~~ ARIA ~~

I was supposed to be scared about this bold move I was about to make.

However, I wasn’t.

And honestly, I didn’t know what was fueling my courage. But I had to do this for me, for Alec, and my pack.

But mostly for me because there was no way I was going to marry Alpha Magnus.

So here I was, in a cab heading to Thorne’s pack to negotiate with him.

He was the Alpha of Black Crest pack after all. So he could talk to the council of elders in his pack.

When I got to the pack house in Black Crest pack, I let out a slow breath trying to summon all the courage I had.

I paid the cab driver and thereafter alighted from the Cab.

I rang the gate bell and an old man opened it almost immediately.

“Can I help you?” The man asked politely.

I guess no one could recognize me since I was gone for five years, else, this man wouldn’t be so nice to me judging that our pack had been attacking theirs, and vice versa.

“I’m here to see Thorne,” I told the man.

He looked at me from head to toe and then back to my head.

“And who are you?” He asked, his voice laced with suspicion.

“Lacy. Thorne is expecting me,” I lied with a tight-lipped smile.

“Well, Alpha Thorne doesn’t live here. He left this house to all homeless pack members. He usually directs anyone he doesn’t want to see to this place. So child, go home. Our Alpha doesn’t want to see you,” The old man said, about to close the gate but I stopped him.

I had to see Thorne and I wasn’t going to give up.

“Sir, please can you be kind enough to tell me where he lives? I really need to see him. I need his help,” I pleaded with the old man.

“Just go home kid. If Alpha Thorne wanted to see you, he would give you his main address. No one knows where he lives now,” The old man said.

I knew he wouldn't give up such delicate information easily, especially during times of war like this, so I did what I thought could salvage the situation.

I brought a thousand-dollar bill worth of cash and handed it over to him.

“Please?” I pleaded again.

Something glistened in the old man’s eyes when he saw the cash. I could see his fingers twitching.

“Don’t tell him I told you okay?” The old man said, but his eyes were fixated on the cash I held.

“You have my word,” I assured him.

He looked around to see if anyone was watching before he snatched the cash from my hand, and quickly put it in his pocket.

Afterward, he gave me Thorne’s new address.

I thanked the old man and hailed a cab.

On my way to the address, I couldn't help but think how thoughtful it was of Thorne to leave his pack house for the homeless.

I made a mental note to talk to Alec about doing so too.

When I got the address, I instantly knew that Thorne lived there, his taste for luxury hadn't reduced even after all these years.

When I got to the gate of the mansion, someone opened it immediately before I knocked.

“Who are you?” A goofy-looking man asked.

He looked like he hadn't had an ounce of sleep in weeks.

“I’m Lacy. Thorne…” I paused and corrected myself, “Alpha Thorne is expecting me.”

“She’s probably the third girl,” He mumbled and sighed deeply.

“Are you speaking to me?” I asked him.

“No. You're the last call-girl he’s expecting, right?” The man asked tiredly.

Call girl? Me?

However, I had come this far, so I wasn't going to let this opportunity slip.

“Uhm… Yeah. Yeah, I am. The call girl,” I answered.

“He’s in the living room, just pass through the front door,” He said and stepped aside thereafter, opening the door wide for me to go in.

I thanked him and went in.

The thought of Thorne expecting a call-girl made my heart twist painfully but I shoved the feeling aside.

I know I should have knocked and honestly, I don't know why I didn't.

I just opened the front door and stepped in.

I would have marveled at how magnificent Thorne’s house was, if not for the shocking scene that greeted me.

Thorne sat on the sofa, his hand running through his hair.

“Fuck… Aria,” He groaned as a blonde girl kept stroking his cock with her hand.

Did he just moan my name?

I told myself it meant nothing and that I didn't care.

Still, my fingers curled into fists and a strange heat crept up my neck making it hard to breathe.

The other red-haired girl sat on the glass table naked, her legs spread open as she touched herself.

Seeing another girl touch Thorne’s cock, I felt a sharp sting in my chest.

My chest tightened with what I couldn't name. Or maybe I did but wasn't ready to admit.

They were so carried away that they didn't even notice me coming in.

This made me realize that it was high time I got over my unhealthy obsession with Thorne.

“Thorne,” I called out, my voice breaking a bit, making him look in my direction.

All this didn't matter to me, yet my voice betrayed me.

I thought he would even apologise for what I saw.

But he didn’t.

“The fact I said your name means nothing,” He responded, avoiding eye contact with me.

“You girls can go now, my main course is here,” He told the girls with a smirk.

I was the main course?

The girls frowned, and if looks could kill, I’d have dropped dead when they looked at me.

They glared at me like I was a stumbling block to them.

However, they dressed up and left.

All through the while, Thorne didn't even bother covering up immediately.

It was like he wanted me to see all of him, and honestly, my mouth watered when I saw his big cock.

It was big, just the way I liked it.

As if that wasn’t enough, Thorne looked at me and asked me a very ridiculous question.
