Chapter 8

Seb POV

Seb did not refuse when his friend Dominic and business partner invited him to his province of Batangas, so when he asked him if he knew of any land that for sale, he immediately said that there was one nearby.

He was invited here to see the place and besides of that, he had been tattooing him for a long time to introduce him to his younger sister. He said that he was willing to be my older brother, I had never seen his younger sister before, only his mother and father that he met once they visited Manila, but he had not seen his siblings because their work was at the hacienda.

His friend was so naughty that he agreed to its wishes, he always talked about his younger sister who was kind, and also he said that she was obedient, so he became curious and became interested in getting to know her. Sometimes he is just jealous every time he talks to them, because the happiness when they talked to each other are not lost, because he is an only child that is why he didn't experience that kind of happiness.

"Bro, let's see the land the next other day. I also called the owner if we can go and he said it's okay if we visit the place," he informed him.

"All right, I'm fine, it would be nice if I could see it first before I decide," he agreed with his friend.

Dominic immediately called their house to informed their visit.

"Hello Isay, are you doing anything?" he heard him asking to the maid he’s talking.

"You're crazy, I know that you're a maid, so I'll ask you to do something for me," he laughed at the same time as if he teasing the maid on the other line.

He left his friend and just shook his head because of the way he talked to their maid and he just walked out the room, his friend was kind so even making a joke to his housemaids.

He was about to get in his car when he remembered that he couldn’t available on that day because of the death anniversary of her soon -to -be wife.

It's been three years since the terrible tragedy happened in his life, just a week ago before their wedding day when her car collided with a drunk truck driver, and she died on the spot.

before then and until now he really didn't want to enter into a relationship first, if it really wasn't with his friend he wouldn't give it chance but because he also consider him like a brother so he agreed.

He picked up his cellphone to call him.

"Hey Bro, can just we go now? I remembered that I'm not available on that day, it's Mara's anniversary, I'll go to my condo and get some clothes first," he said.

"Alright Bro let's just meet here at the office, we'll just use one car," said Dominic on the other line.

"Alright," then he hung up the phone.

When he arrived at his unit, he just took a few pieces of clothes and left as well, they won't be there for too long, so he only brought some clothes.

“Bro where are you? I'm here at the parking lot,” he ask to his friend.

"Bro, I'm here in front of the building. Let's just use my car, just leave your car there, I'll wait for you here," he said on the other line.

When he hang up the phone, he immediately went out and went to where his friend was waiting, when I got in the car, my friend has wanted to show something to me, but all of a sudden he take it back and hide of where I about to take it from him.

"Oh! Nevermind, it's up to you to judge when you see her in person," he said with a smile, and the picture he was wanted to show him is the picture of his younger sister..

He didn't see it because he immediately hid the picture.

"You're not really going to stop, huh?" he said laughing to his friend.

"You know, I won't force you if you don't like her, just give it a try, maybe it can help for you to move on. I’m the one who’s having a hard time with your situation Bro,” he said, and I understood that he only worried for me, so he would give it even though he really had no intention of opening his heart to others.

It was late at night when they reached his friend's province, as soon as they got out of the car, they were met by his mother and an elderly woman.

"Hi Ma!" Dom greet his mother.

"Hello! how's your trip, I'm sure you guys must be tired from the travel," she's mother said.

"Good evening Auntie, how are you? you look younger than before!" he said to her, to make her smile.

“Oh! Really? thank you, you really good at joking, huh?" she said while smiling at me.

"Nay Mirna, where is Isay? did she clean what I've told her to clean? I told her that we're going to arrive the day after tomorrow but we arrived early than what I expected, because Seb's schedule not available on that day," he asked the elderly.

"I saw her earlier carrying tools for cleaning and went up to the third floor, but I have many house chores so I haven't noticed her yet, maybe she has already cleaned the room," the elderly woman said.

"The best thing is that we can go in, so your guest can rest," Auntie Teddy said.

"Have you eaten yet, son?" Auntie ask me.

"That's perfect, I cooked something. Can you wait, I'll just serve it first," the elderly woman said.

"Alright, Nay Mirna, thank you," Dominic said..

The woman immediately obeyed, and they entered the house.

"Bro maybe you want to freshen' up first? You can go up and take shower first, just to the third floor on the first door at left is guest room and that will be your room, clean first before we eat," Dominic said.

"Alright Bro, thank you. Auntie, I'll go up first," he said.

"Alright son, we'll just call you when the food is ready," she said.

When he entered the room as instructed by his friend he was surprised because of the woman lying on the bed, it was dark in the room because the light was not on. so the woman's face was not very transparent, when he backed away he hit something so he stopped moving and leaned against the wall. because he might wake the woman up.

When he was about to leave but suddenly the woman woke up, stood up at once and took the broom near the bed.

"Who are you? What are you doing here in this room? ” and she was pointed the broom at me.

He looked at woman because she seemed to be afraid of me.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" she asked me again, so he asked her too.

"Shouldn't I be the one to ask you that?" she suddenly awake when she see me and she seemed even more surprised when I spoke.

He would have approached her to calm her down but she backed away. So he walked closer to her again but she suddenly hit me with the reed she was holding, I was lucky that I avoided her because if not I was hit at my head.

It hit him with the handle a few more times and he was lucky to avoid it. if he didn't avoid that hit, maybe by now his skull has a crack because of the force of its grip, it would not revive its victims..

When he she start beating started, he grabbed it to snatch it from the her because he might not be able to avoid it next time, then he pulled the broom with all his might, because it looks like his pulling was so strong that the woman got out of balance so her leaned on my chest.
