Admirer.
Bambi POV.
"You got a secret admirer," Eliot says, I was scrubbing the stairwell, I doubt anyone would think I look pretty or sex while cleaning, I'm sweating, and I'm tired, I can't wait to get back home and shower, even if it's cold water, the cold water would feel wonderful over my sweaty body.
"No, I don't," I tell Eliot, he just likes teasing me, I've been here for about two months now, and my only friend is Eliot.
"Yes, you do, you've been sent this," he says holding up a flower for me, a flower? Who would have sent me this, it's probably from him.
"Yeah, sure I do, I totally believe it's not from you," I say with a smile, sometimes he makes the work a bit less miserable, he makes me feel better, he makes me laugh, he's my friend, and he understands me, and understand my pain.
"Hey, really, you're not my type red," he says with a wink, sometimes I'm his type and others I'm not, depending on his mood and what we are talking about.
"Who sent it to me then?" I ask him raising a brow at him, really who would have sent me a flower?
"Someone, I can't reveal my sources," he says, I took the flower but didn't believe him, I knew it was from him, and it's why I kept it hidden, too worried we might get in trouble if someone knew I had a flower or where it might have come from.
"Fine," I say and get back to my work, the stairs were my job for the day, to scrub them up and down, again and again, while trying to stay out of everyone's way, which was hard, seeing that I'm cleaning the stairs.
The day was very long, it's always long, I'm taking extra shifts, extra hours to save up more money, the more money I can save the more I could get my mother her needed medicine, and that would make her screams get lower, and her pain to be lesser.
But finally, after so long, the day was over, it took forever to end, but it ended, it was dark outside when I left, my feet hurt, yet again, they hurt everyday, soon I'll have to buy a bigger size shoe, since my feet are always swollen and hurt.
I walked toward the bus stop but was near tears by the time I made it there, the bus have left, it left without me, why did it leave without me? I'm so tired I can't walk back home! It's a very long walk, a really long walk back to the human district and to get back to my house.
Tears fell down my face, and I tried to wipe them away, but the tears kept going, other people looked at me, they glared at me, but crying on the street isn't the strangest thing to happen around here, it's a new world, where the humans cry, it's how the world goes on.
After a couple of minutes of crying, I couldn't keep on crying, I had to get back home, so I can rest my exhausted bones for a couple of hours before it was time for me to get back here, to come back here so I can spend the rest of my life cleaning this damn place, get paid close to nothing, and then use the money to buy my mother's medicine, the one that hates me, the one who doesn't recognize anything but her pain and the medicine she takes for it.
As I walked, I cried some more, the world is a cold place, it's dark and it hurt, but I have to stay strong, I have to be stronger than this cold world, but sometimes it's okay to break down and cry, everyone needs their down time, time to break and cry, and tonight it's my turn. As I was starting to get closer to the human district, cars were less now, no human got a car, and the ones that do have old ones, bad cars, maybe a couple of bicycles here and there. Maybe if I could save up, I'll buy a bicycle, but I can't save up, all my money is going to my mother's medicine, and I'm hardly keeping up with her increased demands.
"Get in," a voice says out of the dark, making me jump up, I looked to my side and saw there was a black car near me, where did this car come from? Why was so it so slow that I didn't hear it coming near me, but here it is, the black back window opened just far enough for me to hear the owner's voice, the one telling me to get in.
"Uhhh...no thank you," I say, I didn't want to get in with a total stranger, he could kidnap me, he could sell me off in the black marker, and I'm afraid.
"Get in Red," Eliot says, his voice coming from inside the car, what is he doing in the car of some random supernatural?
"Eliot?" I ask confused, why is he in there, he's my friend, and I trust him, but I'm not so sure about the supernatural, the owner of the voice and the car.
"Get in, I'll give you a lift," the voice owner says again, this time in a nicer voice, a sweeter voice, I nod and get in the car with him, it's better than walking, and Eliot is there with me, nothing to be afraid of with my friend around right?
"Okay," I say getting in the car with them, it was the most luxurious leather seat I have ever sat in, I've only been inside buses and never a car.
I gave Eliot a look of confusion, the supernatural face was hidden behind sun shades, which is weird since it's nighttime, but I guess he doesn't want me to recognize him, he doesn't ask where I live or who I'm, the ride was very quiet, as we made it toward the human district.
"Its nice meeting you Red," the supernatural says as the car pulls to the side, we're in the middle of the human district, not too far from my place, I could leave now and walk the rest of the way, it's nothing compared to walking from work over here.
"Thank you...for the ride," I say getting up, I looked at Eliot giving him a look since he's still sitting in the car.
"See you tomorrow Red," Eliot says, waving bye at me, I continued my walk home, completely confused of what have just happened
