Chapter 7: Stick-In-The-Mud?
Eric's POV
"Christmas isn't even here yet." I mumbled as Oliver explained he'd be on winter break and I wouldn't need to guard him, though it was still November.
"I'm not the one who gets to choose when break starts." he said shrugging as Ryder groaned.
"Who cares why, I'm just happy to be on break." he said and Oliver rolled his eyes.
"Well I'm still going to guard you." I said crossing my arms and he huffed.
"You look like a child." Ryder said smirking and Oliver shot him a glare before looking at me crossing his arms.
"You're not needed." Oliver said and I smirked snapping my fingers making him blink before Ryder jumped up and picked him up. "Put me down!" he screamed hitting Ryder's back.
"My point." I said as Ryder dropped him on his back.
"Ow." Oliver said sitting up and rubbed his back glaring up at us.
"If you're embarrassed of him then just invite him to our Christmas Eve Party so that way he'll get what he wants and he won't be noticed as your bodyguard most likely so you'll get what you want." Ryder said sitting in a computer chair.
"Hmm sounds good to me." I said nodding and glanced over at Oliver who just got back on his feet.
"Fine." Oliver huffed then pressed his finger on my chest. "You can only come and guard me on that day." he said and I raised a eyebrow.
"Or what? My job is to guard you, most guards 24/7 be happy that I'm not doing that and following you to the bathroom." I said and he pulled his finger away biting his nail gently on his thumb.
"True, that's even worse." Oliver mumbled to himself as Ryder yawned.
"I'm going out with some friends." Ryder said standing up and got his card to the room before leaving.
"He's going to a party isn't he?" I asked when Ryder closed the door behind him and Oliver sighed nodding.
"Probably." he said walking over to his desk where books and his laptop were.
"Studying?" I asked leaning against the door as he sat in the chair wincing slightly but most people would of not noticed he was uncomfortable.
I don't know him that well but I have learned some things these past two months. Like he wears sweaters a lot, always long sleeves. I asked him about it and he said he gets cold very easily. Which his skin is a bit pale.
"Yeah." he sighed again pulling his sleeve down slightly.
"Cold?" I asked and he nodded slowly so I got off the door and took my jacket off then put it over his shoulders making him look up at me. "A thank you would be nice." I said and his slightly pale skin cheeks tinted with pink as he huffed.
"Thank you." he said then looked down at his book and I rolled my eyes smiling then slumped down on his bed looking around. This was the longest I've been in here, Oliver loves to kick me out whenever I come this far to following him.
"I'm bored." I groaned laying back and he snorted.
"Find a way to entertain yourself, and your suppose to be a bodyguard and officer when you act like a child." he said smirking and I pouted.
"Rude." I said kicking my shoes off making him flinch then spin to face me glaring.
"Do you mind?" he asked and I smirked.
"Nope." I said sitting up and crossed my legs like a child sadly proving his point. He rolled his eyes spinning away from me to continue studying.
This kid hardly has fun. He stays in all the time barely goes outside. Maybe it's because it's chilly. Or I bet he's like this during the summer too. Probably why his skin is so pale, he doesn't get enough sun.
"Hey kid." I said leaning forward but he ignored me making me glare. I threw a pillow at him and he dropped growled lowly spinning to face me as I smirked. "Oops." I said shrugging and he picked up the pillow throwing it back at me but I caught it making him gasp then glare as I chuckled throwing it at him.
He failed miserably trying to catch it and ended up falling out his chair. I bit my lip then covered my mouth trying to contain my laughter as he rubbed his chin glaring up at me. But I couldn't hold it in anymore.
"Pft...hahahaha!" I laughed at him and he stood up with the pillow in hand glaring before smirking and I was too busy laughing so next thing I know I'm hit in the face with the pillow. I glared huffing with the pillow in my lap as he grinned in triumph. "That was rude I was in the middle of laughing." I said and he scoffed.
"At me!" he said and I laughed again making him roll his eyes but smiled.
"Had fun?" I asked as he was about to turn to his desk to study again but he turned back to look at me tilting his head.
"Yeah, why?" he asked as I put the pillow behind my head.
"You never do anything to have fun." I said and there was silence for a moment.
"So I'm a stick in the mud pretty much?" he asked huffing and I glanced at him shaking my head.
"No I didn't say that." I said.
"Well you implied it." he said slumping down in the seat wincing and I frowned slightly.
"I'm not saying to be like Ryder." I said sitting up.
"Of course you aren't." he said and I fell silent not really knowing what to say as soon as I opened my mouth to say something my phone rang. Oliver kept studying so I sighed answering it.
"Hello?" I said.
"Eric?" a voice asked and I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Who's this?" I asked getting off the bed.
"Megan."
My eyes widen and I started heading to the door.
"Where are you going?" I heard Oliver asked and I turned around to see him facing me. He searched my face and I gulped.
"Who's that?" Megan asked.
"Um don't call again." I said about to hang up.
"Eric I can see Samuel now I want to see my son." she said and I sighed as Oliver stared at me.
"I'll be right back." I said to him and he nodded and slowly turned away from me.
