CHAPTER 5: FIRE AND CHAINS

‎The roar of the bikes outside was louder this time, almost deafening, a reminder that Ryder Blackthorn’s world didn’t sleep. Izzy leaned against the wall of her apartment, coffee in hand, trying to steady her nerves. The memory of last night’s encounter in the garage still burned her skin, a sweet, dangerous ache that refused to fade.

‎She hated it. Hated how much she wanted him. Hated how her body betrayed her, hot and trembling, every time she thought about his hands, his lips, the way he dominated her without even trying. But mostly, she hated how much she needed him.

‎Her phone buzzed. Ryder. Again. Her pulse hit triple time. She ignored it, then hesitated, thumb hovering over the screen.

‎"You’re thinking about me. Stop lying to yourself."

‎Fuck. He was right. She couldn’t stop thinking about him, couldn’t stop craving the thrill, the danger, the fire he brought into her world. She typed back before she could stop herself:

‎"You’re insane."

‎"And you love it," came the instant reply.

‎Her stomach twisted, part adrenaline, part desire. God, he was like a fucking drug she couldn’t quit.

‎By evening, she found herself walking toward the club again, leather boots clicking against the pavement. The air smelled of gasoline, oil, and something dark—something intoxicatingly Ryder. Every step brought her closer to danger, to temptation, and she didn’t give a single damn about stopping.

‎Ryder was waiting, as always, leaning against his bike like a fucking god of chaos. The moonlight gleamed off the chrome, highlighting his broad shoulders and the sharp angles of his face. He smirked the moment their eyes met.

‎“Damn, you’re persistent,” he said, voice low and rough. “Most women would have puked their guts out after a taste of my world. You? You just keep coming back.”

‎“I’m not most women,” she shot back, heart racing, cheeks flushing.

‎He laughed, a deep, throaty sound that made her knees weak. “I can see that,” he said, stepping closer, letting the leather of his jacket brush hers. The smell of him—leather, musk, and something darkly sweet—hit her like a punch to the chest. “But that doesn’t mean you’re ready.”

‎“Then make me ready,” she said, surprising even herself with the steel in her voice.

‎Ryder’s eyes darkened, smoldering with desire and something darker, something dangerous. “Oh, Izzy… you have no fucking clue what you’re asking for.”

‎And then he kissed her.

‎It wasn’t gentle. Not a playful tease like before. It was urgent, demanding, claiming, and she responded in kind, pressing herself against him, tasting the fire he carried. Every nerve in her body screamed as his hands roamed over her, teasing, teasing, testing limits she didn’t know she had.

‎“Fuck,” he groaned, breaking the kiss for just a second, his forehead pressed against hers. “You’re like a goddamn storm, Izzy. I don’t know if I can control myself around you.”

‎“You don’t have to,” she whispered, lips brushing his again. Her hands tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, desperate for more, and the world outside—the club, the bikes, the danger—faded into nothing but the heat between them.

‎Ryder grabbed her hand, pulling her toward the private garage tucked behind the club. Every step, every brush of his body against hers, sent shocks through her, igniting every inch of skin he touched. The door closed behind them, muffling the noise of the city, leaving them in a world that existed solely for desire and danger.

‎“You want to play with fire, Izzy?” he asked, voice low, teasing, dangerous.

‎“I’m already on fire,” she admitted, voice shaky, body trembling.

‎He smirked, that dangerous, cocky smirk that made her feel like she was falling into a chasm she’d never climb out of. And he pushed her gently onto a workbench, leaning over her, his hands exploring, teasing, claiming.

‎“You’re driving me fucking insane,” he muttered, nipping at her neck, leaving marks that would be impossible to hide. “Goddamn it, you feel too damn good.”

‎Izzy gasped, lost in sensation, every nerve alive. “Ryder…” she whispered, barely able to form words. “Please…”

‎“Please what?” he taunted, his lips ghosting over hers, brushing, teasing, never fully giving her relief.

‎“Stop teasing me,” she finally gasped, her hands clutching at his chest.

‎He chuckled darkly. “No. Not yet. You’re learning, Izzy. You’re learning how much you can take… and how much you want.”

‎Hours passed—or maybe it was minutes; time lost all meaning. Every kiss, every touch, every whisper was a lesson, a push, a pull that left her breathless, trembling, aching in ways she hadn’t known were possible. Ryder’s dominance was intoxicating, terrifying, and utterly consuming.

‎When they finally collapsed against each other, sweat-slicked and ragged, Izzy realized something terrifying: she wasn’t just drawn to him. She was addicted. She was his, whether she wanted to admit it or not, and the thought both thrilled and terrified her.

‎Ryder’s lips brushed hers one last time before he pulled back slightly, eyes dark and smoldering. “You’re mine, Izzy. Fucking remember that.”

‎“Yes,” she breathed. “I… I know.”

‎And in that moment, surrounded by the scent of leather and danger, Izzy understood that her life had changed forever. She had stepped fully into Ryder Blackthorn’s world—one of fire, lust, and legacy—and there was no way back.
