Chapter 7

oliver

the next morning i was making my way through the dimly lit corridors, towards samuel's office like he said. my eyes were burning slightly from lack of sleep and i ran my fingers through my hair, fixing them across my forehead. the aged lady from yesterday, who's name i discovered was roselyn, had been samuel's manager for more than four years.

she offered me a cup of coffee, and a donut which i gladly accepted, stuffing my mouth with the glazed donut and washing it down with some coffee. my cup was half empty and the donut almost finished by the time i stood in front of the familiar door, pushing it open to reveal the office which looked more sorted than before. i craned my neck to examine the room for samuel but i couldn't see him, so i just stood there for a while contemplating whether i should go inside or not.

i decided i may as well should take a seat inside and just as i was about to move, i felt two hands grip my sides from behind, starling me slightly and i let out a little squeak when i felt a pair of lips olivergerously close to my ear.

"so, you're a punctual guy yeah?" his voice was deep as his hot breath washed over my neck and i could feel the goose bumps rising on my skin. i just pushed his grip off, turning around to face the blue eyed man, and he just gave me a charming smile, hand still resting loosely on my hip.

"d-don't touch me like that," i stuttered and he just raised his eyebrows, chuckling slightly and pushing past me, casually taking a seat on the bean bag again, hands resting behind his head, as he stared at me.

"oh oliveriel, you will be begging me to touch you soon," he remarked cockily and i rolled my eyes at him trying to ignore the constant heat radiating off me, shutting the door of his office and looking around to find a place to sit. i could sit on the set of chairs in the other corner but it would just be awkward to converse with him from that far and his couch was covered in sheets of paper and folders, leaving no room to sit.

"um, where can i sit?" i scratched the back of head nervously and he just tilted his head slightly before his eyes raked across the room.

"you can sit here," he patted his lap, giving me an obnoxious smirk and i just groaned, folding my arms over my chest. "i wouldn't mind," he added causing me to shoot him an annoyed glare and let out a string of profanities under my breath.
