Chapter 2

It was Paul. Since when did he have math with me?! I sighed and took my seat. Paul was my boyfriend some time ago. I caught him making out with another girl, so I broke up with him. And my broken heart was filled with sadness. And anger. And revenge. But I'm all good now. Completely over him. He never tried to get back with me or say sorry, so I guess he is too. He also found himself a new girlfriend. I don't want to say anything, but she isn't exactly a good person. She cheats on him all the time, but he doesn't seem to care. Maybe it's love or he's cheating too. Since our breakup we haven't talked to each other. It was very easy, because we never had classes together. Up until now.

I took my seat and my teacher walked in. He started talking about math and I didn't understand a word he said. This was already going great. I laid my head on the desk and looked at the clock. The seconds passing felt like hours. After another 30 minutes the bell finally rang and I got up, took my next classes and then was lunch. I got my food and sat down at my table.

"Hey, satan.", Cameron said and sat down too. "What's up, idiot.", I said and took a sip of my drink. Yes, he sat with me at lunch. But only because his friends did too. Brian and Jake. Obviously Alex sat next to me. She and Brian had a little crush on each other, so we all sat together. Alex was talking to Brian, Cameron to Jake and I just sat there and looked around. I had no one to talk to. I started to eat my food and suddenly Ethan sat down in front of me. "Hey.", he smiled and I looked surprised. "Hey? What's up?", I asked him and smiled. He was my lab partner. "Nothing really, I saw you and as I can tell your frieds are busy talking to each other, so I decided to keep you company.", he smiled his gorgeous smile. We kept talking and damn. He is just. Damn.

After 3 more hours I finally could go home and Alex came with me. "So.", she started and I looked at her with a confused look. "So what?", I laughed. "Today at lunch? With Ethan?", she asked. "Oh, yeah.", I laughed and blushed a little bit. "You're blushing!", she squealed and I gave her a guilty look. "Shut up!", I said and nudged her a bit. "This is going to be the story of the year.", Alex laughed. "Not if you make it to it.", I said annoyed and opened the front door. "I'm home!", I yelled and threw my bag in the corner. We sat down on the couch and Ian came down the stairs. "Hey, how was school?", he asked and sat down next to us. "Izzy is in love!", Alex sang and I rolled my eyes. "No, I'm not!", I said stubbornly. "Yes, she is. With Ethan.", Alex said and showed me her tongue. "Ethan? Sounds interesting..", Ian said laughing. "No! I mean, his name is Ethan, but I'm not in love with him and he isn't in love with me. He wouldn't even come to our lunch table, if you guys weren't be assholes and would talk to me.", I said sternly. Alex just hummed, nodding and Ian laughed. "God, I hate you two!", I smiled. Idiots.

We then were talking and laughing about different things, thank god. I wasn't in love with Ethan, I maybe just had a tiny crush on him. We did our homework and then just hung out. "How are things with Brian?", I asked her and rolled onto my stomach. "Oh, they're good.", she said and looked at me. "So, when are you guys finally will be couple? In a million years?", I asked laughing and she shrugged. "Maybe, maybe not. We'll see. What about you and Ethan?", she asked, raising one eyebrow. "Probably in like a million years.", I said annoyed and she nodded in approval. I liked Ethan, I really did. And a small part of me, deep inside of me, wanted to be with him. Suddenly the doorbell rang.

"Cameron?!", I asked in confusion as I opened the door. "Hey.", he said monotone and walked in, without asking. I furrowed my eyebrows and went up to my room again. He followed me silently and I sat down. "Who was it?", she asked me, but her jaw dropped as she saw Cameron walk in. "Small question. Why exactly are you here?", I asked him to which he just shrugged. "My parents are stressing me out and you live literally two houses away.", he explained and I nodded. "So you decided to come here and do what?", Alex asked laughing. "Avoid my parents and...hang out.", he said, suprised about his own words. "That's weird.", I said nodding and they agreed. "Don't you want to go to Ian or something??", I asked him, willing to find more excuses for him to leave. "I think he left to go to Michael's house.", Alex said and I sighed. "Damn it.", I mumbled under my breath. "And again, you're can't whisper.", Cameron said and I smiled guiltily. "Oh no.", I said dramatically and Alex nodded. "Tragic."

