Lizzy POV

Winter is starting to kick in, and it is getting slightly cold, "you ready?" Miles asks, we are getting ready for the Welcoming party for Marco as the new CEO. "Well then let's go" he snarls, rolling my eyes we make our way over to the car and drove in complete silence.

Many would ask themselves why am I still with this man, to be quiet honest I don’t know as well. It’s as if he has this hold on me. The thought of evoked fear within me, fear of the unknown, fear of being alone again. After I lost my parents my world fell apart, I sinked into this depression, I felt like a nobody, to make matters worse I put on so much weight.

How I wish the circumstances were different, I know for a fact I wouldn’t be stuck in this hell hole I call ‘marriage’.

However I do also ask myself why is he still with me if I disgust him so much, it makes no sense. He has the money, so he can easily kick me out and be with absolutely anyone.

Reaching the office we make our way out, getting in there, the music was loud but not too loud , drinks, food, grabbing a glass of champagne, "Liz!" I look over to see one of Miles' coworkers, "Marcus! Hey how you doing" I smile, reaching in for a hug, at which he returns, "I haven't seen you in such a long time" he laughs, "how have you been doing", "I'm great how's Janet and the kids" I ask referring to his wife, "oh they doing just great you should come over some time" he beams, "I most definitely will" I smile reassuringly, our conversation is interrupted by that beautiful deep Italian accent, "Good evening" "evening", everyone said, "well I'm not going to waste your time cause most of you already know I don't like mine wasted" he jokes making everyone release a light laugh, "but seriously though, as I'm here, I'm not here to fire anyone, I'm not here to scream at people all day, I'm here to make sure that this company grows to it's full potential along with everyone in it. Running something as big as this enterprise takes team work and most of all hard work, as your new CEO and owner I am going to make sure you ladies and gentlemen as my employees and a team take this company somewhere and you go somewhere, but now it's up to you if you want to work with me or not. I won't lie, I will be making changes there and there but do believe me it will be for the benefit of this enterprise and yours, so I would like to make a toast, to growth! " "to growth!" Everyone repeated and took a sip of their champagne. The party continued but I couldn't seem to find Miles anywhere since we came in. Making my way towards the bathroom I push open the door to be met with what makes my heart drop.........
