Chapter 10 Ten

"You can't even stay serious for a minute" Joshua said as he held out his hand to help Semiloore get down from the fence they had been sitting down

"11 minutes babes" Semiloore replied back as she jumped down and turned to Joshua

"Its your life and yours only, you should live it forever memories will forever be memories but you gotta move on, okay?"

"Okay"

"Promise?"

"Promise"

Semiloore smiles at him and Joshua is dazzled by the smile

"You okay?" John asks snapping him out of his trance

"Am fine" John smiles

"I see"

"What's with that smile?" Semiloore asks John "Ohh, don't even think about it, prick's not my style at all"

Joshua held his chest in mockery "You just broke my heart"

John and Semiloore burst into laughter.

"Idiot"

"You seem fine" Nathaniel's voice interrupts

"Am good man" Joshua replied smiling

"You sure?"

"Sure!"

"You smile and laugh too much that I don't even know whether you are faking it or its real"

"Semiloore is here, how I can fake it?"

A smile lits up Nathaniel's face "Can we talk then?".

"Sure"

They both walk far into the garden and Nathaniel turns to him

"Am sorry"

"For what?"

"Everything about this matter"

"Its not your fault"

"No, I should have pushed her away for using you, I should have done something but I didn't do anything and today I even couldn't tell her to go and Semiloore who barely joined us when stood up for you and I feel so ashamed"

"Its not your fault Nathaniel, you like her naturally you should keep her by your side"

Nathaniel frowned "When did I say I liked her?"

Joshua's eyes widened "You don't?"

"Does Tara look like someone I can date?"

Joshua laughs at his sarcasm "Of course not, honestly am pained but am gonna move on, forget about everything" Nathaniel nods as they walk back

"What do you think they went to talk about?" John asks.

"How am I supposed to know that?"

"I'll tell you, Nath wants to apologize"

"Why?"

"He feels guilty"

"Guilty?"

"Yeah, you stood up for him while he watched"

"Ohh, he's a jerk if you ask me"

"He's not"

Semiloore sneers in reply

"You can't just judge him without knowing him"

"I know a little, i know he's really cute and super sexy, he's hot too and let's say his arrogance is attractive"

John blinks at her "Whoa!"

"What? I can't compliment someone again?"

"No, you can always can"

Joshua walks back with Nathaniel and they sit on the grass crossing their legs

"I'll better get going" Semiloore says feeling uncomfortable in between the trio

"Where to?" Joshua asks as Semiloore tries to stand up

"Class of course"

"Awey, sit down" Joshua replied as he tugged on her leg. Semiloore yelped as she lost her footing and came crashing on the grass but instead on the grass she landed neatly in Nathaniel's laps making her freeze. She turned to face Nathaniel who was staring back at her with an expressionless face. His face was void of any pimples and they glowered in the sun, his pink lips were pulled in a thin line and his usual brown eyes were staring down at her.

Nathaniel didn't move as Semiloore fell into his laps. She was nothing but trouble, his head had told her from her first day and the days that followed had proved it but he liked this trouble, she had a funny way of showing her affection to her friends. She called Peter lousy and Maria shorty;the two never complained and even answered if she yelled from afar. Except from her foul mouth, she was actually an amazing girl and a funny one, at least she had managed to make him laugh several times. He stared down at her own black eyes who was taking in his every feature. She didn't even notice she was clutching to his shirt. He caught himself first

"If you continue grabbing my shirt like that, it'll get crumpled" Nathaniel said bringing Semiloore back into the present. Semiloore jumped out of his laps red

"Sorry" she muttered before disappearing. Nathaniel turned to the boys and rolled his eyes

"Don't even think of it" and Joshua and John bursts into laughter sending a smile up his face.

"You are red" Tamiloore says and the others glanced at her. Semiloore had been eerily quiet since she came back for lunch

"Huh?"

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing"

Theo just laughed; her flushed state could tell him roughly what happened

"Did someone you like compliment you?" He asked sipping on his orange juice and Semiloore went tomato red

"No!"

Theo burst into laughter "You need to see your face right now!"

Others shook their heads as Semiloore kept mumbling something incoherently.

"Hey" Jerry called as he walked up to their table. His brows furrowed as he noticed Semiloore's flushed state.

"Huh?"

"You are red" he pointed out blankly

"Arrgh... " Semiloore cringed as she stood up and walked to the girls restroom.

"Just tell her that Mr Williams asked her to join them Nathaniel's group for her project and that she's the spokesperson, I've told Nath"

"Team Pluto?" Peter asks

"Yeah"

Peter whistled "Semiloore's lazy days are over"

Jerry laughed softly "Yeah. She was never actually lazy was she?"

"Nah"

"Why say that?" Tamiloore asks

"Team Pluto, their project is kinda complex"

"Nathaniel complains a great deal"

"They'll be fine" Tamiloore shrugs

"Alright, I'll see you guys later" Jerry says and walks off.

Semiloore continued to splash water on her flushed face as her red face calmed down and went back to normal

"Fuck you Nathaniel" she mumbled softly

"Hey"

"Prisca"

Prisca was in F so they weren't in the same class

"How are you?"

"Am good"

"Need powder?"

Prisca asked seeing Semiloore dry her face. The latter offered her a big smile

"You are my savior"

Prisca gives her a dazzled smile before powdering her face for her.

"There"

Semiloore looks into the mirror and smiles

"I can't believe I fell directly into his laps"

"Huh?"

"Sorry I wasn't talking to you, I should get to my food".

"Okay, see ya"

Semiloore walks off and Prisca shakes her head "Silly girl"

"Why do I have to be in that team of all teams?" Semiloore whined

"Sorry" Maria replied laughing. Semiloore sighed, how was she supposed to face Nathaniel now? She practically ran away!

"Hey pretty I heard you are in our team" Joshua says and everyone turns to him

"Don't call me pretty" Semiloore hisses

"But you are pretty" Joshua says and pouts obviously teasing her

"Whatever don't just call me pretty"

Everyone laughs

"Why is fun when you tease everybody and its not fun when you are being teased? You are so boring" Joshua says and Semiloore glares at him "Idiot"

"I thought the pet name you gave me was prick"

Semiloore turned to him "No teasing guy, why do I have to be in your group? Am so lazy yet am put in the team with the most complex topic eh?"

John laughs as he looks at her

"And its not that complex as others see it oo"

"We have four if not three more weeks to submit the project"

"Okay, where do we meet?"

"Nath's house"

"Huh?"

"Naths's house awey"

"When?"

"Every Saturday"

"You know his house bah?"

Semiloore frowns at John "Of course I do"
