Chapter 2

Diego

“You better find him or you are dead!” I said to the phone and ended the call.I banged my hands on my table angrily. I faced the group of men in front of me, “Nobody, I mean nobody gets away with squandering my money.” I told the visibly shaken boys in front of me.” You brought the boy here so, do well for yourself by bringing him in.” They all nodded and scampered out of my office.

When Liam was brought into the businesses, I had my doubts. He looked too much like a momma's wrapper but after showing results a number of times, I welcomed him in. He did his job perfectly with no stones unturned. A part of me was already considering giving him a much befitting position and then this?

I was caught up in a dilemma, the package he went away with was worth millions and my partner was waiting for it. To prevent losing their trust, I sent another of my boys to deliver it which he did perfectly.

All that was left now was finding the rat. Armando my only brother opined that his parents will know his whereabouts.

I met both of his parents when I got there and like I expected they were afraid of me. Of course they are, it's fucking brutal Diego!

“Where is your son?” I asked the father but he insisted they haven't seen him in a while. Apparently, he left the town the exact day he was given the package and haven't shown up.

I walked slowly drawing the iron baton I held on the ground which made the two of them shrank for the fear that I might hit them with it. “There are two options for you, either I kill both of you or you find your son for me!” I told them firmly and sternly.

I looked around the house, wondering if I should kill them and take the house but I thought against it since the house itself looked worn out. My eyes landed on the family picture on the wall and I stopped.

“So , you have a daughter, the more the merrier.”I said. She was a cute little thing smiling at the camera. “Maybe I should kill her too since your stupid son has caused me millions of naira” I said wickedly

“Master Diego, please look upon us with mercy, we are not lying, we haven't seen Liam for weeks now. Please don't kill us”, he pleaded but I paid him no attention.

“That's my daughter in the picture, how about you take her till we can find Liam for you?”he suggested fearfully.

I was shocked, which father would willingly give away her daughter without batting an eye. At the same time I wasn't surprised at all, people do a lot of things just to survive.

Turning my attention back to the picture one more time and nodded. “Fine, I'll take the girl, but if you can't find your son in a month's time, I'll be back and just so you know, you are dead if you still can't find him” I said menacingly before storming out of the door.

I played with the rim of the glass of wine in front of me. The call was getting to long but I had no choice than to listen to it.

The glitch has been sorted and we are searching for the boy. “Please accept my apologies for delaying the parcel.” I said to the other person at the end of the phone. We exchanged some more talks about businesses before I ended the call.

I ran my hands through my hair wondering how disastrous it would have been if I wasn't able to right things with my client. By now, the drink was no longer cold. I picked the ice bucket in other to take out some ice cubes, then I caught a vision on the screen in front of me.

A petite young lady had just shown up in the CCTV showing in my office. Who could this be? I thought The walkie-talkie on my desk suddenly spoke, “boss, a lady is here to see you, she said she's your wife”

I immediately saw the features, she's Liam sister! But walking into the lion’s den willingly? I laughed sinisterly and I instructed one of my man to see her in. Within few minutes she was inside.

Although she poised herself as bold, I could see beneath the facade. She is afraid of this place, of me.

“... I'm not interested in marrying you” she said. Now this got me by surprise. Most ladies would jump at the offer, to be affiliated with me would mean a big deal for her. But she's rejecting me?

What made you think you could come in here and strike a deal? I asked, gauging her reaction. She surprisingly held her ground and held my gaze.

I told her I wasn't interested in making any deal with her as I was sure my boys would find her brother for me. She mustn't have experienced me to refuse because her countenance changed and she called me a low life brute. I'm a brute in all sense but a low life, no way!

I stood to give her a piece of mind and put her where she belongs but I taught against it. I'm not a woman beater and I hate men who do it. I told one of my boys to whisk her away before I changed my mind.

As expected, she fought, hitting him while spewing cusses at me.

“I don't want to listen to it if it's not about Liam, I said to Kerry who hurried in looking as though he saw a ghost.” Kerry is my P.A ,he handles the administrative part of business, he's a firm guy who has been with me this the beginning.

He stopped but still looked uncomfortable as hell. Then without minding my warning he opened his mouth.

“Boss, the lady from last night is missing,” he dropped. I looked up from the paper as if I didn't hear him. He nodded his headed telling me that I didn't hear it wrong.

“And, there are rumors that you kidnapped her since she was last seen around here.” Okay, that's it! I thought. I don't go around kidnapping people like a psychopath. The last part got me standing upright, I won't condone any form of stain on my name especially when I have no hand it.

My shoulder tensed and I stood up and I went straight into our monitor room. The room has CCTV to streets close to my club. I told the team leader there to show me videos from when she left the club.

He manipulated the buttons on the keyboard and before long,her angry strides came up. I watched as she walked in anger and then took the corner which led to the park on the screen.

That corner belonged to only one person, someone who doesn't mind having me in a tight corner.

“Don.”I muttered. How dare he mess with what belongs to me? How dare he mess with me?

It wasn't even up to 24 hours that I spoke to her parents, Nothing does pass the stupid bastard by!

Oh, how I would make sure he pays in blood.But before then,I have to find my lost sheep.

Who dares attack my prize? No one! And if anyone does, he'll pay heavily!
