Chapter 1

Lisa Pov

I was in my office working on a new project when my phone rang.

I looked at the caller ID, and it was my mother. I rolled my eyes.

She never gave up. I didn't pick up her calls because I was in a good mood, and I didn't want to be ruined.

I sighed and picked up the call.

"Hello, mother.”

"Why are you not answering my calls, young lady? I have been calling you for ages now. "

"I am busy, Mom! I have a big new project I am working on."

"You are an office rat, Lisa !!! How will you find a nice man, get married, and give me a grandchild if you don't leave your office? "

"Mom, we talked about this. I don't want to get married soon. I am just 23. I like my freedom, and I want to focus on my career.”

She scoffs, "When I was your age, I was engaged to your father; whatever, I have a big announcement today at dinner; don't be late, okay?" and she hangs up the phone.

When will they stop meddling in my own business, with my fucking personal life?

I'm an adult, for fuck sake!!!

I can make my own decisions。

I wonder what the big announcement is, and I hope she's not setting me up with a random guy.

Later, when I was ready to go to my family dinner, I chose a simple, casual look: high-waisted ripped dark blue jeans, a classic white T-shirt, white sneakers, and a small pink bag..I drove my car to my parents' mansion, reached the gate, and parked my BMW in the family parking lot.

I rang the doorbell, and the maid opened the door.

"Good evening, Sarah."

"Good evening, Miss Lisa."

"Where are my parents?"

"The whole family is in the living room."

I headed to the living room to find my parents and my siblings, along with my sister and brother-in-law, there.

"Good evening, guys."

"Well, hello Lisa, no time no see," they all said.

"I have been busy,"

They said at the same time, mocking me.

I rolled my eyes. "Somebody's in a good mood today; what's the occasion?"

"Let's have dinner first, and then we will talk about it," Mom said.

The dinner was delicious. We talked about the family business and my new project.

My sister and sister-in-law are pregnant with their first child, and they are due any time.

They complained about my brother and brother-in-law's overprotective behavior.

Then we left the dinner room to have drinks in the living room.

"So what's the big announcement, Mom and Dad?"

"You know, girl, we love you, and we want to see you happy like your brother Tommy and your sister Megan; we want to see your future before we die."

Again with the drama.

"So we have decided that you will go and marry your uncle Jerry's son, Thomas, this summer, and that's final."

"You what!!!" I yelled.

"You don't have to force me to marry that spoiled brat; I can't stand him; he disgusts me; he's a ladies' man; he will be the last person on earth that I will marry.”

"You're single, and there's plenty of time to get to know each other."

"I can't marry him because I'm pregnant with another man's baby and will get married."

"You are pregnant!"

My mother fainted on the couch, and my dad yelled to the maid to bring water.

Everyone is shocked by my lie, but it's necessary. I can't marry that dick-head.

After the storm calmed down, they were not happy with me getting pregnant before marriage, but they accepted the situation and demanded to see my fiancé tomorrow.

I told them that he was on a business trip and would come back after 2 weeks, giving me enough time to find a fake fiancé.

I said goodbye to my family, headed to my apartment, and called my best friend Maria.

"Come to my apartment now, asap." I hung up.

I took off my clothes, and then I took a shower and wore shorts and a top, then went to the kitchen to prepare drinks and snacks for me and Maria.

After half an hour, Maria arrived."What the hell is wrong with you bringing me here in those hours?"

" Maria, I am in big trouble. I need your help."

"Tell me what happened."

"I told my family I was pregnant with my fiancé's baby."

"Holly shit you what?" she yelled.

"Calm down; I am not pregnant, and I don't even have a boyfriend; I am still a virgin."

"I need a drink to process this."

"I will bring the martini."

She took the class from me and drank it fast.

"Whoa, slow down, missy."

"So tell me, why did you lie to your family?"

"They want me to get married to Thomas,

their business partner, outside of my will, and that's final; you know what my family is capable of when they set their mind on it."

"Ewe, that annoying manwhore."

"So what are you going to do?"

"I don't know; they want to see my fiancé, but I told them that he's on a business trip for 2 weeks; I can't drag this out forever."

"If you have an idea, a friend of mine is an actor."

"He's gorgeous with a sexy body; you can hire him to be your fake fiancé for some time."

"No, I don't want a relationship with a man, even if it's fake; I don't want a complicated relationship."

"Or how about a gay man?"

"What!!!! Are you crazy?" I laughed.

"Yeah, you hire a gay man, make an arrangement with a contract for a year, pay him an amount of money, and he will pretend to be your fiancé and baby's daddy; no one will know; he will never see you as a woman, and you will never see him as a man; no strings attached."

"And where will I find a gay man?"

"I know the perfect place."
