CHAPTER FIVE:

He was in awe of the beautiful angel in virginal white dress drifting towards him, he marveled on how he got so lucky to make someone so gorgeous and sexy his bride.

She tripped as she climbed the mistletoe to join him to stand in front of the priest and he steadied her, holding onto her slim waist.

He pressed his lips to her ears, “You are so beautiful”.

She shot him a dazzling smile from beneath her veil.

“You are not so bad yourself”. She replied and the priest cleared his throat, effectively silencing the couple.

He started with some prayers and hymns which was unheard by the couple who were lost in their own beautiful world. When it was time for the vows, he cleared his throat again and said.

“It is time for your vows, Mr. Dylan Compton…” He said and Dylan nodded, taking his bride’s hand.

“Nyssa, I have prepared so many speeches and none of them are adequate enough to show you how much I love you and how lucky I am to be with you.” His words caught in his throat and he went silent, emotions racking through him.

“You got this man!” someone cheered from the crowd and Dylan nodded, continuing.

“I once believed love was vain and useless but you taught me how wrong I was. The sun and moon rises in your eyes and I just want you to know that I promise to be with you no matter what comes and to spend the rest of my life showing you how much I love you. I have always thought hell meant a fiery fire burning me into a crisp but I was wrong, a life without your love is hell itself.

“I do not promise you a perfect marriage but I do assure you that we would work through our imperfections together. I vow to always put a smile on your face and if tears are to fall from these beautiful eyes of yours, it would be tears of joy. I love you beyond words could explain and I would never hurt you intentionally. It would give me the greatest pleasure and honor to be by your side forever.” He concluded and the crowd gave rounds of applauses, thoroughly impressed and captivated by his heartfelt speech.

“Miss Vanessa darego, your vows”. The priest said with a soft smile. She took a deep breath and looked at him through her veil.

“Dylan, I was broken when you found me, reduced to the lowest I could ever be, prepared to give up on love and life, you strengthened me and gave me a reason to believe in the whole concept of love. I would have breathed my last if not for you and for that I am eternally grateful and thankful to you. I love you with every fiber of my soul and I vow to be yours even till after death do us part, our love will survive till infinity. I do not expect a perfect marriage from you; all I desire is your love and unwavering support.”

She paused slightly and then added with a cheeky smile. “I promise to stand by your decisions, the reasonable ones at least”.

The crowd burst out in giggles which soon turned out to be a full blown laughter.

“I am honored you want me by your side forever, I love you Dylan Compton”. She finished and the crowd whooped and clapped, the atmosphere filled with love. The pastor asked both couples to exchange their rings and repeat the standard vows after him.

“Now, who here doesn’t wish for Mr. Compton and Miss Vanessa to be man and wife should stand up and make his or her thoughts known or be silenced forever.” He announced and the couple looked apprehensively at the crowd.

She turned a sheet white and a small gasp escaped her lips when she saw a man standing up really slowly from a chair at the back seat.

Everything seemed to pause and all eyes turned to look at the intruder. She held her breath as he turned around and left the garden and wedding ceremony. The breath coming out in a whoosh as her shoulders sagged in relief.

The pensive atmosphere dissolved and the moment we’ve all been waiting for comes and the priest pronounced them man and wife. “You may kiss your bride”.

He lifted the veil over her face and carefully pushed it over her hair. “Our love is forever.” He whispered against her soft lips, kissing her tenderly. He brushed his lips over hers, and returned some color to her pale skin.

“Always and forever, now kiss me like you want to fuck me right here, right now”. She whispered back, tugging him down by his tie and he kissed her, biting her lips and tongue roughly.

She moaned into the kiss and the crowd whooped urging the couples to go get a room. They finally disentangled and began the walk to their car; the crowd threw rice and flowers at the newly wedded couple.

When she got to the car, she threw her bouquet behind her and her best friend caught it without even planning to. She shrieked and ran to hug her best friend; her husband had to come take her into the waiting vehicle.

“Mrs. Compton, you do not want to be late to your own wedding reception”. He whispered, carrying her into the vehicle***
