Chapter 3

“BABY, I miss you...” Casey whispered to her boyfriend’s ear when they see each other after his extended stay in Dubai. “I thought I wouldn’t be able to see you before my birthday.”

Jonas smiled. “I will never miss your birthday, baby...” he said and captured her lips. “I miss everything about you.” His hands ran down her chest and cupped her breasts. “I miss these...” He whispered and lowered his hand to her core. “And, this...”

Casey moaned when his finger started to stroke her clit over her thin lingerie. “I miss your touch...” she said in a hoarse voice and kissed his lips passionately.

Jonas’s hand made its way inside her underwear. His fingers parted her wet folds and teased her dripping entrance. “You’re wet, baby...” he said huskily as he pushed his finger inside her. “You’re always tight. I love it...”

She bit her lip to prevent her moans, but she failed. The hotel room got filled with her moans and groans. “Oh...” She arched her back to meet his thrust. “Deeper, Jonas...”

Jonas inserted his two fingers, and Casey whimpered in pleasure. His skilled fingers went in and out of her wet entrance, making her delirious in every thrust. She cocked her head to the ceiling as the swirl of heat started to form in her stomach. It grew stronger when Jonas sucked on her nipple while his hand on her mound thrust in and out.

“Oh... I’m coming—” She moaned loudly, and her rippling orgasm washed through her.

Jonas kissed her lips deeply as he withdrew his fingers from her dripping core. He lowered her on the bed and let her enjoy the last seconds of her orgasm.

“That was fast,” he said and laid on the bed beside her. “Casey...”

“Hmm?” Casey doesn’t like the sound of his voice calling her name. “What is it?”

Jonas took moments before he answered. “Let’s get married...”

Casey faced him with a knotted forehead. “Why so sudden?” she asked. “I thought you’re not yet ready to settle because of your research projects around Asia?”

“I know, but...” He shook his head. “Let’s just get married.”

Jonas is a researcher, in which field Casey doesn’t know. Whenever she asks him about his profession, he always says that it’s better if she doesn’t know. She’s starting to think that he’s just lying to her and that maybe he’s part of a terrorist group that often fly to oil center country to formulate atomic bombs. But of course, she was just overthinking.

They’ve been together for three years now. And within those years, Casey could count in her fingers how many times they met and have quality time together. Last year, Casey asked him to settle down and have a civil wedding because she knew that his schedules are always hectic. But he refused and even told her that marriage is not part of his plans.

“Don’t you want to marry me?” Jonas asked. “Are you in love with somebody else?”

Casey laughed. “I think I should be the one asking you that, Jonas.” She sat up and looked at him straight in the eyes. “Did you meet someone else abroad?”

The color left Jonas’s face. “No, baby...” he said and hugged her. “I’ve met a lot, yes, but none of them got my attention because you’re always on my mind—”

“Liar.” She pushed him. “You only need my money, baby... I sponsored your so-called research trip to Sahara because you said your group is an independent research team. But it’s all fake.”

“What are you saying, baby?” He held her hand. “That’s not true, Casey.”

She picked up her phone on the side table and showed him the photos that her sources gave her. “Then, how will you explain these proofs?”

Jonas opened his mouth, but no words came out. He looked at the photos in disbelief.

“I told you, Jonas. I have my ways,” she said and grabbed his bag on the bed. She looked for his wallet and took out all her ATM that she lends to him. “We’re done.”

“I TOLD you, Casey. That scientist is fake,” Art told Casey with a shake of his head. “You met him where? At the bar?” He laughed. “Is there a scientist that goes into a bar weekly?”

Casey pulled several plies of tissues and blew her nose. “I should have listened to you...” she said and cried louder. “He’s a bastard. He spent all my money on vices and luxury!”

“Miss Casey, I thought you’re single...” Sara peeked over the divider. “I never saw somebody pick you up here.”

Casey pursed her lips and glared at her. “Is that your measurement of being in a relationship?”

“Calm down, Casey.” Art tapped her shoulders. “If you’re life is a manuscript that I’m editing, the part that you met and had a relationship with that man are just fillers that should be removed and deleted. Your story could move on without him. He’s an irrelevant detail.”

Casey wiped her tears. “He’s a parasite.”

“Don’t worry, Miss Casey. I know that somewhere out there, the right man for you is just waiting,” Sara said and smiled.

She sighed. “Where is he? Did he get himself in traffic? Should I pick him up?”

Art laughed. “Don’t rush things, Casey,” he said and placed an envelope on her desk. “That is your pocket money for your trip to the Maldives. Forget about that scumbag. You have a lot of stories to cover. What time is your flight?”

Casey glanced at her watch. “Four P.M. I’ll leave in an hour.” She looked inside the envelope and gasped in surprise. “Will they deduct this from my salary?”

Art shrugged his shoulders. “Maybe it depends on the quality of your story,” he said. “Are you sure about this, Casey? Is Montefort Winery really worth telling?”

Casey raised from her seat and flipped her hair. “I’m sure of it, Art. Montefort Winery is hiding something from the public. They’re just using charity works to cover all their flaws. Yet secrets are worth to be revealed when the time needs it.” She faced the window of their office and stared at the clouds. “And this is the right time.”

“Why Montefort Winery?” Sara asked on a knotted forehead. “Is it because of the handsome CEO?”

Casey scowled at her colleague. “I don’t care about the CEO. I’m after the monster wife,” she said. “My news category is about scandals, remember?”
