CHAPTER NINE
I wasn’t done with my laundry yet but Kent already invited me for a movie.
“What do you want to watch?” He asked.
“If you’re brave enough, I dare you for a horror movie,” I dared him raising one of my eyebrows thinking that he will admit that he's scared.
“You think I’ll back out, huh?” He confidently asked back.
“Oooh. Okay,” I winked at him to make him feel that it’s a wrong decision.
I used to watch horror movies alone so I’m pretty sure that I can manage doing it with him.
“What do you want to watch?” He asked.
“What can you watch?” I returned the question on him - still, making him feel that he's the one who will back out.
“You think I’m a scaredy cat, huh?” He asked. “I can watch anything,” he confidently said after.
“Okay. Go for the first one on the list,” I dared him.
“Eerie?” He asked which I nodded as an answer.
I’ve already heard about this movie before but I was too busy studying and in my work when this became a hit so I wasn’t able to watch it until now. I’ve read a lot of good feedbacks for this movie and I hope it doesn’t disappoint me.
Funny how the washing machine alarmed exactly during the thrilling part of the movie so Kent was really shocked.
“I thought you’re not a scaredy cat?” I asked him with tease.
“I’m not scared. I was just… alert,” he denied so I laughed so hard.
“As you say so,” I said making him feel like I don’t believe him. “I need to leave for a while. The laundry’s done,” I excused myself.
“What? The clothes can wait,” he refused so I laughed again.
“I still need to wash the last batch. You can continue watching without me,” I told him before leaving.
I collected all the clothes from the washing machine and placed the last batch afterwards. I then hanged all the clothes that have been washed before returning to the living room.
I saw him waiting for me to return so I laughingly sat down because the movie is paused from the moment I left him.
“Admit that you can’t watch alone, scaredy cat,” I teased him.
“What? I paused it so that you can watch the whole thing,” he explained – still denying that he is scared.
“Mmm? Okay,” I continued on teasing him.
We resumed watching. Instead of being scared of the movie, I can’t help but to laugh every single time that he flinches at those thrilling scenes. He really tried his best to look tough but the movie revealed otherwise.
“Woah!” He reacted at the twist made at the end of the movie. I will admit that it really surprised me too because I did not see it coming. I expected a positive ending but it turned out the opposite.
“That was amazing,” I commended the movie.
“I know, right?” He agreed. “Want to watch another movie?” He then asked.
“Another horror?” I asked to tease him.
“I don’t know if this is a horror movie but I think this is a good movie as well,” he said talking about Block Z.
“Sure. I’d also like to watch that one,” I agreed.
This movie became the talk of the town because it casted two ex lovers. I was so lucky that I got to be casted in this movie even though it’s really just a cameo. Hopefully, Kent won’t notice my presence in the movie.
We started the movie and I pretended like I haven’t seen it yet. I felt so strange watching a movie that I am a part of but I also enjoy it thinking that I was a part of a masterpiece.
I observed Kent’s reaction while watching it. I’m expecting that he will like it because it is not a horror movie and it is also educational. I think I’m biased by saying that this movie is phenomenal but it really is. The concept is really good and the flow of the story is commendable too. Added to that are the issues that the characters faced which added to the greatness of the movie.
“Hey, Sol. You look like that person,” Kent noticed as he pointed me running on the scene.
“So, you’re saying that I look like a celebrity?” I joked around to shrug his idea that I am a celebrity
“You look like that celebrity. I don’t know who he is, though.”
“Admit it. I look good for you,” I pushed more.
“You don’t look ugly,” he answered. I’m not sure if I shall take that as a compliment but at least, he doesn’t find me ugly at all.
We continued watching. I’m happy that he really looked interested in our movie and I can feel that he is enjoying what our movie is all about.
“This movie is great, right?” He asked.
“Because it’s not scary?” I teased him.
“Because you are here.”
