“Mom, why did you switch off the T.V.?, I was watching".
“Come on, Lara, I’ve been calling you since. It’s time for breakfast and the school bus would soon be here, I’ve told you over time to stop watching these things. You’re too young for that,” she said. She took the T.V. remote with her.
Lara stood up and left not saying a word to her mother, She walked to the dining room. The dining room was far from the living room it was a few rooms far, The dining room was large, a large carpet was laid right on the middle of the room, the embroidery designs on the carpet were breathtaking. On the carpet was a large wooden table and chairs laid in the middle of the room, every chair had the cutlery arranged in front with a napkin by the side and a bottle water.
The dining table could accommodate at least twenty people. The decor of the room was beautiful, the walls were coated with milk-colored paint, the floors were also of milk-colored tiles. The ceilings were high and the curtains had beautiful embroidery designs on them. There was a chair and a small carpet right at the end of the room that faced the large TV screen, the room was highly air-conditioned, the lighting of the room was a bit dim.
"Come on Lara, sit." Lara's mother said to her while pointing at a chair next to her.
Lara's mother rang the bell that was next to her chair, a few minutes a man walked in dressed in a black trouser and white button-up shirt and a name tag on his shirt, bearing the name Steve.
He wore hand gloves and had a wide smile that spread across his face, on his right hand was a tray he held. He rang a bell that he held in his left hand and other people entered the room, they were dressed like him with trays in their hands and they all wore smiles that spread across their faces. They stood next to the table laying their trays on the table while Steve stood beside Lara.
"Good morning Ma'am." He said to Lara, He looked up and he was met by her eyes. Lara looked at him as if she could see his soul, her brown eyes became darker, It was like she was controlling him because he couldn't move his eyes, he couldn't stop looking at her. Lara's eyes were darker and darker. She kept still and didn't say a word, her eyes were slowly bleeding. She looked into Steve's eye more.
"Good morning." Lara's mother answered which made Lara lose her focus and their eyes parted ways. Lara looked down not wanting to look at Steve nor anyone else.
"What do we have for breakfast this morning?." Lara's mother asked.
"We have this morning, fried bacon, with toasted bread, a roasted chicken, fruit salad, scrambled eggs and boiled eggs, garlic bread, breakfast burrito, fried chips, pancakes, cereals, oats." Steve said.
"Okay, You may leave now." Lara's mother said.
"What do you want to eat baby?." Her mother asked while smiling.
"Sangre (Blood)." Lara answered.
"What's that baby."
"Nothing mommy, just something I learnt on TV."
"What do you want to eat?."
"Pancakes." Lara answered while looking down, she still hasn't looked up after the incident with Steve.
"Okay." Her mother said while serving her the food, Lara ate without saying a word, she finished her whole food not saying a word to her mother.
"You are done, come on you can go watch TV okay." Her mother said.
"No mommy, I will stay here for a while." Lara said while still looking down, her eyes which had been blood shot were slowly coming back to normal. She sat there for over twenty minutes, during which her mother had left. After twenty minutes Lara stood up and left. She went into the living room, sat down and she was about to switch on the television when she heard her mother call her.
“Lara, grab your lunch. The school bus is about to arrive, I'm sure you don't want to be late.”
She hurried with her pattering feet. As she collected her lunch, Lara lowered her head, sighing.
“Lara, come here darling, are you mad at Mommy?. She nodded a "yes".
"Look, Mommy is sorry. She won’t shout again, but you at ten years old, those things are not good for your age now, watch other things like cartoon but not that. Please, don’t be upset okay? Mommy won't do it again".
Lara gave her mom a smile. “Don’t worry, mommy. I’m not upset.” Both mother and daughter hugged each other when a yellow vehicle appeared from the horizon. “Bye, mommy, the bus is here,” she announced while bounding off to the bus.
A bus painted in yellow and black stood in front of their house, the bus was big enough to accommodate more than thirty pupils. It was a luxury bus, that had an air-conditioner in it, and leathered comfortable seats. Her mom walked her to the bus and bid her farewell. "Bye baby, stay save, do eat your lunch".
"Okay, Bye Mommy, love you too".
The way a coin has two sides shows how Lara was. At homes, she was quiet, friendly, and an angel, but at school, she was a rebel. No one will see her at home and believe it was her. It was like she changes every time she is at home. Lots of complaints were sent to her mom. Her mom would always ask Lara if she was responsible for her mischief, and she will deny it all. Her mother trusted her daughter so much that one would think she was under a spell or she was hypnotized, She loved Lara so much that she believed every word she uttered, Lara was her Angel and her baby. To her, Lara meant a lot, she pampered her so much, She loved Lara more than her life.
Lara wasn't like other children, she hated dolls, she hates playing, she doesn't prank or play around.
Lara is like the wind that could keep you chilly or destroy you.
