Planning Revenge
A satisfactory smirk formed on his lips, making Lucy and David sigh in relief. He was captivated, scanning and tracing the photo of a fragile girl. He eyed her with his dark, intense gaze. Her innocence ignited a fire within him, making her someone special to him. He delved deeper into her file, wanting to know more about her. His eyes widened as he read her medical reports.
Her medical reports made his heart beat loudly. Realizing this, he became restless. He felt his heart skip a beat, showing that his interest in life was growing. Was this the beginning of a war? Or a war of love? He raised his head only to see David's jaw drop to the ground as he read the girl's file with such dedication and interest.
"What's with her health? Is she suffering from any diseases?" he asked, his words dripping with hatred. He despised it when something he liked didn't go his way. He hated it so much.
David handed him a small note, shuffling a few pages before tapping on the file. "Here, boss, everything is..."
Ehab perused the words before him, his heart pounding vigorously, causing him to realize its existence and its ability to beat. His heart and mind became numb as he became aware that she was afflicted with a rare disease, which required immediate treatment to prevent serious complications. He expressed his disappointment by rubbing his temples with his two fingers, displaying his despondency. David and Lucy exchanged glances and shrugged, observing their boss in such a restless and tense state. Ehab had always been a strong individual, and no one had ever seen him so helpless and agitated before.
He was witnessing a transformation, one that he had never experienced before. His heart raced as his gaze fell upon her photograph, prompting him to trace its contours once again. However, his rational mind, influenced by his involvement in the mafia, prevented his heart from making any further advances.
His jaw clenched as his thoughts became fixated on his father's words, revealing that she was the daughter of his enemy, Keith Evans. She was the offspring of the mafia figure whom he despised and had long sought to eliminate.
Ehab's mind arrived at numerous unfavorable conclusions, which he despised. However, he questioned whether he could trust anyone any longer. Regrettably, the answer was no. As a member of the mafia, he lacked emotions, feelings, and trust in others. Ehab closed the file and discarded it onto the desk, then sat back in his chair, deep in thought. He pondered whether she truly had been diagnosed with the rare disease or if she had been feigning it.
Her eyes entered his field of vision, causing his heart to skip a beat once again. He took a deep breath, reflecting on his past as a playboy who had spent countless nights with beautiful women. Yet, none had captivated his mind like her. She was unlike anyone else.
He massaged his forehead with his fingers, deciding to take action and devise a plan to learn more about her. Who was she? Was he being deceived or was he simply naive? He cleared his throat, capturing the attention of Lucy and David, both of whom became tense.
David remained emotionless, as usual, while Lucy perspired profusely. She could sense that Ehab had something sinister in mind. She averted her gaze from his penetrating stare.
"David, keep a close watch on our rivals' every move," Ehab instructed, dismissing him. David nodded briefly and departed, not before giving a reassuring wink to Lucy. She took a deep breath and stood, trembling under Ehab's intense gaze.
"Lucy," he called out in a sweet tone. "Yes, Sir," she responded professionally.
"I had contemplated not separating you and your boyfriend, but only if you do me a favor. Will you?" he asked, smirking as he leaned back in his chair.
Lucy found it difficult to think clearly and simply shook her head, confused.
"I want you to befriend Wafa, gain her trust, spy on her, and gather every piece of information about her. I want to know every detail of her life, every breath she takes and every moment she doesn't," he commanded, causing her to nod in agreement.
Lucy, being a woman who was well acquainted with Ehab's manipulative tactics, understood the importance of seizing any opportunity he presented. She recognized that this particular chance was her only shot at ensuring her safety, as failure would result in dire consequences. Lucy was determined not to disappoint him under any circumstances. With a newfound determination, she clenched her fist and mustered up the courage to declare, "I am prepared to do whatever it takes." Ehab, smirking, realized that Lucy was already under his control.
"I appreciate your enthusiasm, young lady. You are quite clever," he remarked, giving a slight nod of approval.
Lucy smiled slightly, relieved to have secured her position in Ehab's good graces. Ehab raised an eyebrow at her and instructed, "Leave, Lucy," in a monotonous tone. She mouthed an "oh" and promptly exited the room. Ehab reclined in his chair and summoned his subordinate to connect his computer to the surveillance cameras in his warehouse. He was eager to observe the treatment being inflicted upon his prisoners, all of whom had betrayed him. As he listened to their live tortures, a wicked smirk formed on his face, and he closed his eyes with a sense of immense satisfaction.
"Keith Evans, may God save you and your daughter from me," he muttered through gritted teeth.
In the meantime, Wafa was seated idly, devoid of any notion of what to do or where to go. Having just awoken from a nap, she discovered herself confined within a lavishly adorned room, which was of considerable size to her. The bed was comfortable, and she could have slept for hours on end. The room was adorned in a lighter shade of green, which she admired for its color and design. It was already half-past eight in the evening, and her stomach growled, indicating her hunger. She felt embarrassed by this and hugged her knees closer to her chest.
Suddenly, the door to the room was pushed open from the outside, causing her to gasp in horror. She quickly covered her face with her small palms, praying, "Please don't hurt me," as her heart beat loudly. She was not afraid of anything or anyone, but rather, she was afraid of facing Ehab Durani.
However, what she heard was the sound of heels ticking on the floor. She peeked through her fingers like a child and, at first sight, Lucy found her to be adorable and couldn't help but smile. However, she also felt sorry for this little girl who had been trapped under a lion's paw. A lion who could kill anyone for his point of view, for his profit, for his sake. He cared little for others and was ruthless and powerful.
