Chapter 1: Admire
Chapter 1
"Les is really BEAUTIFUL," Airin said weakly while looking at the man practicing in the open court. He raised both arms to the table in front. He laid his head on his hands and then sighed. "Look at his muscles. Dayum. It feels good to squeeze. And even though he's sweating profusely, he still looks like a perfume."
Airin was currently here at the open court of Saint Vincent University. Here he is studying for an Accountancy course. He is in his fourth year.
Here on the open court various SVU sports clubs practice and at this time, the tennis club occupies the court. But mostly, the tennis club is often here on this court.
What Airin has been watching (not stalking, okay) before is his ultimate crush Alessandro Crawford or Les with his friends. And because they are close (in her dream), she also calls the man Les.
Les is a member of the SVU tennis club. Aside from the beauty it possesses, it is very popular in SVU because of its tennis playing skills. Many female students at SVU like Les because of that. And of course, he is one of them.
But that wasn't the sole reason why Airin liked Les. Okay, he likes it because he is handsome and a good tennis player but he also likes Les because he is not arrogant unlike other varsity players. Les is down-to-earth despite his achievements. It's not like other varsity players (not all of them, ha) have an empty brain. Les is not negligent in studying. In fact, this is Dean's Lister consistent.
How did Airin find out all this? Simple. He did research. That's really research, not stalking. Airin is good when it comes to such things. Because of her so-called research, she learned so many things about Les (which were public knowledge naman din so ...).
His full name was Alessandro Crawford, the youngest son of Menard and Sandra Crawford. He has an older brother (an alumni of SVU and a popular drummer as well) named Alexander Crawford. Les was currently on his fifth year taking Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Like he is also graduating this year. He is a member of the tennis club and he is the vice-captain there.
In the physical portion, jusko, he is able to recite even with his eyes closed because he has memorized Les's whole form.
Les was tall. His height was around 5'11 "the last time Airin checked. Because maybe it was because he had foreign blood. Les was half Filipino-half American because he was white even though he was exposed to the sun. It didn't turn black, it just blushed skin. His nose pierced with red lips as if it was delicious to kiss. But Les's most asset is the blue eyes he inherited from his daddy.
His blue eyes were captivating. Added by the fact that it was framed with thick and long lashes that made her green with envious.
It was his eyes that made Airin fell in crush with him.
All in all, he will give Les ten perfect points when it comes to his physical attributes.
"I already said why are you just a woman here," said the voice causing Airin to shrink. Add that he was surprised because something fell in front of him.
Airin turned to the speaker and the one who opened up to him was his friendly friend Skye. He was a classmate of his when he was in his first year of college but he shifted his course. From Accountancy it did Fine Arts because that is really what this calling is. Despite this, the two of them still remain friends. In fact, this can be considered his best friend.
"Don't you have a class, Skye?" he raised an eyebrow at his friend as he sat down next to him.
"No. Do you have no class? Why, Airin Nessa, maybe you are just staring at Alessandro. Fix your life but, alas!" he said as if he was his mother. Its eyes are still bright.
Airin just blames Skye. He is already focusing his eyes on Les who is now on the court and against his teammate Cloud. Doubles game is Les's forte and his doubles team is always Cloud but not once does he practice Singles game. According to some he asked, the coach of the tennis club wants the club members to be flexible.
Les and Cloud have been dubbed the Golden Duo throughout SVU because of the perfect tandem of the two when it comes to playing tennis.
"I also don't have a class, okay. So I'm free to stare and stare at Les all night. And for your information, my life is fine. It's so nice, sometimes it feels like a messy trip, eh. Cool, isn't it?" Airin teases Skye but he still can't take his eyes off Les.
She could not look away from Les. She was watching his every step, his every move, as if she was in trance.
"It's too late for you, Airin. No. I thought the time would come when I would see you like that because of the man. How old are you, huh? "
Even without looking, he knew his friend was shaking now.
Even Airin could not believe that she would be obsessed with a man so strongly. After all, he has been studying and books all these years. If not a book related to his course, he is holding romance novels.
But when he met Les, he became nothing but Les, Les, and Les. He sees nothing but Les. He knows no one but Les. Her heart was screaming at nothing but Les's name. It's just a matter of time, eh, let his name be Les.
He is not obsessed, ah. He really just admires Les. It was the first time Airin felt something like this, that was why she did not know how to tone down this crushy feeling.
"It's different, best. I think I'm in love, think I'm in love, with Les. Every single day, every single night, I want to spend them all, with Les," he sang and smiled. "I still sang out of nowhere." Skye suddenly punched him. He shook his head as he greeted his friend. "Are you hurting and fighting, huh, Skye? Why are you hurting? Are you hurting me? Oh, it's redundant. It's ugly."
