Chapter 12
I was in my bath robe when I walked out of the bathroom after finishing my makeup, after finally making my mind about this date.
I still can't believe I said yes. But I can at least give it a try and-
"Where are you going?"
I yelled and flipped around as my hand flew to my chest. "You scared me Jason."
He looked at my appearance before his eyes settled on my face. "Where are you going?"
"Weren't you supposed to be with your dad?" I asked looking at him.
"I told him to move it to tomorrow." He said. "Now answer me."
"I'm going out."
"Where?"
I gulped looking up at him. "I... I have a date."
He furrowed his eyebrows. "A date?"
"Yes."
"With who?" He asked walking further in the room.
"The guy I met at a cafe. I told you about him."
"And you didn't tell me about that date today? You didn't tell me you gave him your number either." He asked moving closer to me.
"I was going to but I didn't think it was urgent."
He looked at me seriously. "I told you that I didn't want anything distracting you from your work."
"You said that when I was still your student. Now I have a job, Jason. And I'm not going to stay alone forever."
"You are not going to be alone. You just don't need to go on this damn date." He hissed and I dropped my head shaking it lightly.
"Yes, I do. I need to finish getting ready. We'll talk about it later."
"Weren't we supposed to go out?" He asked and I laughed humourlesly.
"You canceled on me." I stated pointing at him.
He stared at me hardly before taking his jacket off followed by his tie.
"What are you doing?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows looking at him as he moved to my bed and dropping on it.
"Just resting. You finish getting ready."
I sighed and walked into my closet to put my dress on.
I seriously don't understand him.
Since it doesn't bother him that I'm going on a date, then maybe I really should go on this date and forget about him.
I placed my dress on the dresser and started looking for the shoes I could wear.
I furrowed my eyebrows when I heard the lock of my bedroom door turn.
"Jason, what are you doing?" I called and was even more confused when I didn't hear an answer.
I walked out of the closet and and saw him laying back on the bed.
"What are you doing?" I asked again as my eyes moved from the door to him.
"You're not going." He said.
"What is wrong with you?" I glared at him. "Open the door. Dean will be here soon."
"No." He said grabbing the remote and turning my TV on.
I huffed moving closer to the side of the bed.
"Jason stop playing." I sighed walking back to the closet to finish getting ready.
I looked at the time and quickly grabbed my dress when I saw that I had ten minutes left.
If Jason is here, does that mean that he will meet Dean.
I don't know why but that thought made me uneasy. I didn't want them to meet.
Or maybe I'm just being paranoid.
Being paranoid or not, my heartbeat literally increased when I heard my door bell.
Already? He's early.
"Jason, can you answer the door, please?"
I walked back out to see him just laying there changing the channels like he just didn't hear the door bell ring.
"Jason, didn't you hear me?"
"If I open the door to him, you will wish I hadn't." He said not moving his eyes from the TV.
"But I'm not dressed yet." I said and he didn't move. "Okay Then. Give me the keys, I'll do it myself."
I walked closer to the bed pulling my hand out.
"I told you you're not going."
"Jason, stop it." I said and the door bell rang again. "Give me the keys."
"No."
I opened my mouth and my phone started ringing.
Dean.
Before I can grab, Jason did first before declining the call.
"Have you lost it?" I asked getting angry as he just turned my phone off."Who do you think you are? Give me my phone Jason. And my keys!"
"That's your fault for liking these types of locks. Fancy but old fashioned. You can't trust them." He smiled shoving my phone into his pocket.
"You must be joking right?"
"Since when do you know me as a joking person." He said and I looked at him confused when I saw that he was actually serious.
"Are you insane?"
He shrugged before moving his gaze back to the TV and grabbed the hand that had the keys in them.
"Jason, stop it." I said angrily forcefully trying to open his hand.
"You are not going anywhere, Victoria."
"And who are you to decide that? Stop this now and open the door." I said angrily glaring at him.
He moved his gaze to me. "You look beautiful." He said trying to stroke my cheek but I slapped his hand away.
I gasped when I heard the doorbell ringing again. My eyes widened at Jason who has his eyes on me.
