Chapter 1
"You are a pain in the ass."
"Is that a way to talk to your boss?"
She shrugged not looking up from her work.
"I'm not that bad. But I like the first one that was interviewed. Don't you think it should only be my choice?"
"I am the business manager of this company. It is my job to see if she is good enough for the job or not. Then you make the final decision." She said opening the folder and giving it to him.
"Well the CV is good. What else do you need?". He huffed."Give me the Sensala report." Jason huffed leaning back.
"I'll review her CV, along with the others tonight and I will let you know, tomorrow morning." She said standing up and taking the folders with her after handing him the one he needed."I'm going back to my office."
He sighed leaning back. "Fine. I'll be at your place at 8 with dinner."
She stopped as she was about to open the door. "Did I invite you?"
"I don't need an invitation." He said looking back at his computer."Get back to work."
Rude.
Victoria playfully rolled her eyes before getting out of the office.
As soon as the door, she let out a breath and made her way to the elevator.
For the three years she has known Jason, she always seemed calm to others, but if only they knew how fast her heart beats when he's close, or how hard she was trying to hide whatever feelings she had for him.
Three years.
It only took him a couple of months to win her heart. And the scary part is that he didn't know about it.And she was just supposed to learn by his side. He was her mentor. She was supposed to just learn from him.
But here she was. She got the job she wanted at her age, thanks to his training. She was the business manager of his company. But her own feelings were a mess.
She was 24. She was hoping to fall in love by now. But not like this. And especially not her mentor, who was now her boss.
Even though, he was more than her boss. He was her friend. Maybe that was her first mistake.Being this comfortable around him.
But Jason doesn't like a lot of people. So if he wanted to be her friend, why would she refuse? He has always been nice to her. Always making sure she was comfortable the first time she stepped foot in the company.
She was just supposed to learn from him. But spending her days with and following his moves created their friendship which led to love on her side.
Sighing loudly, she finally reached her office and decided to get back to work. The only moments when she doesn't think of him.
Much.

At the end of the day, she just left knowing he was going to come anyways with.
She was grateful. Thanks to him and his training, she had the job she always wanted.
It all started with a test her college did choosing a couple of the best students. And she was chosen since she had the best grade.
Jason put his expectations high and told her that if she did her very best, he would give her a position. He pushed her to her limits and taught her a lot. He was very hard working and strict.
So she did her very best, never wanting to fail him. She did her best to impress him and he was.She has the position for a year now and she is still doing her best to impress him.
She sighed getting into her car and driving home.
****
Victoria just had walked in her living-room, after showering and changing.
"I brought chinese." Jason's voice startled her as he walked in the living-room of her penthouse.
"How do you always get in?" She asked seriously. "If you got my keys without me knowing, you better tell me now."
"I don't need keys to get in places." He replied walking to her kitchen like it was his house.
"Make yourself feel at home." She said sarcastically.
"I already did." He smiled opening the bags. "How are you?"
"Good. You?"
He shrugged. "Fine."
"Give it." I said grabbing the bags. "You're slow. And I'm starving."
"You eat a lot, but where does it go?"
She furrowed her eyebrows as she stuffed food in her mouth.
"What do you mean 'where does it go'? I'm not skinny."
"Yes you are." He said grabbing a box. "Just not bony. But you eat for ten men."
Victoria coughed a little. "So, I reviewed all the CV and I think Cindy Kyle would be good to be your new PA."
"Well I trust your judgement."
"I'm talking about her CV. She could be a witch. I wouldn't know."
"We'll see about about that. Call her and tell her she starts on Monday."
"I will." She sighed. "But you're gonna have to be nicer."
"Nope."
She chuckled. "You can't keep being like this."
"I am nice to you. That's all I can do for now."
"I'm not talking about me. I am not your PA."
He leaned forward. "Well I'm talking about you. And I said being nice to you is all I can do."
"Being nice is gonna get you a woman faster."
He scoffed.
"I'm not changing for anyone." He said with a small smile.
"Whatever you say."
"What about you? I saw a couple of guys hitting on you in the company."
She gulped lightly. "Not hitting on me. Just talking." She said and he raised an eyebrow at her.
They were hitting on me.
"Just remember what I told you." He said and she nodded lightly.
He told her that he didn't want her to have any distractions, anything to keep her from focusing on her career. And that included dating. Not that she mind because she wanted to stay focused.
But now she's done with her training, and she has an actual post in his company. She should think about it.
She has seen Jason dating some women. But it never lasted long.
Jason was thirty and ever since she knew him, he never liked whiny women. He wanted to settle, but only with a woman who will make his life better, not a whiny one who will only add problems.
His gaze moved to Victoria and they narrowed slightly.
A woman like her.
He has his company, but she has been his rock ever since she started working with him. She was his counselor and he never took any decision without asking for her opinion first.
After all he trained her. But he also learned quite a lot from her. The only woman, out of his family, who didn't annoy him after a while.
Hopefully he will find a woman who won't annoy him after a couple of weeks.

The lawyer nodded as his client took the seat in front of him.
"You better have good news."
"If everything goes well, you can be released in a couple of weeks." The lawyer said looking at his client.
"But the smallest trouble, and you will be back here and for good."
"Just do what you have to do." The man in the orange suit groaned.
"Well, I'll start working on it, Mr. Knight."
25 years. 25 years.
They locked him here like an animal while they enjoyed their lives outside.
25 years.
The little bastard must have been in charge by now.
And they talked about family.
His mother was the only person who came to visit him a couple before a messenger told him that she was dead.
Not that he gave a fuck. She could go to hell for all he cared.
Hunter.
That son of a bitch.
Brother. And he never came to visit. Not once. And he called himself a brother.
But I will be out soon, He thought.
