Warren then turned to me with a smile and arms open wide coming in for a hug. « I’m sorry kitten, I promise you I won’t ever do that again. »

« Lies » I said into his chest and hugged him back. At my 5 »3 stature I had to crane my neck back to look him in his eyes with his 6 »2 height. « You’ve done this more times than I can count on both hands War, why would I believe you would stop now you big oaf. »

« Hey, that’s a big wolf to you Lil kitten. » He winked at me and grabbed the extra bottle of water I had taken out and drank the entire thing in one sitting. « Well you better call Jess before she gets mad at you for not telling her that you’re home. »

I whispered under my breath « phone of mine, show yourself, call up Jessica Lup. »

Then my phone showed up in my hand with the screen on, showing that it was calling Jess.

« I still can’t get over how freaky that shit is. Even though you’re a wolf and have alpha blood your still able to use magic and do all sorts of unnatural natural type shit »

I look at him and tell him to shush while I heard Jess’s voice over the line. « Hey bestie, just calling to let you know I’m home and that you can come over now. »

She squealed and then shouted « Yass girl’s night in ! »

It’s the hundredth time we’ve had a sleepover and she acts as if it’s her first. Not to mention the high pitch squeals that will one day bring my hearing to a halt.

I sighed and smirked « I’ll get everything ready over here, oh and Warren is here too. »

Jess and War have a complicated friendship. I knew Warren before I knew Jess but we’ve still been the best of friends.

Turns out that Warren had broken her heart and slept with her twice after that. Right now it would seem like they’ve moved passed it but in all honesty there’s still a bunch of tension between the two.

Maybe even sexual tension. I was answered by silence. Then the voice of my girlfriend. When she spoke she said « I’ll be right over, my things are already packed. » Her tone was brought down from hyped to neutral. I found it odd.

The silence and the way she said she would be right over, meant something was up between the two but I didn’t want to push it any further. So I said « Cool, see you then. » and ended the call and went to get her room ready with Warren following suit.

By the time everything was ready, Warren and I decided to watch t.v. in my room. I heard a car pull up to the front gate.

I turned on my phone and went to the security app and checked who was at the front gate. Jess punched in the code and entered.

While her car rolled in something caught my attention. Something, or rather someone, followed her onto my property.

I placed my phone on the nightstand to charge and groaned inwardly. I hated that I had an intruder. It seemed to be happening more regularly since I’ll be turning 20 on the 10th of May, which marks the final bit of my powers to be awakened and me having to practice even harder.

The shadowy figure was fast but it wasn’t something that my eyes couldn’t keep up with. I teleported to the front door and opened it before Jessica could knock on it.

« Hey bestie come on in, » I said as she entered with her stuff. I took a quick outside and adjusted my sight to be able to see further into the darkness, but I didn’t see the shadowy figure again.

I lock all the doors and shut all the first-floor lights off and then followed Jess up the stairs.

In my room I have a mini lounging spot with a flat-screen t.v. up against the wall with video game controllers below it and a sofa set around it.

Across from the t.v. was my walk-in-closet and next to that was the bathroom.

My bed takes up a lot of space but on the left side of it is my nightstand and a door that leads to a patio. Alongside that door is my drawer and my desk where I do all my work and my writing.

The same time I went to the bathroom, Jess went to drop her bag into the room she usually sleeps in that was located on the right across from my room, but before I closed the door I took a quick glance into my room and saw Warren heading out.

After I did my business in the bathroom I sat on the toilet and wondered what they were up to. I searched the bathroom cabinet for a compact mirror and opened it.

I chanted under my breath quickly « let me see what I want to see, let me hear what I want to hear, make it so, in this mirror that is near » and with that, I saw Warren and Jess in the other room making out.

It didn’t come as a shock to me. I was just disappointed in their actions. They both had a mate out there somewhere but here they were fornicating with one another, in a guest room across the hall from my room.

I exited my bathroom and closed my room door before sitting on my bed and changing the channel. I finally stumbled on a fantasy movie and relaxed into the bed.

Sometime after the movie ended I fell asleep. Note that neither Jess nor War had returned to my room that night. Not even to tell me they were leaving.

I woke up to hearing my house alarm going off. That better not be that stupid intruder. Still sleep dazed, I felt my pockets for my phone. Where the fuck did I leave it again ? Ugh I guess I got to use my powers then.

I said a quick chant under my breath after stepping in front of my mirror and saw what I hoped I wouldn’t have to deal with again for a long while. Vampires. Dumb, blood-sucking, pain in the neck, half-blooded vampires.

« Oh element of the sun, I ask thee to lend me your light, hear my voice and grant me your power » I shone the light onto the vampire that intruded and burnt him until he turned to a pile of ash.

I shut off the alarm and walked over to Jess’s room. »Stupid sluts copulating on my property and not even helping a beacon out ! » I grumble under my breath in anger. I push open the door, beaming in anger. What shocked me more was the scene in front of me.

« How ? » Was all I could bring myself to say.

« Just how could they do this bullshit to me of all people ?! Ugh !! »

Katalina’s POV

« How ? »

« Just how could they do this bullshit to me of all people ?! Ugh !! » How in the world did they end up leaving the room in such a mess ?! Where the fuck are they ?! I was livid.

Jess and War were nowhere to be seen. I took a deep breath and listened. I listened for any signs I could get. Breathing, a heartbeat, hell even moaning. But not a single peep.

I was home alone. Why would Jess do this to me ? I asked myself. Was hanging out with Warren more fun than me ? Yeah Warren was a nice guy once you got to know him. But to leave and not say anything ? That’s something else as a whole.

Being too tired to fully function I headed back to my room. I took a quick shower and put on my silky black booty shorts and a black crop top to match and laid on my bed. Tomorrow’s Saturday. So I’ll go grocery shopping and clean up a bit then head to the packhouse to see Nivea.

With those words I closed my eyes and slowly drifted back to sleep. The light hit my face as the morning sun came up.