It released the air then looked at him closely. "Love right away? Hey, Airin, you just infatuated with Les. You just met him yesterday, in love right away? You're too exaggerated! This is a witch."
"You are more exaggerated! What yesterday? I have known him for three months, duh. Three months but it's as if I knew him since forever," he said then depressed. "If this isn't love, then what is this?"
"You've never been in love, Airin, so how do you make sure you love Les and not just that infatuation? You just said, you only knew him for three months. In those three months, did you talk? You? No, right? You are just admiring him from afar. "
Airin folded her arms and kissed Skye. His friend has a point but!
"If you hadn't even collided and if you weren't stupid, you might have all graduated, you still don't know him," Skye continued.
Airin was suddenly startled then thought. Skye is right. Airin has not yet fallen in love so he is also not sure about the feelings for Les. But whatever her feelings are, she would simply enjoy this by looking at Les from afar.
Because if it hadn't been for the collision with Les n'on, he wouldn't have known that Alessandro Crawford was wandering around SVU.
But maybe it was destiny. It was destiny that made it possible for them to meet each other on that fateful day ...
Airin is walking in a hurry. He also looked around at his wristwatch. They had a conversation with her best friend Skye who will meet at the Botanical Garden located behind the University Gym. Skye has something to say as important to him. They talked at two o'clock in the afternoon but because he was so focused on reading a romance novel in the library he forgot the time.
So here is the outcome, he is an hour late. Kuu, make sure that Skye's ears and throat (and what else can smoke) are already smoking for the long time she has been waiting for him.
"You're dead, Airin Nessa. Skye's fire will surely burn you. What a waste of your cuteness, jusko," Airin said to himself and looked at his wristwatch again.
Since he was not looking in the path, he just felt himself run into something hard. He sat down with the force of the impact. He let go of the books he was holding as he raised his hands to the floor.
"Aray," Airin moaned while rubbing his injured hands. Add to that his seat hurt as well.
"I'm sorry, Miss. Here, let me help you," said a faint voice.
Airin immediately looked at the source of that voice. The first thing that startled him was a pair of blue eyes. Cool and refreshing. Worry was written all over his face as he looked at her. The hardest thing he had just hit was this, its body.
Wow. Where does its body come from and are you so hard?
He held out his right hand to Airin and seemed to be hypnotized by it. It supports him in standing up. Then he picked up his books and handed them to him.
"Here. Sorry again."
"Thank you. And I'm sorry too. Because I'm not looking where I'm going so—"
"No. I'm the one who should be saying sorry. I'm also in a hurry so I didn't notice you," he interrupted Airin's apology. "Are you okay? Do you want to take me to the clinic?"
Airin shook his head and smiled at the man. "I'm fine. There is nothing wrong with me," he lied and simply hid his hands behind his back. He felt the pain there. Scratchedhe probably built it.
Airin's eyes widened when the man suddenly grabbed her arm. He lovingly pulled her arm until he saw her hands.
"Shit. I'm really sorry," he said. He was about to touch her hand when he stilled. Only now did Airin stare at his hands. It was bleeding but not very bad. "This is bad. I'll take you to the clinic."
"But—"
"No buts, Miss. It's hard and you might even get your hand infected. Alas, it's still beautiful."
Airin wanted to let out a dreamy sigh when she noticed how worried he was when he saw her wounds. This guy is so rare. There are still, collisions' after deadma. The sad thing is, the others, have already collided, still angry!
But this guy, he was different. He even offered to accompany her to the clinic. That was nice. Airin could feel that this wasn't an act. It was a simple gesture but in this kind of era, this was plenty already.
"Okay," Airin agreed with the man.
He gently held her arm and guided her to the clinic. All the while, Airin could not help but think how handsome this guy was.
"Your wound will just be CLEANED and bandaged so even I will do it. If we wait for Nurse Jen, the train might get off your wound, she is not there yet," said the man who collided with Airin. Hala! Until now, he has not asked its name.
It is currently rummaging through the medicine cabinet and bandage. Airin laughed slightly because of this corny joke. They had only been talking about it for a while but he noticed it was funny and naughty. Her first impression because to the man it was quiet. But Airin was wrong. He was the exact opposite of her first impression of him.
"Just hand me your medicine and bandage. I'll take care of myself. You're still going somewhere, aren't you?" ani Airin.
"How many times has your mother teased you and why are you so mean?" it turned to him then smiled broadly. It was as if his eyes were light blue because of the soft expression there. Maybe it's also because of the light coming from the light.
