chapter 2
Liam Paig
"Alright, I'll be on my way then". I told him and disconnected the call immediately.
I went over to my car and unlocked the doors getting in before shutting it behind me.
I put the key in the ignition and started the engine as I drove out through the opened gates.
I took a packet of chocolate with my right hand and unwrapped it taking a bite out of it. Really sweet, bless Lili for forgetting her snacks in here.
I'm Williams Paige named after my Dad but my friends call me Liam for short which I always prefer to be called by the way.
I'm 28 years old and the CEO of Paige enterprises, Williams corporation and my other companies.
Particularly, my Dad's company but he had given it to me when he died. The only one to keep me happy is my daughter, Lili and it always stays that way.
My mind drifted back to what Lucas had told me when he called. About Nick ending up in the hospital all because of a girl.
How will a girl beat Nick up to have ended him in a hospital? Is he really that weak or what? And why will she do that to him?
Probably because he's a sicko. I thought to myself as I drove on the tarmac, don't get me wrong with what I said.
Nicholas is my friend but sometimes, he's just an idiot. He likes toying with girls and I guess this is just a lesson to him, i know he will stop after this.
I sighted the traffic lights showing red so I stopped immediately slowing down coming in the same line with a car with two girls in it.
I winked at the girl behind the wheel. "Hi ladies".
She rolled her eyes and whispered to the other girl which made them laugh getting me pissed off.
I remembered the chocolate wrapper in my hand and decided to throw it through the window at them.
It landed just at her seat as the traffic light showed green. I smirked at her and sped off immediately.
I chuckled lightly to myself, seeing her frown was hilarious. Although the other girl seemed to be more prettier too.
Minutes later, i arrived at the hospital and got out of my parked car stepping out into the parking lot.
I went directly inside the main entrance and headed to where Lucas was.
"Dude. Whats up?".
We shook hands. "Still in his ward".
"Unconscious?". I asked him hopefully.
"Nah, nothing of that at all. He's just sore in some places, thats all".
I snickered a little. "He really was beaten up badly".
"Whoever she was, she really damn right hit the spot correctly".
"Well he deserves it though".
Lucas looked at me. "Dude".
"You and I know how Nick is, always like that".
"Maybe he will change after this".
"He kissed my girlfriend at the party last week".
"That doesn't mean you should wish him death".
"We still going to the club or what?". I ask him changing the subject matter.
"What about Lili?".
"She's probably getting tucked in bed right now".
He crossed his arms. "Liam, When last did you tuck Lili in bed exactly?".
"Hey!!". I protested. "I'm not a bad father here, i'm just sometimes strained out".
"And you going to the club will help how?".
"You going or what?". I asked him getting frustrated already,
He shrugged. "Sure, lets go".

I pulled over in front of a classic looking bar. Our regular as always although I really haven't been here in weeks now.
"Hm. Liam, the ladies". Lucas tapped me as he looked around walking in further.
I shook my head chuckling but stopped when I saw her. The lady I had thrown the wrapper at, she was here.
But why? And also she was engaged in a conversation with an extremely attractive young lady which just caught my attention.

"Come on, Chloe. Just get over it already".
"Get over it?". She let out a scoff. "Brie, it I see that motherfucker then I'm gonna rip his face out from his body".
"Seriously? Girl, you can't just go around beating people up like its legal because its not".
"I wish I had wiped that smirk off his face".
"Was he handsome?". I asked her.
"Didn't you see his face?".
I shook my head. "Nah, i was on the other side".
"I don't care for his looks, Brie".
"Well, just asking but hey, no beating up other people randomly".
She rolled her eyes. "Whatever you say".
"So where are we?". I asked her as we got out from the car.
"Only the most up beating club in town".
"Why are we in a club? I don't do clubs and you know that".
She groaned. "For once, Brie. Try to get a life, it won't kill, you know?".
"Okay fine. Lets go in".
"Who knows? You might just see a hottie". She continued talking as we walked in.
We stepped in and the first thing that came to my mind was to run back out but since Chloe is here, i can stay a bit.
"So lets go get ourselves a drink".
She led me to the counter and we both sat down. Almost immediately, a guy had come along.
He smiled at me. "Hi".
"No interested". I told him off harshly.
I think I should introduce myself a little bit to you all so as to get a scope of me.
I am Brianna Anderson. 23 years old and just graduated out of college few months back which I successfully did with pennies.
And by pennies, i mean, work hard day and night so as to try fulfill my dream of being a graduate which by the way, wasn't easy.
I've never thought of any guy since I have my own problems besides I'm used to my ex boyfriends all cheating on me although I'm constantly given attention by guys.
"Brie, come on, why didn't you say yes to that guy?".
I sighed. "I don't think I'm ready for any sort of relationships right now".
"You need to stop thinking about Nick and move on".
"Its really not that easy, Chloe". I said to her wistfully. "I really loved him so much".
"He's a jerk that you shouldn't waste your time thinking about".
"I can't believe i just broke up with another of my boyfriend who cheated on me". I was heartbroken so to say.
"Look on the bright side, at least. You get to bed with anyone now without feeling remorse".
"I'm not in the mood right now, Chloe".
"You sure?". She probed me.
"I'm sure, i might as well just drink away all of my sorrows this night".
"I wanna go ti the restroom, i'll be back".
"Have fun".
She left and I sighed still remembering the whole thing that had happened earlier.
Nick cheated on me. I wasn't expecting it at all. I initially thought that he was the one for me but I guess I was so wrong all those while.
"Hey. Give me some shots". I instructed the barman and he placed it on the counter.
Maybe just a few bottles this nights won't be a bad thing. After all, what better way to deal with a heartbreak than try to forget it?
I grabbed the bottle of Jack Daniels and open it immediately quickly gulping down all its contents.
I placed it back on the counter. Okay, that was a bad idea totally. I rubbed my temples with my fingers do as to ease the intensity.
"Evening, beautiful. Mind if I buy you a drink?".
"As you can see, i got a drink already". I shot back at him.
"Just one won't so bad".
I flashed him a smile. "No thanks, i don't take things from strangers".
"Then lets get to know each other". He said taking his seat next to me.
"I'd like it very much if you just leave me alone right now".
"But how can I?". He moved awfully closer to me. "I can't resist a beauty like you".
"She said leave". I heard a deep voice say behind me.
The guy glanced at me before walking off leaving me to breathe out a sigh of relief.
I turn on my chair facing him. "Thank you, mister".
"Williams. Liam Paige".
His name seems so familiar but I really can not tell exactly where I've heard it before.
"Brianna Anderson". I replied politely.
"An exotic name for such a pretty name".
I chuckled lightly. "Nice try but I don't get easily moved with flattery".
"I was hoping you would". He replied with his brown eyes twinkling.
I was just about to reply him when I heard Chloe's voice behind me.
"You?!!". She shrieked at him and I noticed that Liam's smile faded immediately.
I glanced at Chloe. "Huh? Whats going on?".
"He was the one who threw that wrapper at me".
I immediately stepped back away from them because I know how my best friend is. She really is one crazy bitch who can kill him right here, right now.
"Hey!! Where you going? We didn't get to finish our talk". Liam beckoned to me.
Chloe smirks. "Oh don't worry, honey. You can get to talk to her when she visits your grave at your funeral".
