Chapter 7

His question surprises me, I don't know how to answer, I'm nervous, or I'm not sure I should simply tell him that our meetings have been planned by him.

"I... Well... I don't know," I stammer, smiling like an idiot.

"You're beautiful and I can't stop looking at you."

Every word spoken by that delicious mouth ignites my soul, that inexplicable vapor rises through my spine and I feel my heart pounding a thousand times a second.

I don't see Roman, my judgment is completely clouded, I don't know what's going to happen to me but I really like what I feel now.

Suddenly he pulls me out of my wandering thoughts, takes me by the waist and puts my back against him, the warm water relaxes me a little and I feel something very hard and prominent pressing against my buttocks.

Roman's cell phone keeps ringing, he quickly gets out of the water, dries his fingers on his shirt and answers.

"Elara!... Tonight after the meeting there will be an opening party."

I'm still dazed, I get out of the water and Roman wraps me in his shirt.

"Let's get changed," he murmurs, getting dressed.

I'm somewhat anxious and very scared, a terrible panic hammers my mind"What if he wants to take advantage of me," I think as I get dressed.

Once in the room, Roman gets ready to work.

"We need to finish this by tonight... You're really smart," Elle says, pulling out his laptop.

"Fabric?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"It's easier than Elara," he says, smiling mockingly.

I don't dwell on it because there are so many pending tasks and so much work to do that my mind programs itself to work.

I sit down very close to him and help him; it's almost mid-afternoon while he prints the last report.

"This brand is crucial, the cherry-colored Hyundai is valued at millions of dollars... The company is in Korea but has a headquarters here in Ohio, so nothing can go wrong," Roman explains to me, putting away all the work we did.

"Everything is on this USB drive, Elara, keep it safe... Don't leave my side tonight, these people are somewhat dangerous."

"Dangerous?"

"Yes... Don't go near Adrian... His agent, promise me"

"Yes of course."

Now I'm more scared than before; tonight will be crucial.

"I'm going to take a shower..," Roman announces, grabbing another pair of underwear and no clothes at all.

I've no idea what he's up to, but he doesn't say anything serious or hint at all at what he's looking for.

Roman takes so long in the shower that I get an idea to get honest information out of him.

When he finally opens the bathroom door, I've a surprise for him.

"I propose a game!"

"Mmm... Tell me"

"On this table are four slips of paper with a question on each one... Each one will be placed on my body... It's up to you if you don't want to answer..."

"I'll run my tongue over the place where the paper was..." he interrupts me confidently.

"Oh!... I... Well, okay...- I stammer, thinking about what I was doing."

"I'm going to get a drink first... I'll be right back!... Don't open the door for anyone, Elara."

He slams the door and leaves the room without another word. I lie down on the bed for a while to wait for him, but the day's exhaustion and work pressure gradually close my sleepy eyes. The light in the room slowly dims until I feel nothing more, only a delicious relief and an instant calm that completely relaxes me.

Suddenly I hear some close, angry voices in the distance. It sounds like an argument. I immediately remember Roman's words, so I slowly open the door.

"Why Roman... But why... Tell me?" Vanessa Reed asks between sobs and tears.

"That's enough, Vanessa Reed!... You know perfectly that what we had was just going to bed... Nothing more... Stop!" Roman shouts furiously.

"Someday you'll regret this... Then you'll come crawling back to me... But that's okay, I'll be waiting for you," he says, crossing his arms.

"Please... That's enough"

"What I don't know... Is why her?... That simple, silly girl."

"You know me, Vanessa Reed... It's just for fun, nothing more."

I close the door, my heart melts in my chest, I can't believe what I heard, although what I really can't believe is that I was so naive and trusted a man I just met.

I run to the bed and sit down as if nothing happened.

"I'm back!" Roman boasts calmly.

"Seriously... Fun... Is that what I'm to you?" I say, sighing through tears.

"What?... How could I..."

"I heard everything... You were sleeping with her and you found a new source of entertainment in me—I accuse him, standing up."

"Oh no!... I'm not in the mood for this... Much less for a child's tantrums."

"Girl?... And if you had slept with me?... You'd have had what you wanted."

"I wasn't going to take your virginity, Elara."

"Virginity?... What makes you think I'm a virgin?"
