Uncertainty

"You're making empty threats, you can't do anything", Ruby said.

She got into her car and drove off, heading towards Stella's house. It was a few minutes drive. Moon Mountain Pack, is a closely knitted community with beautiful greenery surrounding it.

As soon as she arrived, Stella came out looking worried. Ruby got out of the car and Stella hugged her warmly.

"I read your text, Ruby. I can't believe Conri would do such a thing. That devil called Dew is evil," Stella said angrily.

Ruby was devastated by what had happened, but then she could not change any of that.

Stella took Ruby inside her house. She sat close to Ruby, her eyes wore a worried look.

Ruby robbed her stomach gently.

"I will stay strong for my baby," said Ruby, almost in tears.

"Have you told your father?" Stella asked, her voice laced with concern.

"I have decided to move on with my life. He doesn't even care about me. He treats me with contempt," Ruby said.

Stella looked at her friend with sympathy, Ruby had always been at the receiving end.

"You said you're leaving the pack," Stella asked.

"Yes, I can't remain here. I need a fresh start. Moon Mountain Pack is not the place for that. I don't want Conri to know I am carrying his heir. I am better off without him. I will leave the country this evening. I came to say goodbye," Ruby said as she sniffed back tears.

Stella was crestfallen, she had known Ruby since they were little. Stella's mother was an Omega who worked as a maid for Ruby's family.

When Ruby's mother died, Alpha Deon, Ruby's father married Dew's mother. She became the new Luna of WolfBay Pack. Dew's mother changed all the domestic workers and Stella's mother lost her job.

Their friendship grew from strength to strength. Now, Ruby is leaving. She resigned to fate, Ruby deserves to be happy.

She hugged Ruby." I will miss you."

"I will miss you too," Ruby said.

Her phone rang and Ruby answered.

" Ruby, come to the town hall for the rejection ceremony, I am waiting," Conri said.

The call ended abruptly, not giving Ruby a chance to speak.

"It's time for the rejection ceremony," Ruby said.

"Can't just ignore him and leave. I think the rejection might harm the baby," Stella told her in a concerned tone.

"I don't think so. I'll only feel pain because my mate is rejecting me. I can take it. Thanks for your concern, Stella," said Ruby.

Ruby grabbed her purse and got up, and Stella followed suit.

She got into the car and Ruby stood by watching. A tear slipped down her face and she flicked it away. Watching the only friend she had left. It was a painful ordeal.

"Can I come with you? please," Stella pleaded.

"I am fine. After the rejection, I will drive to the airport. Someone will bring the car to you. You can keep it," Ruby said.

"Take care, Ruby," Stella waved. " And thanks for the gift."

Ruby smiled." Stop it, you deserve more. I'll call you."

Ruby drove off while Stella stood, tears flowed. She felt like a huge chunk of her was yanked off.

Ruby walked into the hall, determined to end all of this. She met Conri standing alone in the hall. His gaze was cold and unyielding.

"You're here, let's get this over with," Conri said

"Okay," Ruby replied.

"Let's begin. "I, Alpha Conri Damont of the Moon Mountain Pack, reject you, Ruby Moore, as my mate and Luna."

Ruby felt a pang, she swooned in pain, clutching at her chest, she gasped for air. With gritted teeth, she managed to let the words out.

"I, Ruby Moore, Former Luna of the Moon Mountain Pack, accept your rejection, Alpha Conri Damont."

I fell to my knees in pain, something flew out of her. Groaning, she steadied her balance and stood up. Conri regarded her with a disdainful look.

Then he left her brushing her shoulders in the process, that act almost sent her down but she tugged at her inner strength and stood still.

When she got in her car, she sat there thinking about everything and how fate had twisted her life. She burst into tears and wept.

At least she has a baby to think of. She will pour out her love to her baby. With a strong resolve, she started her car and drove off.

She will miss Moon Mountain Pack but she needs to heal. She took a lonely road to the airport, it was the fastest. She would have driven through the busy one, but it will take time and she needs to be out of here immediately.

Every second reminds her of the pain she bore in her heart.

Suddenly, like a bolt of lightning, a truck crashed into hers. She hit the steering wheel with force. Blood dribbled down from her head from a small cut.

Then the truck slammed into hers again, sending her car out of the road.

Ruby's car skidded and crashed into a huge tree which was by the side of the road.

There was no one driving by to help. The once sleek car bore marks of the collision. The windows had shattered in the process. The smell of gasoline filled the air.

Ruby was panting, she was in shock. With all her strength, she kicked the jammed door open and fell out.

She winced in pain as she hit the ground with a thud.

As she struggled to get up from the ground, she saw a man drawing closer with a gun.

She gasped, her head was aching. The collision was hard on her and she was bleeding from the cut on her head.

Her heart drummed in fear.

Her life was in danger.
