Chapter 2

"Thank you, Doc Blake."

Smiling he messed up her hair. "I'm just a messenger of great news, Patty."

Patty read the name written on the paper provided by Doc Blake along with an address. Pauline Del Valle.

In the span of five years since her surgery, Patty wanted to meet the family of the person who owned the heart before her. But he postponed it because he had to fix his life first. He needs to start again. She needs to start fixing the life she was not able to live before because of her illness.

After graduating, Patty decided to do what she had always wanted to do — to see and get to know the family of the person who now owns her heart.

He was hesitant because he might appear to be too insensitive to what to do. She gained another life while that family lost one. Doesn't it look like he's slapping them in the face when he shows them?

But she really, really wanted to do this. Patty felt like she owed it to them. So he approached Doc Blake and talked about it. Fortunately, Doc Blake has the information regarding her heart donor. Hospital protocol that does not disclose details about the heart donor. But according to Doc Blake, the Del Valle family strongly instructed that if he gets to the point where he wants to know the person of the person who owns the heart given to him, Doc Blake can tell him.

But even though there seems to be a go-signal from the Del Valle family, Patty is still uncomfortable to suddenly face them and introduce herself as the one Pauline gave her heart. So Patty decided to meet them in disguise. He will not tell the truth first. He will first feel the Del Valle family.

"Do you know the Del Valles, Doc?" he asked inwardly.

It nodded. “The Del Valle people are good people. Their daughter, Pauline, was an active member of an organization since high school. She has three older brothers and an older sister. Pauline is probably a few years older than you. They all grew up here in Manila and go home to Cebu every vacation. ”

"Oh."

When Patty got home she immediately went straight to her room. He researched about El Corazon.

El Corazon was an island near Oslob, Cebu. It was a small island and looking at the map, the island looked like a broken heart. Patty is amazed at the readable and visible pictures about El Corazon. There are also sandbars, hipa huts like in the Maldives, and many other tourist attractions. The trees found in the island were ranging from color red, to orange, and some were light pink! It was so beautiful she was excited to see it with her own eyes.

Aside from meeting the family of her heart’s donor, this would be a great vacation for her, too.

Patty patted the scar on her chest.

"I'll meet you soon, Pauline."

She has so many things she wanted to do. She would start with this.
