"There's good news ma'am, from the test carried out. You're pregnant," the female doctor announced, beaming with smiles.

Ruby's eyes sparkled with surprise, she felt like

screaming for joy. "Wow!, finally. I'm about to become a mother."

The doctor gave her the test results and went back to her seat.

"This is your first trimester. You need to rest and avoid activities that can pose a threat to you and the baby. Aside from that, you and the baby are in good condition," the doctor spoke calmly.

Ruby could hardly contain how she felt. She thanked the doctor and left.

The smell of disinfectant permeated the air, she never liked the smell but on a day like this, she cared less.

"I need to deliver this news to Conri," she muttered to herself, smiling.

When they got to the house, she got down and went in. Smiling at the domestic workers she met and waved as they greeted her. They were equally surprised, they had never seen her so excited.

Gladys bowed when she sighted Ruby. " Luna, you're back, welcome. I was about to make lunch."

Gladys's eyebrows raised in surprise, then she nodded. "Yes, Luna. I'll stay around to help."

"You can take the day off, I know my way around the kitchen, trust me," she laughed. Her eyes were shining brightly.

"Okay," Gladys took out her apron and left.

As soon as Ruby finished preparing lunch, she packed some for Conri. It's his favorite meal. She'll surprise him at his office and equally announce the good news.

Eagerly, she took the bag containing his lunch and left.

Kyle saw Ruby approaching, he quickly opened the door.

"Take me to Bricks Inc. I want to surprise my husband," Ruby said cheerfully.

A few minutes later, they arrived at the company. It was a huge building. The company has Conri as the CEO. His sharp business acumen has brought immense success to the company.

Ruby got down, and her phone rang. It was Stella, her friend. She quickly handed the bag to Kyle and answered the phone.

"Hi, Ruby," Stella voiced.

Ruby walked away from Kyle and spoke in a hushed tone. She doesn't want anyone to hear what she was about to say

"Stella, guess what," Ruby said happily.

"You know I am not good at guessing, just tell me already," Stella said anxiously.

"Calm down, Stella. I know you are happy but don't burst my eardrum," said Ruby softly.

"Silly girl. I'll express my feelings the way I want to. Thank the goddess. The pack will be happy to have an heir. And Conri too," Stella replied.

"I am at his office, I want to surprise him with the news," Ruby laughed.

"Wow, that's great. I will call you later, bye."

The phone clicked, signaling the end of the phone call.

Ruby walked back to Kyle and collected the bag from him. Kyle waited behind as he watched Luna leave.

When she got in, she met the receptionist working on a file. The receptionist looked up and saw her.

" Is my husband in, I am here to see him," Ruby said.

The receptionist stared in confusion, Luna hardly visited her husband. And she had gotten strict instructions not to let anyone in.

"Ma'am, he is busy and doesn't want to be interrupted," the receptionist said.

Ruby sighed, she should have called him to let him know she was coming.

But then, it won't be a surprise again.

"I understand you're doing your job, can you just call him, to tell him I am here to see him," Ruby pleaded.

An employee stepped out of the elevator and smiled at Ruby. Then she went to the receptionist, they were having a conversation.

Ruby saw an opportunity, quickly she walked fast to his office.

The receptionist realized what was happening and she stood up and spoke loudly. " You're not allowed to go in."

Ruby was already at the door to pay heed. She paused when she heard voices. Then she pressed her ears to the door and listened.

"My darling Conri, I have missed you so much," a female voice said, sounding seductive.

Ruby could not believe her ears. This can't be.

"You know I am still married to Ruby, we need to keep a low profile for now," Conri responded.

With indignation, Ruby pushed the door open and stood in shock.

It was her husband kissing her step sister who sat on his lap.

They both stared at her.

The bag fell from her hand spilling the food on the floor.

Ruby could not believe her eyes, she staggered and almost fell.

Dew, her step-sister regarded her with a triumphant look and sneered. Still sitting on Conri's lap.

Conri acted like nothing happened, he showed no signs of being remorseful.

Ruby's chest tightened in shock. "Conri, how could you do this to me, I am your wife."
