Leighton

Lex burst through the doors with me following behind, I laid the wolf down on the bed and grabbed the bag from Lex.

Dr Hunts walked in as I was pulling a pair of sweats on « how can I help you guys this morning » I motioned to the wolf, « found him collapsing he passed me this bag and it’s got a brand new pup in it, I know that we shouldn’t touch the pup as it needs to bond with its parents so I didn’t know what to do »

She walked to the wolf on the bed « Oh my poor boy » then looked at me « yes you are correct » she pushed a baby incubator to me and hands me gloves, I put the gloves on and picked the baby pup up out the bag and put him back down on the baby bed wrapped in what I’m guessing is a t shirt from the wolf, Dr Hunts quickly checked over the pup « he is fine, all healthily could do with some milk soon and from the looks of the father he won’t be getting it from him, he will have to be bottled fed for the moment. Let’s leave him until he wakes up » she walked up to the wolf « You poor boy, ok this is going to hurt but I need you in human form » she put a needle in his neck, he shifts back and oh my god, Dr Hunts threw up into a basket and I had to look away « my baby what did they do to you ? » At that point Alpha Kingsley came barging in

Kingsley

Duke had been pacing back and forth in my head since I got up at 4 :30am this morning, I tried to concentrate and get through training but by 7am I had given up and told them to go.

« What is the matter Duke ? »

« All I can feel is pain Kingsley »

« We aren’t hurt Duke » he is annoying me now.

« No our mates pain, they are close by » apparently Duke didn’t know where our mate was but knew they were close to the pack/me and they were in a lot of pain. I headed into the kitchen when I smelt a beautiful smell of fresh cut flowers mostly roses

« Mate, mate » Duke shouted in my head, I followed the scent to the packs clinic and into a room, what I saw on the bed, I will never unsee and will haunt my nightmares, we want to kill who ever done that to my mate, Duke came forward and I howled shaking the building, Leighton came running at me « calm down Duke, give Kingsley back control, he needs to be in control » Duke let me take control, I looked at Leighton then back at the person on the bed « That’s my mate » Leighton looked at the boy « someone’s going to die a slow and painful death » Dr Hunts was attaching things to him i walked up to her, I knew Duke needed to be close to him, he looked dead. I wasn’t sure if I could even touch him without causing him pain.

I can’t even explain how angry Duke is at seeing my mate like this, he wants to kill everything in sight, I’m struggling to keep control but I need to ask some questions, I could feel my eyes shifting between me and Duke

« Dr ummm I don’t even know where to start, why isn’t he healing, is he going to die and can I touch him without causing him pain » I hover my hand over his, he looks so small. She looked at me and I could see she had been crying, she was stroking his hair, she started talking but not looking at me

« He isn’t healing because he is too weak to heal, he is just skin and bones, doesn’t look like he has been fed in a while, he has bruises old and new all over his body, broken ribs, dislocated shoulder, fractured knee, broken leg, fractured ankle, broken nose, and 2 black eyes, I need to do a scan to see if he has internal bleeding. I have never seen anything like this, there isn’t a part of his body that doesn’t have a bruise or scar or broken bone, I don’t know how he carried that pup »

That confused me « Pup » she motions me to look in the corner I walk over to the incubator and in it is a baby pup, I went to pick it up, just out of instinct « Don’t touch him » Dr Hunts shouted « it’s less than 24 hours old, it needs to bond with its father and I’m guessing they didn’t have time, I was going to sort them both out then put the pup on his chest » I know I should be mad that my mate had a pup by someone else but I just know it wasn’t consented. Duke seems really calm around the pup I’m broken out my thoughts « Are you ok, are you going to be ok around the pup ? » I growled I know she is only doing her job « I need to make sure that the pup is going to be safe until the father wakes up » I looked at her and then at the pup « we will behave round the pup until the father wakes up » « if » she mumbled but I heard making Duke growl.

