VISIT GRANDFATHER
Knox WeChat is under his real name, which is Knox Lewis. An influential man with his name and surname does not require a flower name because his name says it all. Diana also deliberately looked at Knox's circle of friends, and there was almost no content except for the manuscript written by Lewis Group International, which the public relations department forwarded.
To prevent Knox from being prominent on her mobile phone, Diana deliberately changed his WeChat name to "Passerby."
After Diana left his office, the contact "Passerby message: [Sign the agreement tomorrow and let's get the marriage certificate tomorrow too.]
[Ok.]
Diana's first stop after leaving work was "Lewis Shopping Mall" to purchase a red dress. Knox also owns Lewis Shopping Mall, among his many other properties. The following day, she applied slightly thicker makeup on purpose. Her skin was white, but after using the powder, her facial features were more refined and attractive, and she donned a size S red dress. Diana was lovely in the mirror, but she was unaware of this. She must look good today since she'll sign the marriage certificate.
This morning, the bus was somewhat full. As the bus approached the station, Knox sent a WeChat message, [Come to my office.]
[Give me ten minutes.] Diana responded.
After a few minutes, she entered Knox's office. Her attire made Knox feel energized, and her protruding chest made him vaguely recall that night, causing his thoughts to become momentarily chaotic. "It's a man's natural tendency." That's what his saying.
He is Diana's cash machine, whereas Diana is his tool person.
There is another individual in the office; he's Knox's legal counsel. He requested that Diana sign multiple agreements. The main idea is that Knox's property has no connection to Diana. She will receive a million-dollar salary plus bonuses during the marriage contract. The extra information is as follows:
[Make grandpa laugh once] Fee: $20,000
[Second, prepare a delectable lunch for grandpa] Fee: $20,000
[Third, when grandpa is hospitalized, you will accompany grandpa once] Fee: $100,000
[Fourth, grandpa will die after 100-year-old] Fee: $1,000,000
Last but not least, Diana saw the most crucial clause: [From the day of signing this contract, the man will pay the woman a deposit of $200,000]
Remarks: For matters not covered in the contract, the right of interpretation belongs to the man.
The significance of the wage incentive causes Diana to sigh. The only conclusion that can be drawn is Knox is too wealthy, as the stimuli surround "Grandpa." The money he gave her to accompany his grandfather was sufficient to employ a nurse for her mother. Diana silently hopes that his grandfather will enjoy a long life in private. Thus, she will have unlimited funds and no longer be concerned about her mother's illness.
Knox's "wage mechanism" is comparable to the compensation structure of working in Lewis Group; the basic salary is not high, but if you perform well, you will receive a substantial bonus at the end of the month, which motivates people tremendously.
Diana thought, "I must pursue achievement and increase my income." Then, she signed her name by gesturing with her pen.
"Are all items prepared?" Knox spoke in a frigid tone to Diana.
"It is now ready. Identification card and household registration card." Diana took these two items from her backpack and placed them on Knox's desk after she finished speaking.
Knox hardly glanced at it before announcing, "Let's go."
They headed to the Bureau of Civil Affairs, and the photo of her and Knox were stamped with the Civil Affairs Bureau's seal within ten minutes of her obtaining the certificate. Although Diana feels like she is in a dream, she is technically a "married" woman.
After returning home in the afternoon, Diana proceeded to work as usual, as if nothing had occurred. However, she can't help but wonder why the $200,000 deposit hasn't arrived yet. These two hundred thousand dollars are "life-saving money" for her mother's necessities.

Other days have passed, and her mother's surgery and hospitalization fees have not yet been paid. Her heart is like a boiling stove. According to Dr. Fuentes, today is the final day. She discovered that the chief financial officer, Gray, had left for a meeting in the group conference room and had not returned. Diana thought Knox was also engaged in a forum and realized it was not a good moment to send him a WeChat message. She knows it would irritate him, so she has no choice but to wait patiently.
At ten o'clock in the evening, Diana entered the elevator, fatigued from working overtime. Fortunately, Knox was already there in the elevator as she entered. She was instantly revitalized upon seeing Knox and stood in the elevator's corner.
"Mr. Lewis," Diana summoned her courage when she realized no one else was nearby.
"Yeah?" Knox responded nonchalantly while standing before Diana.
The question-and-answer connection between them is in no way comparable to that of a husband and wife in both name and actuality.
"I recall that the agreement said that a deposit of $200,000 would be required following signature. The money…" Ultimately, it's about money, and because Diana has not yet graduated, she has no courage.
"Why? Haven't I called you yet?" Knox did not look back, not even to glance at Diana, standing behind him.
"Not yet."
"Are you in a hurry?"
Diana didn't respond and was on the verge of jumping off the wall due to her anxiety, and today will soon be over.
"I thought Attorney Guanzon had already forwarded it to you. Send your card number to me."
"I will give you the card number when I board the bus," Diana said, finally reassured by this refreshing approach.
Knox exited the elevator on the first floor without uttering a word. On the other side, there were few passengers on the bus. After boarding the bus, Diana took out her credit card and snapped a photo for Knox. The card number was clear; after that, she received a transfer of $200,000.
Just when Diana praised Knox in her mind, she received another WeChat message from him: [If you're a bit more meticulous and write down the numbers, perhaps receiving money will be 30 seconds faster.]
Diana was astounded, "Does he imply I am lazy?" She was concerned that it would impact her marital performance, so she said something unnecessary: [Oh, yes, Mr. Lewis, there are many people on the bus, so it's inconvenient to type."
[You are in such a hurry, are you afraid of inconvenience?]
Diana didn't reply. Of course, she was in a rush; after all, she couldn't wait to get the money. As she was about to reply, she received a second WeChat message from Knox: [On Saturday, return to New England with me to visit grandfather.]
Diana's heart remained dull for a moment before asking, [How many days?]
[Leave on Saturday morning, remain the night, and return on Sunday.]
Diana was delighted when she discovered she would go to Knox's grandfather's house. In the end, all performance-based compensation revolves around "grandfather." Only when she sees "grandfather" can she obtain additional funds.
