Chapter 3 My Husband

Ruby only prepared one meat dish and one vegetable dish for Liam .

Evelyn thought it was too shabby, so she took a can of fish, a can of fruit, and cut a piece of ham from the shelf.

Ruby couldn't help but nag again, saying that it was her first time to meet her parents at home and she didn't bring any gifts.

"What? Evelyn , you're married? When did you get a boyfriend? How come I didn't know?" Elsie suddenly raised her voice. She was planning to find Young Master Ferguson to get the engagement date in the afternoon!

"We've known each other for many years, and only recently confirmed our relationship!" Evelyn pulled Liam to sit down and eat.

There was a hint of jealousy in Elsie's eyes.

Alfie Carter heard that Evelyn was married, he limped back from outside, still wearing his delivery worker's clothes.

Liam finished washing the dishes and came out of the kitchen.

Evelyn pulled her hand back, her cheeks flushed. Not wanting Liam to see the family laugh, she explained, "Pregnant women get emotional easily. She's not targeting you."

Liam rubbed the remaining warmth on his fingers, "You shouldn't have indulged her."

If it were him, he would kick such a sister-in-law out of the house!

"I've put up with it for five months and I'm moving out soon, why bother making things unpleasant anymore! My brother still has to live with her!"
