Chapter One

Mexico>

On a cool Monday, the city of Mexico is bustling with various activities,as people are seen moving around going about their daily business.

Some trekking, some in their cars. Some going to their workplace, and some to the school.

Here in Mexico, you hardly see people depending on others, they work extremely hard so as to get their daily needs. As the saying goes, manna doesn't fall from heaven, you work for it.

It's a city where everyone is friendly, especially in the neighborhood.

A large white house with a huge gate and guards surrounding it. Some on standby, some moving around.

This is the house of the late Mr Anderson, he was the vice president of Mexico before he died, he passed away a year ago and his second wife, Ellen Anderson is the caretaker of his properties.

Wondering about his first wife? Well she passed away 10 years ago, she suffered from a strange illness and it resulted to her death.

Ellen is the lovely, jovial and caring woman to people, except to one soul,"Catrina," she hates her more than her own enemy.

Citizens don't know much about Catrina again since her dad passed away.

She's been bullied everyday by Ellen and her daughter, Chloe. It all began when her dad passed away.

In a room,a body is seen sleeping peacefully while snoring lightly,you will think she's a princess due to how gorgeous she looks.

This is Catrina,a flawless and cute lady with the glowing skin.

The door swung open and a lady of her age walked in rudely,this is Chloe, Catrina's stepsister.

She stared hatefully at Catrina before she left the room.She came back in shortly with Ellen who was holding a whip in her hands.

Without warning, she raised the whip and lashed Catrina hotly on her back because she was laying on her stomach and Catrina jumped up with a shout.

"You this classless thing,how dare you to be still sleeping by this time when my beautiful angel here hasn't eaten," Ellen yelled and Catrina fearfully held the duvet.

"Am sorry mother,I was stressed overnight," Catrina said fearfully and that angered Ellen.

"So due to the fact that you were stressed,my daughter should starve right," Ellen yelled with all the veins popping from her body.

"Chloe dear, please get me a bucket of water," she said and Catrina's eyes widened knowing what's next. Chloe moved to the bathroom excitedly.

" No mother, please no," Catrina pleaded and a slap landed on her face.

"I am not your mother bitch,do I look like your mad mother?" Ellen said and Catrina eyes became glassy with tears immediately.

One thing which causes her weakness is that fact that Ellen constantly reminds her of how her mother passed away.Before she died, she ran mad and died an hour later.

Chloe came back with a bucket of water and Ellen started whipping Catrina who began shouting and rolling on the bed.

Chloe sprinkled water on Catrina as Ellen continued whipping her.

"Please..! she pleaded in tears.

AN HOUR LATER>

Catrina laid on the couch in the living room as she shed tears.

After she had been whipped severely, she was forced to cook for Chloe and Ellen.

She remembered the times her dad was alive and she shed more tears.

"Dad, mom why did you leave me in this cruel world?" She asked while still crying.

"Please come and take me," she said tearfully. She couldn't stand the suffering anymore.

Ellen had left for the company while Chloe had gone to school.

Ellen made her stop schooling when Anderson died and changed Chloe to the most popular school in Mexico, "Sun High."

All she spends her day doing is the house chores. She never have time for herself.

Well she and Chloe are of the saame age, Ellen got pregnant for Anderson when he got married to Joan (Catrina's mother).So they gave birth during the same month ,though Joan gave birth first

Her phone buzzed and she took it and saw a message from (LOML) and she smiled.

That's the only person to her that cares about her,her boyfriend.

She opened the message and it read,

"Morning Angel,how you doing?"

She smiled as she read it and replied,

"Doing good babe,I missed you,(Smiley emoji)."

She sent and within a second he replied back to her.

"Will visit you tomorrow,"

He sent and her eyes widened,

"Really can't wait,"

She sent and video called him,he picked up and his face came to view.

He was shirtless as he held a plate in his hand and Catrina smiled.

"I missed you Brandon," she cooed.

"Same here baby," Brandon replied.

Catrina was about replying when she heard a lady's voice in the background.

"Who is that?" She asked not in the one bit suspicious.

"Uhm... she's... It's my cousin who came to visit," he stuttered and Catrina raised her brow wondering why he stuttered.

"What? You don't trust me?" Brandon asked, feigning anger.

"Of course I do," Catrina replied in an heartbeat.

"Have to go now baby, going to school," Brandon said and Catrina scoffed.

"Always late to school," she sneered and Brandon laughed.

"Bye love you," he said and disconnected the call.

Catrina smiled and dropped the phone,a woman dressed in the maid attire walked in.

Catrina turned and smiled when she saw her.

She's the oldest maid in the house.

"Ma'am Rachel," she called and the woman smiled.

"How you doing today cutie?" Rachel said as she stroked her long hair.

"As usual," Catrina replied with a sad smile and Rachel sighed.

She saw the marks on her body and she shook her head.

"It's sad you are passing through this Catrina, your mother was a good woman before she died," Rachel said with a regretful sigh.

"I can't do anything ma'am Rachel,I just have to take whatever comes," Catrina mumbled with her head lowered.

"Why not run away huh,I've been telling you this," Rachel tried to convince her.

Catrina was about speaking when a car drove in and her eyes widened.

"She's back,maybe she forgot something,I have to go," she said and scurried away.
