(THE TWIN BROTHERS)
CLARA'S POV
My mind was reeling. I was furious that the stalker had caused all of this, and I wished that I could make him pay for what he had done. But I knew that I had to deal with the situation at hand. My boss was glaring at me, and I knew that I had to say something.
"I know that this looks bad, but I swear it was not my fault, it was caused by a customer. You can even check the CCTV." I tried to keep my voice steady.
"But I promise that I will do whatever it takes to make it right. I can work extra shifts, or do anything else you need me to do. Please don't fire me." I pleaded.
"I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to let you go," my boss replied, his voice cold and final. "This is completely unacceptable."
I felt my heart sink. I had lost my job, and I had no idea what I was going to do next. I walked out of the store, my head spinning. I felt like my world was falling apart.
I dragged myself home, feeling completely defeated. I slumped onto my bed, feeling empty and numb. I had never felt so lost and alone.Just as I was sinking into despair, my mom called out to me.
"Honey, come in here!" her voice was full of excitement. I told my mum that I lost my job and that I was feeling terribly sad.
"You don't need to feel sad, I've got good news."
I looked at her, curious about what she could possibly have to say. "What is it, mom?" I asked.
"I got married today," she said, a huge smile on her face. "And my new husband is very well-off. We're going to be just fine."
"Yeah, I know. But I thought that the paper signing would take a long process, probably days."
"No honey, it just took a few hours." She smiled.
I was still in shock, but I couldn't help but feel a little bit off because it was now that reality dawned on me, mum has finally remarried.
"So what's next?" I asked, wanting to be sure of the next step.
"We'd move into his house in a few days, me, you and your uncle. There is enough space for us all."
As I sat there, trying to process everything that was happening, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. I knew that my mom had married this man to help us out, but it felt like such a drastic step. I had so many questions, and I didn't know where to start.
My mom must have seen the confusion on my face, because she started to explain. "I know this is a lot to take in," she squeezed my hand. "But I promise that I've thought this through, and I truly believe that this is the best thing for us. My husband lives in a beautiful house, and he has plenty of room for us," my mom's eyes shining with excitement. "We'll have our own rooms, and your uncle is welcome to come with us."
I tried to imagine what it would be like to live in this stranger's house, and I felt a wave of anxiety wash over me. I loved my mom, and I knew that she was doing this for us. But I couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty that was bubbling up inside of me.The morning of the move arrived, and I felt a mix of emotions. I was nervous about the new house and the new life that we were about to start. But I was also grateful to my mom for her sacrifice, and I was determined to make the best of it.
I helped her pack up our things, and I tried to stay positive. But as we drove to our new home, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. Would we be happy here? Would we fit in? I didn't know the answers to these questions, but I hoped that everything would work out.
The house was even more beautiful than I had imagined. It was a large, stately home with a sweeping front lawn and a garden full of flowers. As I stood on the doorstep, I felt a sense of awe. This was going to be our new home.
A tall, silver-haired man opened the door, and he smiled warmly at us. "Welcome," he said, his voice booming. "I'm so glad you're here. Please, come in."
We stepped into the house, and I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the space. The entryway was large and open, with a nice view.
The man led us into the living room, and I took a seat on the couch. My mom sat next to me and my uncle at the opposite end, and he also sat in a chair across from us. We sat in silence for a moment, and then Richard cleared his throat.
"You are all welcome to my house. Sorry. Now you're home."
"I'm so happy to have you both here," he continued, his eyes shining. "I know that this is a big change, but I hope that we can all get to know each other and become a family. I am Mr Dan David and I'm your stepdad." He introduced.
I felt a little overwhelmed, but I nodded. I didn't know what to say, so I just listened.
"I am Clara, nice meeting you. I hope we get along really well." I was introduced too.
After my introduction, my uncle introduced himself and my stepdad called out two names.
"Josie and Jessie, come here."
I heard footsteps approaching and I glued my eyes focused on the sparkling floor.
"These are my twin sons, This is Josie and this is Jessie."
I looked up to see the faces of my Stepbrother's and I was totally shocked at the revelation.
One was the stalker from before and the other was the kind guy at the convenience store who paid my debt.
No wonder they looked so alike but Jessie, the kind guy at the store, was more handsome than Josie, my stalker.
I had never been so surprised in my life, I felt like I was dreaming but I realized that it is reality when my step dad introduced me to them as their stepsister.
I was shown my room, I unpacked and removed my clothes to change into something more comfortable.
I stood facing the door naked, I was just putting on my bra that cupped my breast and my transparent underwear when Josie barged into my room without knocking.
