Chapter 5

I was so ashamed of myself that I couldn't even enter my father's house. I knelt down at the entrance of the house and called out to my father.

He came out of the house only to see me on my knees. I pleaded for his forgiveness as my face was bowed to the ground. I just couldn't face him, for I have brought nothing but shame to his household.

My father just couldn't stand and watch his precious jewel in pains; so he lifted me above the floor, gave me a warm hug and took me into the house. Cletus on the other side had informed all his relatives and kinsmen of his intentions to come pay my dowry, and they were ready to come along with him.

My father as well had done same, and they all prepared themselves for the special day. The day was here and everyone assembled at my father's house for the joyous occasion. All the kinsmen form my father's house was present, same as those from Cletus side.

Cletus was sitting down covered in shame. He wasn't able to look my father to the eyes. One of the elders from Cletus side stood up and opened the ground. He apologized to my father for all the trouble and shame that Cletus and i has brought to him. He called us youths of the present generation and said that we were blinded by our love for each other.

He pleaded with Adolphus my father to tamper justice with mercy. I couldn't blame my father if he was angry at us, for he had every right to be mad at his offenders, and I was no exception.

Elizabeth pleaded that her son be considered, and given a second chance to make things right. She said that she was not in support of our decision at first for if she was the one in my father's shoe, and that she might would have done worst.

Cletus who was my main partner in crime went down on his knees, and apologized to my father for his mischievous act.

My father heart was overwhelmed with joy that he just couldn't control it anymore. He forgave everyone of us, and asked Cletus to sit down.

My father called me his one and only favorite daughter; for I was the only daughter of his one and only beloveth wife Agatha. He thanked God for letting him see a day like this.

I was happy that I had fulfilled my promise to my father, and I have succeeded in shutting every single mouth that mocked and gossiped about my marriage.

The celebration was quite a big one. Every single person that attended the celebration, had eaten to their satisfaction. My father was indeed a happy man. After all set and done, I went home with Cletus; and for the very first time I felt like a complete wife and daughter in-law.

That night was quite a blissful one, for Cletus and i felt fully married and we had a romantic night together. I stretch my legs open, and he is on top of me. Too heavy to hold, and too light not to. He puts his thing in me, and I wrap my feet around his back so he can’t get away. His face is next to mine.

The bedsprings sounds like crickets were on it. He puts his fingers in mine, and we stretched our arms outwise like Jesus on the cross. I hold on tight. My fingers and my feet hold on tight, because everything else is going on hard. After he was done riding me up an down. He finally released inside of me and left my thing wet and satisfied. He was actually good at what he does.

A year passed by, and I was still unable to conceive a child. I was already beginning to feel barren. I wondered what could be wrong with me, for I knew I was a complete woman, and a pretty one at that. How could I have known that my situation was also a huge burden to my father that he had to send for me to come over.

I went over to my father's house to know why I was summoned. The next day, my father took me to see a sorcerers, on a quest for answers to why am yet to conceive. I was so happy, for even if my mother was no more in existence, I still had a father that did and cared more than most women would do. At least I knew that I had someone to turn to in my difficult moment.

The sorcerers look into my palms and told me that it was just a matter of time before I become a mother. I was stunned on hearing this, for I had not even told the sorcerers my reason for coming.

She told me that in a month time I must have conceived of a child in my womb. She told me to my face that I had lots of children in my womb, but I just had to be patient for them to surface. I was so happy on hearing such a good news on an early morning.

I thanked my father for not abandoning me to suffer alone, after wish I gave him a big, tight hug and went off to break the news to my husband. People had already started gossiping about me.

"She thought that it's all about being beautiful. It is obvious to everyone now that she most be a mermaid". These and more were said behind my back.

I got home and broke the news to my husband. But I pleaded with him not to inform his mother Elizabeth, for I wanted to confirm the prophecy first. Cletus was happy on hearing this news, and even agreed not to inform his mother about it.
