Chapter 03: An Unforgettable Coming-of-Age Ceremony

The rooms, inside and outside, were packed with onlookers from school. They frantically took photos and posted them on the school forum and Instagram.

I stared at the pile of designer brands scattered all over the floor, clenching my fists hard with the veins on the back of my hands bulging.

Yet, Eartha was not satisfied with this. She gestured to her bodyguards to drag me out. “What are you doing!!!” I screamed in terror.

Feeling the bodyguards' hands on my bare thighs and arms, I shivered. Eartha aimed her camera at my disheveled body, even zooming in on my face.

The more I screamed, the more triumphant she became. “You seduced my husband, you have to pay a price! Today, I will give you a memorable coming-of-age ceremony to teach you how to be responsible for your actions as an adult!”

She then turned to the girls who were watching her. “Look at what you are wearing! Your skirts are so short, like prostitutes!” I guess many of you have been mistresses! Today, I’m exposing her actions to the public, and I’ll see if the school take any actions against you girls!”

Some girls couldn't tolerate her slander and wanted to defend themselves, but were stopped by others nearby. “Don't provoke her, her husband has a lot of influence. See, he could arrange a wedding on our sports field?”

I was already too exhausted to struggle. They carried me to the ceremony site. The venue was ready, and the students had started to take their seats.

Eartha grabbed my hair and dragged me onto the stage, then let go of me , causing me to fall onto the stage. My screams echoed throughout the auditorium. I was in a complete mess.

Someone in the crowd said, “She is Eleanore?” “What happened to her?” “I heard she seduced someone's husband, and his wife came to beat her up!”

I covered my face, not wanting more people to recognize me, hoping my father would come soon.

Eartha Gill picked up the microphone and said loudly. “She is the one from your school! She seduced someone's husband! And she deliberately scheduled my wedding on the same day as her coming-of-age ceremony! I've never seen someone so shameless!” “As an adult, you need to learn how to behave! The official immediately bowed and apologized profusely. On the stage, I used my bruised arms to shakily stand up and asked loudly, “Eartha Gill, you ruined my coming-of-age ceremony, do you not care about your own wedding either?” She appeared surprised, came up to me, grabbed my hair, “Threatening me?” Then, sneering, she pointed at me and told everyone in the livestream and the audience, “She's threatening me, didn’t you see it?