At the end we just let Cameron stay in our room and didn't care about what he did. I was talking to Alex and he was on his phone. Suddenly he stood up and looked at us. "Yeah?", I asked wanting to know what he planned to do. "I'm going home again. Thanks for...letting me be here.", he said and quickly left. We burst into laughter and tears started to form in the corners of my eyes. I wiped them away and tried to calm myself down. "This was the most awkward it has ever got in this room.", I laughed and she nodded. "Probably. But do you remember last summer? You caught me kissing that one guy and stood there embarassed until we noticed you? That was weird, we were just all looking at each other.", she laughed and I nodded. "Jeez, that was terrible. I froze, I couldn't move. I was shocked you were in my room making out.", "But Cameron can top it all.", she said and I agreed. He could make it really awkward. "But I still don't understand why he is always here. I don't even like him. We call each other names all the time. When is he gonna understand, that it's just awkward when he is here?! I know he doesn't like me either, why the hell does he spend most of his time with us?", I asked Alex. "Well, I guess he is just in our group of friends. You know, Brian, Jake, you, me and then him. It's just our group. Even if he is not your favourite person on this planet, he is like a sibling for you. You can't without him.", she said and I nodded stunned. "That sounds like I'm in love with him.", I laughed and she agreed. "I am for sure not in love with him. Maybe you're right though. We grew up together. It's like he has to be here. It's just so familiar.", I agreed and laughed then again. The thought of him being here and being familiar was messing with my head.

Then the doorbell rang again and I got up. "If that's him again, I swear I'll punch him in the face.", I laughed and ran downstairs. I opened the door and saw Ethan standing in front of it. As I saw him a smile formed on my face immediately. "Hey! I..uhm.", he started. "Wanna come in?", I cut him off and he laughed slightly. "Sure.", he said and scrached his neck. He got inside and we sat down on the couch. "I wanted to ask you if you wanna hang out sometimes?", he asked me nervously and my smile got bigger. I could literally feel my face get hotter and looked down, trying to hide my blush. "Sure.", I said and he sighed relieved. "Wanna hang out now?", I laughed and he did too. That was embarassing. "Why not.", he smiled and I nodded getting up. "But be warned, Alex is here.", I laughed. "That's not a problem.", he said happily and I nodded. I went to my room and he followed me. "We have a guest Alex.", I said blushing shyly. "Who is it?", she asked and Ethan walked in. "Me.", he answered and I nodded, trying to get my face under control. "Well, hi.", she laughed and we decided to watch a movie. "Nothing scary.", I said, as Ethan asked what we should watch. "Let's watch something scary then.", Alex laughed evil and I sighed. I knew where this was going. "I gotta go get some snacks. Alex, do you wanna help me?", I asked her and she nodded. We stood up and got downstairs. "You are a teribble human being, you know that, right?", I laughed and hit her arm playfully. "I know and I love it. Let's go get some snacks now. And just to let you know, I just said that so you have an opportunity to have some skin contact. Be grateful. For that how you blushed in there, I saved your life.", she laughed and grabbed two bags of chips. I shook my head and grabbed some water. We walked to my rooms again, where Ethan already picked a movie. Paranormal activity. By now, I was sure I would shit myself. I am horrible with movies like that. I'm scared of freaking of everything. How should I be capable of that.

The movie scared the living shit out of me and half of the time, my face was burried in Ethans chest. His arm was around me to comfort me, but I still was scared. "You know, maybe we should stop here. Izzy is shaking.",Ethan said and turned off the TV. I still couldn't really move and stayed in the same position. He pulled me even closer and I started to relax slowly. "I gotta go, but can you stay here and watch her for a while? She can never fall asleep after movies like this.", Alex asked him and he agreed without even thinking. "Thank you.", I whispered to Ethan and looked up a bit. "No big deal.", he smiled and I snuggled up to him. With the time my eyes shut and I started to fall asleep. I didn't even feel as he put a blanket over me and left. I was dead asleep.
