Chapter Ten
Joey's Point of View
Telling Riley that Calum wasn't in the back seat anymore while she was driving was probably one of the worst mistakes I could make. Now we are both sitting in the car while someone pounded on Riley's window because she just hit their car.
"Just roll down your window, Riley," I said.
"It took you almost an hour and a half to notice he wasn't in the back seat anymore!" she asked me furiously. “How do you not notice he’s not in the back seat anymore?”
"Hey! Don't put this all on me! I thought he couldn't get out because you were supposed to put child's lock on his door! I didn’t think to check on him any earlier, I mean he’s been quiet the whole ride. " I said, glaring back.
"Oh, so now this is my fault?" Riley asked, looking at me with a surprised, amazed look.
"No, I'm not saying that. It was both of our responsibilities to watch out for him. I mean, obviously, he had to have learned something while being in the gang," I said.
She nodded but then her eyes widened.
"What? What's wrong?" I asked, panicking at her worried face.
"Joseph Maxwell. We are both idiots," she said, looking like she could break something as she held onto the steering wheel tighter.
"I know. Are you seriously just now realizing this?" I asked, confused. I mean, we just argued for a good five minutes about how stupid we both were for letting him get away.
"No, Joseph. You don't understand! We told this kid our names," she said slowly, like she was about to have a breakdown.
"Please tell me you just didn't say what I think you just said," I said, closing my eyes tightly.
"If we don't get our arses back and find him were gonna be in so much trouble," Riles said, panicking.
"But what are we going to do about this?" I asked, pointing out the window.
She looked out, her mouth making an 'O' shape, as if she was just now acknowledging the fact that there was an angry lady standing outside the car with her hands on her hips and police officers coming our way. She unbuckled her seatbelt, which thankfully protected us both from any serious damage. I noticed she was about to get out of the car causing me to quickly stop her by grabbing her hand.
"Oh, no. you don't. What do you think you're doing?" I asked her, still holding her smooth hand.
"I'm going to show these guys our badges and tell them we are undercover and we were in the middle of a case trying to catch a guy," she said, pulling her hand out of mine as she opened the door. She looked back at me as she was about to shut it. "You may want to grab the weapons out of the truck before it actually catches on fire," she said, pointing to the hood that now started to seep smoke.
I nodded, my eyes widening, and she shut the door and walked toward the police officers, swaying her hips.
My eyes followed her movements and how she flipped her long beautiful brown hair over her shoulder as she talked to the cop. I realized I should really get the bags and took the key from the ignition and got out, heading toward the trunk.
I pushed it open and grabbed Riley's bag and mine before grabbing the bag full of weapons. I looked back at Riley to find her throwing her hands up in the air, looking furious. The cop looked like he was about to detain her if she didn’t calm down. I took notice of his open palms and Riley’s clenching ones. Yeah, this wouldn’t end good if I didn’t get over there.
I quickly set the bags away from the car and jogged over to her.
"Bloody hell! You can't arrest me. I am not doing anything wrong!" she yelled.
"You hit my car!" the lady who was knocking on the window said.
Oops, I forgot she was there.
“Listen, if you don’t calm down, I’m going to have to detain you,” the officer said to Riley.
"What are we gonna do about the girl and this guy? We have to go," I said, nodding toward the officer, who was standing defensively. The woman was standing there angrily.
Riley took a deep breath. “Let’s start again," Riley said, sending a friendly smile at the girl. "You can take this card and show it to your insurance company. They will contact my people and my people will make sure you get a brand-new car for free. Make sure to mention you were sent by Riley." She handed the lady a card and looked toward the officer, “Everything is settled. Here is my information in case you need to get a hold of me if something doesn’t go right. You can take a picture of me and track me down if you don’t believe me, but we really have to go,” Riley said and the officer did exactly that.
"But more importantly, you never saw us here, you never met us even. Some random idiot hit your car.” I said quietly to the lady and giving her a look that I hope she would understand.
“And why would I do that?” She asked curiously.
“If you want your new car to be anything good and you want to have no payments with it in the future than it would be in your best interest.” I told her and she nodded before quickly getting out her phone.
“I won’t say a word.” She told us before she called someone, arranging to get picked up.
"Don’t feel bad.” I told Riley as we walked away toward our bags, immediately noticing the look on her face. “Just something else we had to do in order to get to Calum before he tells the gang that agents are after them. Specifically, if she tells them Riley Scott and the very handsome Joey Maxwell are after them," I said.
She rolled her eyes and smacked my arm. But she still continued to smile.
"So. How are we getting back there?" I asked Riley as we picked up our bags. We quickly called Matt and waited as it rang,
Beep. Beep. Beep.
"I have a feeling we have a long time before we get back," I said sadly.
"Let's get moving. I mean, we’re agents. We can run or at least jog. It's not like we were that far away, if you think about it. I say it should take an hour at most if we jog," Riley said, looking at her phone.
I nodded in agreement as we started our long adventure.

Emily's Point of View
Right after Riley and Joey left, I headed upstairs, frowning as I walked into Rachel's room to see her getting ready.
"Rachel, why don't you rethink this going on a date thing? Please?" I begged Rachel as she continued to straighten her long brown/blond hair.