After a few minutes of talking to Dr Hunts and looking at my broken mate, I left with Leighton there was nothing I could do at the moment and I needed to calm Duke down so we went for a run, I bolted out the back door making my pack members jump out the way and shifted in mid air shredding my clothes but we didn’t care, I let Duke take over, he needed to hunt get rid of some of his anger. Duke was big at nearly 6 foot tall and was pitch black with blue eyes he was intimidating to say the least, I just hope our mate isn’t frightened of us. As much as we tried to calm down the image of his battered body just kept replying in my mind, I needed to find the people who done this and make them pay, there are no packs close to us so that means he traveled a fair distance, and in the state he was in, it’s unbelievable and from what the doctor said he had just given birth as well, « Our mate is strong » Duke said to me wagging his tail « indeed he is »

Kingsley

Duke has gone all protective over the pup, our pup, I like that, someone that can depend on me and only me, we have no idea what his name is so we have kept calling him pup, I don’t even know my mates name, I went through his bag but there wasn’t a lot in it, just a few photos of what I guess are his friends but I can’t even work out who they are or if they are local and a few clothes, to keep myself from going insane I have purchased everything for the pup and my mate, toys and clothes so many clothes.

I always thought that the omegas where the only ones to have pups but apparently my mate isn’t an omega but a Beta so this is very confusing. His bruises have gone down and all his bones have healed nicely, I gave him some of my blood which has helped him heal quicker. He is good looking, I don’t know the colour of his eyes but he has blonde hair and freckles that run across his cheeks and nose, he is around 6foot so definitely not an omega as they are usually only just above 5 foot.

I haven’t told anyone that I have found my mate apart from Leighton and the doctor, I want him to make a full recovery first, I don’t want them to see him broken I want them to see him beautiful, I only want to see his scars for the moment and I want him to be able to tell people when he is ready.

I’m currently sitting in his hospital room, with the pup asleep on my chest when Leighton walks in

« Any change ? » He said looking at my mate, I shake my head

« You really should name the pup ? » I shake my head again « no, he has a name, I’m just waiting to be told it by my mate »

« Well, the pack is getting restless they know something is going on, your always in the clinic and you have band anyone from this room, I think you need to say something to them ». I stared at him then gave a low growl making sure not to wake the pup

Fine if he wants me to make an announcement so be it, I mindlinked everyone

« So apparently, there are some nosey people in my pack, yes I have been going in the pack hospital for the last couple of weeks, it doesn’t have anything to do with you, so stay out of my business until I say, if I find anyone breaking the rules I will punish them myself » I looked at Leighton « happy » he rolled his eyes « not really ».

I was holding my mates hand with pup on my chest, at some point I fell asleep and had a strange dream but it didn’t feel like a dream.

I was in a meadow, it was the meadow at the edge of the pack beautiful flowers growing all over the place, I was sitting down playing with a pup in between my legs, the pup was a light coloured brown with White paws and hazel eyes, he was chasing a ball back and forth when I threw it and he went after it, I was laughing when I felt a presence next to me, I could make out it was a boy but it was blurry,

« Thank you for looking after my Angel, please carry on taking care of him, you have been doing so well, I love listening to you talking to him, his name is Princeton. I hope to meet you soon » then he was gone, I turned back to the pup and realised he was the pup in the clinic, I woke with a start, I looked over to my mate and whispered « thank you » then looked down to the pup « nice to finally meet you Princeton » he opened his eyes slightly and they were Hazel, then went back to sleep. I sat there in a daze, I hadn’t even noticed that Leighton was in the room until he said

« Is that a smile ? » I turned and stared at him then growled, I got up out my chair passing the pup back to the nurse, we walked out the clinic through the packhouse, some pack members waved, bowed, some were scared to make eye contact mostly the omegas then you had the she wolves that wouldn’t leave me alone, doesn’t matter how many times I tell them, I saw some walking my way so I let Duke take over who growled making the ground shake, they stopped and had a frightened look on their faces, making Leighton laugh « they never learn do they Duke ? » « Leave us alone » Duke growled out « otherwise your on cleaning duty » that made them turn and leave « can’t have a nail broken can we now » Leighton laughed out, once I was safely in my office Duke let me have control back. I sat in my chair facing Leighton

« His name is Princeton »

« Who ? » I rolled my eyes

« The pup, his name is Princeton » this made Leighton laugh, I tilted my head

« King and Prince » I made and O with my mouth « I like it » « me too » Duke said in my head purring.

« How do you know his name is Princeton ? »

I picked up some letters and started to read through them then looked up at Leighton « my mate told me, whilst I was sleeping » I could see Leighton looking confused « I have so many questions but I’m just gonna let it slide and say Ok, Princeton it is, did he say anything ? »

« Not a lot, just that I’m doing a good job and that he hopes to met me soon, it was all a bit strange, but the doctor did say that he has been improving so I can only hope that his wolf is helping him and that he wanted to reach out to us »
