Chapter 12

He had just realized that he liked Nathan more than the look of a friend he should have devoted to it. But he did not intend to tell his friend that because he was afraid of breaking their friendship. It's always like that, isn't it? There is always fear, there is apprehension. One more thing, it is enough for him to pay attention to it now even if it is just a friend. As long as Nathan will stay at her side, she’s contented to be his best girl friend.

But things changed now when he told her he likes someone else.

It used to be tempted several times to be gay but it did not move. He admits he thought that too but he immediately dismissed it in his mind. But here is the proof in front of him that his friend is a man but why can't he accept that?

Because you like him.

The wind blew him away. "Nathan, why Nicole?"

The Nicole he was referring to was the woman he allegedly wanted. He knew what it meant because it was his friend's cousin. Unlike Nathan who’s shy and somehow an introvert, Nicole is outgoing and sunny. It is friendly and a member of the organization here at SHA. Again, unlike Nathan who likes to keep into himself all the times.

"You can't choose your heart for who it wants, Lyn." He said calmly to her. Anyway, when did he see it raise his voice? Never.

When he looked into its eyes he saw the seriousness there. As he looked into her eyes, he felt an iron hand grip his heart and squeeze it firmly. He felt he could not breathe.

Why does my heart ache?

Again the wind blew him away. This is right. You can never choose your heart for who it will be. Because if he could, he would never choose to like Nathan because he did not want to ruin their friendship.

"I heard she likes Vincent Lee."

He glared at his friend. Vincent is the friend of his cousin Jerome. Vincent is famous here on their campus because of his cute nature and his beautiful voice. Someone frowned at him.

“No offense meant, Nathan. But if Nicole likes Vincent, then… ”she could not continue to say because she was afraid of offending and hurting Nathan.

Vincent was everything Nathan was not. If Nathan wants Nicole to like it, it has to change. And she didn’t like it. He does not want you to change just to be noticed and accepted by the person you want.

Nathan is your man regardless of what he looks like and looks like. He’s wearing an old-fashioned eye glasses, loose pants and t-shirts. Her hair was also almost ironed on her scalp which would embarrass the air from messing with it. Like what she had said, he’s the exact opposite of Vincent who in a super cool shape many women stumble.

He did not say Nathan was ugly. Behind those ugly eye glasses and loose shirts, Nathan is as handsome as Vincent. Only the student here at SHA is too shallow and looks purely outward.