"Oh, don't tell me Riley got you on her and Joey's side," Rachel said, turning to look at me for a moment.
"You know I don't take sides," I said softly.
"That's why you're trying to convince me not to go on a date with a guy I like who actually likes me," she said, setting the straightener down as she crossed her arms.
"Rach, c'mon, there are plenty of guys in the agency you can date who like you," I said, rolling my eyes.
"I don't get it. Why can I date someone who works for the agency and not just a regular normal person at school?" she asked, sighing dramatically.
"Rachel, you're not a normal girl. You signed up to be an agent knowing the consciences, don't you remember?” Matt asked Rachel, walking into the room.
She nodded slowly and I could easily tell she was thinking about the introduction meeting to the agency based on the scowl that formed on her face.
"But, Matt!" she still whined.
I sighed, annoyed. Was she really gonna still argue?
"What type of punishment could I get that's honestly that bad if I went on this date?" Rachel asked as she started doing her eyeliner.
"Rach, you know Joey and Riley left, right?" I asked, changing the subject.
She stopped her makeup for a minute and looked back at me.
"No, what? When did this happen? Did they go back to London? I'm so confused. Is the mission finished? Or are we all by ourselves on this mission now? Was she honestly that mad at me?" Rachel rambled.
Matt slowly started to back away and I sent him a glare for leaving me alone with her.
"So much for the help, Matthew!" I yelled at him.
He smiled at me and waved before jogging away.
"No, Rachel, the mission is not over and they didn't tell on you yet. They have left the mission to us for a little while," I said, answering her questions.
"Why?! This is our first mission outside of London. They can't leave us alone. What does Cole think about this!" she said, annoyed.
"Well, seeing as he was the one who assigned this extra mission, he obviously doesn't care very much," I told Rachel, shrugging.
"This is ridiculous! We can't do this by ourselves. Why did we even get put all together on this stupid mission anyway? What made Cole put us five together?" she asked.
"I don't know. But calm down. You don't need to worry so much," I said and she sighed and nodded.
"But anyway, About that date..." I trailed off.
"I guess I won't go on it, due to the fact that we are all by ourselves on this mission at the moment," Rachel said with a frown.
I squealed, jumping up and hugging her. "Yes! Thank goodness! Oh, I was so worried you were going to go!"
She gave me a confused look but ended up just shrugging it off.
"Is she not going?" Matt asked, peeking his head through the door.
"Yes, she isn't going," I said, going for another hug.
"Geez, guys. It was just a date," Rachel said, turning off her straightener.
"Oh, hold that thought," I said as my phone vibrated in my back pocket.
"Who is it?" Matt asked.
"Riley," I said as my eyebrows furrowed.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Answer it!" Matt said.
I quickly nodded and answered, putting her on speaker.
"Oh, good, you answered," Riley said, sounding relieved.
"Yeah, What's up?" I asked.
"I need you to get Rachel and Matt on the phone, too," she said, sounding in a hurry.
"You're on speaker; we're right here. What's wrong, Riley? Why does it sound like you're out of breath?" Matt asked as he waved Rachel and me to follow him downstairs where his station was set up with all his information and stuff.
"That's because I am. But, Matthew, I need you to get every bit of information on the kid Calum Kayto. Rachel, I need you track this kid right away and find out where he is right this moment."
Rachel quickly joined Matt and sat on the other side and started tracking the kid as Matt was looking up information.
"Do you need me to do anything?" I asked.
"Yes, I need you to call Calum’s mother. Her name is Sarah and I need you to explain to her that we are taking her son to L.A. with us. She may start to freak out a little but just quickly explain to her and get off the phone."
"A little? More like a lot. That lady is crazy," Joey said in the back, causing me to laugh a little.
"I found Calum," Rachel said, quickly jumping out of her seat.
"Oh, great. We need the location right away," Joey said into the phone, sounding out of breath, too.
"He’s right on the border line of L.A. He seems to be running. He is right now on Jackson Street and seems to be heading to that old store where we found all the dealers."
"Damn. That's what we were afraid of," Riley said, and my eyebrows furrowed.
"What is going on, Riley?!" Matt asked, confused.
"Long story short. Calum got away and we got into an accident and had to deal with the police and fix the situation. But more importantly we have to catch Calum because he knows we're agents and he knows our names. Yeah, now we are running till our taxi comes,” Joey said, sounding like he was gonna pass out. There was a loud static noise before Riley took the phone.
"Why is it such a big deal if he knows their names?" Rachel asked.
"If he tells the rest of the gang then we all are going to have some trouble. If they are smart enough, they will put two and two together and know the four new students who came to Wood’s High School aren't cousins and they are instead secret agents who are trying to arrest certain leaders of a certain gang." Matt looked completely stressed now as he ran his hand through his hair.
"Matt, any information on Calum yet?" Riley asked.
"No, it's almost like this kid doesn't exist. I mean, I can't find anything on him," Matt said, frowning.
"We must get to Calum before he gets to the rest of the dealers. So, Rachel, Emily, we'll meet you there," Riley said and then both said a quick goodbye.
"Well, let's get ready. We have a mission to attend to," Rachel said, standing.
I nodded as we quickly ran upstairs to change clothing and get our weapons and gadgets on.
