Chapter 12: It's Dangerous
Danielle busied herself reviewing the contracts prepared for their clients. It's been two hours since Harvey arrived.
She's been trying her best to focus but all she could hear right now are her thoughts about the kiss. Her inner slutty muse all fired up, obviously delighted with the kiss she shared with Parker, jumping up and down in triumph!
She sighed heavily. She doesn't know what to think. She's confused. Talking to him would definitely be awkward after that kiss! She found herself touching her lips as she remembered how his lips were patiently waiting for her to open up and kiss him back.
She sure can't deny that he had the most expert tongue. Not that she's got other experiences to compare it with. For her first kiss, it was definitely something she cannot forget. It’s something that opened her eyes to experience something new and beautiful. She would definitely crave for it like how much she craves for her favorite pancakes. She feels hungry all of a sudden.
She bites her lower lip, realizing she just experienced how he kisses his woman. She swallowed hard when she remembered how his tongue slowly invaded her mouth when she heard his voice.
“Miss Summers?" Parker called her from his office door. "Are you free for lunch?"
She nodded, frozen on her seat and just looking at him.
"Good. We'll have lunch with father." He said, slightly smiled at her. For some reason, her heart skipped a beat. It was the first time he saw him smile genuinely. "Please clear my afternoon."
She nodded again.
How can he act like we didn’t share that hot passionate kiss in his office?
••••••
Danielle stepped inside the black Porsche Turbo after Parker's driver-bodyguard named Felix was introduced to her. He’s the same guy Parker was with on her first day at Neumann’s.
She felt nervous thinking she'll be alone with Parker inside the car. They're on their way to the Italian restaurant Parker called himself for a reservation.
Harvey Neumann went straight to his own Classic Rolls-Royce which was waiting for him in the company entrance.
She swallowed hard. They were silent as Felix closed the door and started driving.
She looked outside of the window, trying her best to ignore the tension between her and Parker.
The car stopped in front of a designer boutique. Parker stepped out and offered his right hand, inviting her to come out.
"Why are we stopping?" She asked, confused.
He looked at her from head to toes. "I don't like you wearing that blouse and skirt. It's too..." He paused, obviously thinking hard to say the best word to describe her outfit. "...revealing."
She looked at herself. "Revealing? You're probably exaggerating." She rolled her eyes. She's wearing her peach sleeveless button down blouse tucked in her white mid-thigh lace pencil skirt paired with her nude pointed-toe high heels.
“Fine.” He took a deep breath before he answered. “It’s dangerous.”
“What? What’s so dangerous about—“ She stopped talking when she realized what he meant about her clothes being dangerous. She could feel her face getting warm in embarrassment, remembering their kiss.
He ignored her and placed his hand lightly on her back, pushing her to walk inside the boutique while they were greeted by the attendant. He started picking up skirts, blouses and a few corporate dresses, handing each item to the attendant.
She took one of the skirts and looked at the price. Her eyes widened in shock. "No, no, no." She started putting them back to the rack. "I cannot afford them. Please just put them back." She begged the young attendant.
Confused, the woman looked at Parker who nodded in agreement. He picked one black knee-length leather pencil skirt and an aqua blouse with a fancy collar. "Change." He ordered Danielle.
"I'll pay for these." She told him.
He nodded just to quickly end the conversation and started typing on his phone. She then went to the fitting room and changed. The young woman took her old clothes and placed them inside a paper bag.
"Better." He whispered in her ear as they walked outside going to his car. She was about to step into his car when she noticed Felix carrying a dozen of bags from inside the boutique and put them at the back of the car. She was about to protest when he slightly pushed her inside.
"What the hell were those bags for?" She couldn't stop herself anymore, sounding irritated.
"Clothes." He answered still typing on his phone, ignoring her tone. "And language please, Miss Summers.” He warned her.
She rolled her eyes as kept quiet next to Parker on the back seat, helpless and upset that he bought those clothes without her approval.
"I'll pay for those." She insisted, she tried her very best to calm down.
He looked at her face. "Sure."
She's now left in deep thought on how to pay for those expensive clothes he bought for her.
This is so crazy! This man is so fucking crazy! Those clothes sure cost a fortune! She thought to herself.