"Jason. Give me the keys."
"No."
"You must joking. Jason, he will leave." I said tiredly. "Please stop this."
He shrugged again and moved his eyes back to the TV. I looked at him in disbelief when I realized that he was actually serious.
I let out a sigh and I felt like I was about to cry in frustration. I just groaned lowly and sat on the floor crossing my legs.
The door bell didn't ring since the last time, so I'm assuming Dean left.
"Why are you mad?" Jason asked and turned my head to glare at him.
He has the audacity to ask.
I stood up and pointed at the door still glaring at him.
"Because Dean left, you idiot. And I wanted to go on this date."
"I can take you on a date."
I stomped my foot angrily. "No. I want a date with someone I can be in a potential relationship with."
"That's my point. Go on a date with me."
"I wouldn't be the way I am with you if I didn't have feelings for you."
"What?"
Excuse me for being slow. But I'm gonna need him to repeat that.
"I don't really want to repeat myself about these kind of love stuff. So I will say it once and for all. I have feeling for you. More than a friend. So unless you just go away and change your identity. You are not going on any date." He said seriously.
I just stood there not knowing what to say.
Oh. My. God.
"Now do you want me to take you out or do you want to order something and watch a movie." He added looking into my eyes.
I looked at him completely shocked and out of words. My heart was beating way too fast.
He likes me?
If he wasn't in front of me, I would probably be jumping around. And my face would probably be red if it wasn't for my brown complexion.
"So?"
"Umh... Order is fine." I said slowly.
"Then go change. I'll make the call."
**Before Jason went to Victoria's house**
** Third POV **
"So you're seriously not going to tell dad that you had plans tonight." Sebastian asked as he waited for his brother to finish his work.
"I already told Victoria." Jason sighed his eyes not leaving the screen.
"Remember all those stories about dad being stup- not smart and loosing five years with mom?" Sebastian started and Jason laughed.
"Nice! Stup- not smart." He smiled. "I know. I spent a lot of time watching mom pretend she didn't want to kill him. Vague memories but some are still clear."
His brother narrowed his eyes at him. "Shut up. He has ears everywhere. Anyways, but that I mean that I know you fucking like her and don't want to admit it or do anything about it and I wanna know fucking why?"
"Just give up. Now is not the time. She's only been official in this company for a damn year."
"Okay then, while you make your maths, she can be dating other men right?" He asked. "Because you won't make a move on her. You wouldn't mind."
Jason stopped typing and turned to look at him. Sebastian smirked wiggling his eyebrows.
"Now we are getting somewhere."
"No we're not."
Sebastian laughed lowly. "Why are you so damn stubborn? Just go see her. I saw you trying to find things about Dean Kyle."
Jason looked at him in annoyance. "Do I need to change my password for you to stop going through my computer?"
Seb just ignored his question. "Since he is not an employee or anything. Why would you try to find things about him?"
"It's none of your fucking business." Jason groaned slamming his computer close.
"See? That's the type of reaction that shows me that it has something to do with Victoria." He said. "I know you so well. I should get an award."
"If you are so good with relationships. Why are you still single?" Jason asked narrowing his eyes at him.
"I like variety and I'm not the one in love here." Sebastian shrugged and waited.
Jason sighed rubbing his face with his hands.
His fucker of a brother has a point though, as much as he hated to admit it.
"And you didn't deny it." Sebastian looked at him in fake disappointment. "Like I said. Smart but stupid with one woman. What did they teach you in Harvard?"
"So what? Am I supposed to just call dad and cancel with him?"
"Yes!" Sebastian exclaimed. "We can do it tomorrow or something."
Jason sighed and grabbed his phone, dailing his father's number.
Well then, someone just needed a boost, Sebastian thought as he watch his brother talk to his father.
He stood up when he saw Jason hanging up before standing.
"Where are you going?"
"None of your business." Jason hissed walking toward the door.
"You're going to see your Vicky."
"None of your business."
"You are! I am the only man with an actual heart in this family." He said. "But I'm always right."
"Whatever." Jason muttered walking out of the office.
"Don't thank me. That would be too nice." He yelled with a grin following his brother.
