Chapter 3

"Everyone is going?" he could not restrain from asking when he heard the conversation between his two friends. He was not included in the reunion because he wasn't a classmate and only Joanne's classmates would go. But he wanted to know something. He just wanted to confirm something.

He smiled as there was a strange gleam in his eyes. “Yes. By the way, Nathan, don't forget to buy a blue wooden bracelet at Haengbok Isle, huh? ”

He just nodded but his mind flew to the others. He hopes he could gain something from this trip.

Lyn rubbed her neck and put away her guitar. She still can't finish the song her boss asked her to make. This is the last song for the new album of the famous singer here in the Philippines Marshmallow. Her deadline was the other day but she did not finish it. But her boss is kind so he extends her deadline.

She works as a songwriter and composer at Music And Notes — the well-known music agency here in the Philippines run by Mr. Harvey Pascual. Harvey is almost the same age as him or he is only a few years older than him so they became friends with him even though he is the owner of Music And Notes.

The course he took when he was in college at Cebu was Management but when his family moved to the States even before he finished his third year he changed courses. He took a music course at Juilliard School — a world-renowned musical institution. After that he started making his own song.

When he returned to the Philippines, he submitted a resume to Music and Notes with some of the songs he did. He was hired and now he is one of the well-known songwriter-cum-composer-music arranger here in the country. In fact, he can return to the States with his family but he prefers to live here in the Philippines alone.

Because you still hope, fool!

He just shook his head to dispel that thought.

So Harvey extended his deadline because he had a new project with him. It is said that a well-known singer in Korea is now here in the Philippines and Harvey was talked to by the manager of that singer to help arrange the new album and song of the singer.

This is a great opportunity for him because his song will be recognized abroad so he agreed. What he will do is arrange the music because the song already has lyrics. Harvey added that he will work with the singer himself because he is the one who wrote the song. Harvey added that he will go to an island in Palawan because it is quiet there and that will help the singer think that he will meet.

He was impressed because of that. It is rare for singers today to make their own songs. Also, the songwriters also had a strong impact on him.
