no way he’d like someone like me just because I’m a ginger!
Out of curiosity, she found herself opening a browser on her office computer and started looking at photos of their new boss, Parker Neumann, with red heads or ginger models and personalities on different social events.
No way!