Cool.
"I don't know, eh. Maybe about ten," Airin joked.
It shook with laughter before returning attention to the search in the medicine cabinet. Airin, on the other hand, continued to look at the whole thing. He has a nice back and behind. Its body is really masculine.
"Are you okay?"
Airin sighed. He did not notice that it was close to him. How could he be lying behind it (in the back, ha, in the back! Not in the seat!)
"I'm fine," Airin's cheek blushed. He bent slightly to hide the redness on his cheeks.
He took the Monobloc chair on the side and placed it in front of him. He sat there then grabbed her arm.
"Tell me if it hurts, ha."
Airin nodded as he stared at the bottle he was holding. Alcohol. He literally stiffened when he saw that. He was terrified of alcohol. When he is injured, he only uses soap!
"W-what are you doing ?!" he exclaimed and quickly struggled to hold it. He immediately hid his hands behind his back. Alas, even though it feels good to hold his hand, his fear of alcohol still prevails, no.
"Clean your wound, most likely."
"Why are you using alcohol? Is there nothing there, uh, betadine?"
"Don't tell me you're afraid of alcohol?" there was a teasing melody in its voice. His blue eyes were sparkling with amusement, as if the thought of her being afraid of alcohol was so damn funny.
Airin glared at the man then stared at him. "Of course not! I'm not afraid of alcohol. Chick. Small thing. You still want me to drink that, eh!"
"That's it, eh." He quickly grabbed her arm then brought it closer to her face. It was just right to rub it with cotton with alcohol when he quickly pushed its face.
"Wait! I'm not prepared yet! My God! That hurts! I'm going to die, promise!" Airin panicked as he closed his eyes tightly.
She did not hear an answer from the man. He also did not feel the touch of cotton with alcohol in his hand. He slowly looked up and when he focused on the man in front of him, then he remembered that he was holding his face.
He quickly removed his hand from its face. She noticed the full-blown amusement that was written all over his face. His shoulder also shook slightly, a sign that he was holding back his laughter.
Asar.
But he looked so damn handsome right now.
"What's so funny, huh ?!" Airin couldn't help but sigh here to cover up the embarrassment.
"You. It's just like alcohol, you're scared. You look like a child," he said with a smile. He even covered his hand over his mouth to maybe hide his laughter. But his laughter still did not escape his hearing. Asar talaga.
Again and again, he looked so handsome and adorable right now but still!
He glared at it. "That's not funny!"
"Okay."
"I didn't say that, eh!"
"Yes."
It still continued to laugh.
Airin folded while remaining. He smirked at the man and averted his gaze even though he had stopped laughing.
"I'm done laughing." He sneezed to stop maybe laughing again. When Airin turned it around, they both looked right. "I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Alessandro Crawford. Fifth year student, from engineering department. Nice to meet you ..." he trailed off.
"Airin. Airin Nessa Chua. Nice to meet you, too, even if you tease me," he replied eleven.
Just a name, a dish. Add the body, hala, it's lunch time, said the lame part of his brain.
It presented the palm to him. None of his own he does that. His attention was focused on her eyes. He was just overwhelmed when he felt pain in his hand.
"There. I should just comfort you so you don't feel scared. It's really a bit painful but it's not scary, is it?"
Airin looked at Alessandro in surprise and noticed that he was looking at her hand. He thought it would just shake hands! By the way, he simply treated his hand. Its eyes are still okay distraction.
"I'll wrap it using this bandage then you're ready to go. By the way, you have a nice name, Airin."
Airin's whole face blushed because of what he said. He is not lacking in praise but this is the first time he blushed just because he said his name is beautiful!
It's just his name, he's affected! My God.
"Good as new," Alessandro said after adjusting the bandage on his hand.
"Thank you."
"You don't have to mention it, Airin," she replied smiling.
Alessandro opened his mouth to say something more when the door of the clinic opened and a man spat on it.
"You're here, Les! I've been looking for you for a while. You look like a badtrip. Coach Enzo is looking for you. All right, turn around twenty laps around the court," said the newcomer.
"Fine, fine. I'll be right next."
The man Alessandro was talking to smiled before leaving.
Alessandro immediately turned to him. "Got to go, Airin. Keep your hand, ah."
Airin just nodded as his gaze followed Alessandro's distant figure. She pressed her hands against her chest while thinking about this blue-eyed guy who managed to steal her attention.
"Alessandro Crawford. Nice name. Nice behind. Nice back. Nice eyes. Nice everything. I crush you na yata, dude," he said to himself.
Yeah, she was weird like that.
